60 Years for Child Porn

The Justice Department issued the following statement.

Cody Clines Adkins, 36, of Jackson was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge Carlton Reeves to serve a total of 720 months in federal prison followed by a lifetime of supervised release for producing child pornography and possessing images of child pornography, announced U.S. Attorney Mike Hurst, Special Agent in Charge Christopher Freeze with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood. Adkins was also ordered to pay a $5,000 fine and restitution to be determined at a later date.

Adkins
“Despicable acts committed against children will receive the severest penalties in this district.Hopefully, this monster will never touch free ground again. I commend our prosecutors, FBI agents, and state investigators for bringing this criminal to justice. We will remain ever vigilant in protecting our children,” said U.S. Attorney Hurst.

"If you have an addiction to child pornography, seek help from professionals - otherwise, you could face similar penalties and time in prison like Mr. Adkins will be spending," said FBI Special Agent in Charge Freeze. "These types of investigations and prosecutions could not be successful without strong partnerships between the FBI, U.S. Attorney's Office, Mississippi Attorney General's Office, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and law enforcement at all levels."

“This pedophile deserves every year he’s gotten behind bars,” said Attorney General Jim Hood. “As a father, I cannot think of a more disgusting crime than what this man has committed, and I pray that the innocent children he has victimized will find peace and be able to enjoy the childhood they deserve. Thank you to Judge Reeves and the agencies that worked together to put this man far away from destroying more lives.”

Beginning in and around February 2017, agents with the Jackson FBI and Mississippi Attorney General’s Office conducted an undercover investigation of individuals downloading and sharing child pornography images in Mississippi via the Internet. During the investigation, an Internet Protocol Address was found to be sharing and downloading numerous images and videos of child pornography. The investigation led to Cody Clines Adkins in Jackson, who, via the Internet, was sharing videos and images of child pornography of children as young as 2 years old engaging in sexual explicit conduct with adults. Further, the investigation revealed that Adkins was actually producing child pornography.

On July 25, 2018, Adkins was charged in an 18-count federal indictment. He pled guilty before Judge Reeves on January 17, 2019, to four counts of producing child pornography and two counts of possessing images of child pornography.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office jointly investigated the case. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Glenda R. Haynes.

The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Led by U.S. Attorneys' Offices and the Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet as well as to identify and rescue victims. That's ten times the sentence that murderers get in local courts in Hinds Co.

He looks like a big pimple. Someone needs to pop him!

1. What business does the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics have to do with child porn? Seems a bit out of their wheelhouse to me.
2. Good for Hurst and crew. And for Judge Reeves. Though I have to imagine that this guy has some pretty bad criminal history and a lot of aggravating circumstances to get 720 months. This guy will never get out of prison; I doubt he will survive 7 months.

This is how these cases should be reported. Notify us of the conviction. Don't ruin a potentially innocent life with the accusation and arrest. It's far to easy to accuse with very little evidence.

Good job Judge Reeves! Hope to see this become the norm in cases involving children.

Dayum! He got life plus a fine for pleading guilty. Wonder he would have gotten with an innocent plea and being found guilty.

12:51, many, many, many societal ills, from dog fighting to child porn, are directly linked to narcotics.

One of my employees served 18 months of (federal) grand jury duty... some time afterward, he told me that he was shocked at the number of cases that involved trafficking of minors (yes, even toddlers) for sex.

Apparently, when junkies need a fix, they will pimp out their own children, AND BABIES, for quick cash... no questions asked.

He was clearly VERY upset and disturbed by what he saw and heard, and it is happening under all our noses, right here in central MS. The media can't cover the gruesome details.

If you follow the MS Animal Rescue League page on Facebook, you read and saw pictures of Willow, the miniature horse who was horrifically sexually abused and mutilated, and was only discovered when her owner was found dead at his home. Again, right here in central MS. I have no doubt drugs were involved in that too.

A lot of us are living in absolute ignorance as to what is going on in our communities.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
