Tricked out, unmarked SUVs are usually state officials. Municipal and county cars must be marked by law unless used for under cover work. And of course nobody goes under cover in an all black SUV.

All State Vehicles should be marked however the Governor approves certain vehicles to be unmarked. The is an official list that he signs off on. You will never see it it’s only undercover vehicles or friends of friends. Last time I saw it there were 300 from public safety alone.

Actually, there are a number of black law enforcement vehicles on the street that, at first glance, appear to be "unmarked" but if you look close, the markings are there, they just blend in with the vehicle because the markings are of a dark gray tone.

The MBN has a fleet of unmarked cars and trucks....not usually fancy ones though.

I always wondered why I sometimes see unmarked police Tahoes with lights (not roof mounted, but in the grill and windows) and antennas and everything, but they have a University of Alabama or LSU tag. Always seemed odd to me.

There were no markings on the vehicles. I know what you mean and I've gotten pretty good at spotting those grayed out markings but these were totally black.

I believe Feds use Red and Blue. At least the one's I've seen are lit that way.
