JPD issued the following statement.
Jackson Police are investigating a shooting that left three fatally wounded. It happened just after 11:00am on Marwood Drive.
Officers were originally called to a residence located in the 3000 block regarding someone being held against their will. When they arrived, they found a black male in a wheelchair, just outside the home and a firearm was laying near him. After the male told officers that he had shot someone, they later walked to the rear of the home and discovered three black females, all suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Each was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The male was taken into custody for questioning. He is identified as 22-year-old, Maurice Forte, and is related to all three of the victims. Forte suspected of the shooting and has since been charged with three counts of murder.
The victims are identified as 67-year-old, Eddie Mae Wofford (suspect’s grandmother), 49-year-old, Miyuki Wofford (suspect’s mother) and 26-year-old, Kyisha Wofford (suspect’s sister).

Kingfish note: The Officer-Involved Shooting ID Task Force doesn't want you to have this information but JJ will report it anyway. There is a 2014 indictment against Maurice Forte in Hinds County Circuit Court for attempted armed robbery and house burglary. The case is still pending. The last entry was 2016. His d.o.b. is December 14, 1995.

If true, and convicted, this wheelchair-bound POS would probably cost $500K+ a year to keep him at 98.6.

This "Officer-involved" taskforce is nothing more than an attempt to intimidate JPD from using their weapons when lethal force is required.
The legislature should not allow Jackson to do this.

How did he attempt to rob someone and burglar a house if he is in a wheelchair?

Where is Hinds, Mississippi? Wherever it is would be an ideal spot for his burial plot. The wheelchair could be set in concrete atop his plot.
He won't be eligible for the handicapped citizen of the year award for 2018. Maybe next year.

It's a shame that elected prosecuting attorneys have made such an unjust mockery of sending innocents to their deaths that when we have individuals whose crimes glaringly demand a death sentence and there is overwhelming evidence to prove it the murderers get life with a membership in the gym and an internet connection in many jurisdictions. Criminal justice across the country is a terrible joke and Mississippi is at the bottom of the barrel.
