JPD issued the following press release and video.
Jackson Police are investigating a business robbery that occurred in the 1400 block of Ellis Avenue. It happened on last night just before 11:30pm at the Auto Zone.
Officers responded there to learn that four black males, with their heads and faces covered, entered the store armed with handguns and demanded money. The suspects took the register drawers and took the wallet of an employee before fleeing the store.
It is unknown if the suspects had a vehicle awaiting. The incident was captured on store surveillance.
No injuries were reported during the incident.

In all fairness, Auto Zone’s prices are so low, you’ll think you’re committing grand theft!!!!

Sooo glad AutoZone is open at 11:30 PM. Just never know when I might want to change the oil in my get-away car or need some quick cash.
Why in the hell do they put the security cameras so damn high? Wouldnt more cameras say at head height on the walls be more effective?
Auto Zone closes at midnight at that location every night except for Sunday. That is the biggest waste of operational expense!! Those are like Black Friday retail hours.
Round up the usual suspects. Not much good happens in W. Jacktown between noon and 11:59 a.m.
@5:05 PM It closes at midnight because the locals don't even get out of bed until about 1-2 PM.
