Murder on the Natchez Trace

A homicide took place on the Natchez Trace near Ridgeland a few days ago.   Law enforcement sources said a man was murdered and shot multiple times.  However, the National Park Service has jurisdiction since it occurred on federal property.  The FBI is supposedly handling the investigation.

The FBI issued this statement:

The FBI Jackson Field Office is conducting an investigation surrounding the discovery of a body on federal park property along the Natchez Trace Parkway on Monday, Sept. 24, 2018. The National Park Service is assisting with the investigation. The investigation is ongoing, so no further information will be released at this time."
Preliminary and detention hearings for the two suspects will be held on  October 4 at 2:30 PM.

CORRECTION: JJ originally reported:

The FBI arrested the suspects.  The Madison County Jail docket states that it is holding three suspects arrested by the FBI on September 24.

Jesus Noe Gaxiole-Lopez, Age: 21.   Charge: murder, conspiracy
Christian Michel Gonzalez-Mondragon: Age: 21. Charge: murder, conspiracy

However, the booking information was incorrect.    The Fibbies charged Gaxiole-Lopez and Gonzales Mondragon with being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm. The Madison County booking information is posted below so readers can see why JJ incorrectly reported their arrest for murder.

However, the affidavit for one of the arresting agents states the two men are homicide suspects:

4. When interviewed, Sara Espino provided the following information: Lopez arrived at 245 Walnut Ridge Street, Ridgeland, Mississippi on or about September 23, 2018, wherehe had a confrontation with Gonzalez Mondragon after Lopez kicked Gonzalez Mondragon's bedroom door in. Gonzalez Mondragon chased Lopez out of the residence. A short time later, Espino and Gonzalez Mondragon left the residence in Gonzalez Mondragon's 2009 Silver Nissan Altima to look for Lopez. Espino believed Gonzales Mondragon was going to tell Lopez that he could no longer live at the residence and afterwards, Gonzalez Mondragon and Espino would go smoke marijuana together. Upon locating Lopez, Lopez was put into the vehicle and taken somewhere off the Natchez Trace Parkway in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Espino told investigators that Espino, Gonzalez Mondragon, and Lopez exited the vehicle. All three individuals went to the rear of the vehicle where Espino saw Gonzalez Mondragon shoot Lopez approximately ten times. After he shot Lopez, Gonzalez Mondragon stated to Espino, "This never happened." Espino and Gonzales Mondragon left Lopez at the Natchez Trace location, got back into the vehicle, and returned to 245 Walnut Ridge Street, Ridgeland, Mississippi. Upon returning to the residence, Gonzales Mondragon, Espino, and Bencomo discussed what had occurred and decided that if ever asked, they would all say that they knew nothing about the murder of Lopez. On the evening of September 24, 2018, a search warrant for evidence concerning the murder of Aaron Lopez was executed at the residence in Ridgeland, Mississippi.

5. While executing the search warrant at 245 Walnut Ridge Street Ridgeland, Mississippi, Special Agents and Task Force officers observed that Cristian Mitchel Gonzalez Mondragon was in possession of a Smith and Wesson, 9mm, Serial Number HFZ1375 at 245 Walnut Ridge St. Ridgeland, Mississippi. Gonzales Mondragon admitted to agents that he used this gun when he shot Lopez. After he used the firearm to shoot Lopez, he placed the gun in the closet where agents recovered it during the search of the residence. 6. Additionally, it was discovered that a fourth occupant of the residence, Jesus Noe Gaxiola-Lopez, was in possession of a Remington 1911, .45 caliber, serial number RlAl 112063. This gun was found on the bed that belonged to Jesus Noe Gaxiola Lopez. Gaxiola-Lopez admitted to agents that he bought the gun from an unknown third party for $500.

Thus, one would expect the feds to throw a murder charge at the defendants.

Original but erroneous booking information.

Lee Morris - I'm glad that you think a murder is "Cool!"

I hope that neither you nor your family is a victim of violent crime, maybe it won't be so cool then.

Who was the poor soul that they allegedly murdered?

It’s pretty funny that people think a wall is going to change anything. I’m sure when the cartels get to the border and see a wall they will just turn around and go home. Idiots.

Why build a wall when people are tunneling underground. Think smart

You don’t know how immigration works if you think spending a shit ton of money on a wall will significantly deter illegal immigration. How do you think most illegal immigrants get here? For the majority, they come here legally but overstay their visas. Please explain what a wall will do about that? It’s like you think this is 12th a century Europe and a moat will solve your problems . But I forgot, your orange puppet master said it’s true so it’s beyond question.

Monday morning bike ride on trace went by location of body drop. Lots of police, hearse, ambulance, etc. Finally some news about it.

Spend a hundred mil on a wall -,our tax dollars, not Mexicos, but who's wotried about those details anymore. That will cover the Mexico border with SW USA. What kinda wall are you going to put up around our shorelines? You think the cartels don't already realize a boat can land at Wavelabd, or beautiful Ocean Springs, or ugly Pascagoula - not to mention everything from Galveston to Houma, etc - right now. Your damn wall, and Trump's damn wall, ain't going to do a thing to stop anything. And for what it's worth, I voted against HRC and voted for Trump. So don't go off on the normal name calling and face rwality.

On the next "In the Heat of the Night" Murder on the Trace is linked to VooDoo from a murder that happened in 1960s. Stay tuned for the movie of the week on NBC.

Not to be confused with Murder on the Orient Express.

Nobody is around that remembers prohibition, the wall is going to be just as successful, even if it is eventually built.

6:56 pm The facts support your comments except it will cost billions not millions.
The Trump administration estimated $12 billion.
Homeland Security estimated $21.6 billion

About 125.7 million of us are employed. Of that number, a minimum of 44% don't pay federal taxes so around 70 million Americans would carry the tax burden if we paid in one year. But, of course, it will go into the debt and be paid by generations.

There have been 13 sophisticated tunnels found. Drugs and criminal illegals also come by private plane, not just by water. But, there is no such thing as a wall that cannot be breeched by humans with the right tools or multiple natural disasters.

The Brookings Institute (www.brookings.edu) has been a reliable source of information since 1916. They have an extensive essay on The Wall which includes estimates of undocumented workers in each state and the actual economic and social consequences.

You can also look up " boom /bust economics" . These political boondoggle projects that curse us result in temporary jobs that increase employment but do not create lasting jobs , temporarily boost the economy and can create strains on the infrastructure. Later, when the local economies are still paying for bonds they needed to support the boom, their economy busted. But, a politician can claim to have been misled and those who profit will have seen to it that he was appropriately rewarded.

@ 5:48 PM,5:01 PM, 5:10 PM,
A WALL IS JUST THE START.
After the wall increase Coast Guard & patrols on waterways.
Hire more ICE.
Than do sweeps in every state checking documentation.
We could use your help too. By voting republican. Act don't complain. MAGA!
Also, write your senator/congress person & encourage them.
But, please don't work against us like Wikileak has done by posting every ICE agent name, picture, Bio, & address/phone number online. I think that's called DOXING.

I agree that a wall won’t solve the illegal immigration problem. But there are vast sections from Texas to California where all you have to do is walk across the border. Maybe sensors would be better but the manpower to respond might be more costly . In my opinion we are wasting money on those irritating inland check points 100 miles from the border.

6:56 and 8:59 say safety costs too much so let's ignore it.

A new set of tires costs too damned much so I'll just whistle along on these maypops that are approaching 76,000. I don't plan on hydroplaning, if I have a flat I'll call AAA and I don't drive in icy conditions anyway. So there.

To those whom think and have the audacity to speak out their asses are the same people who just live in a bubble of negativity. My precious Angel is not mexican; however mixed hispanic and Puerto rican. Overall about the illegal subject- if the president would have everything organized things like this would not have happened. In fact to any family at all. The fact that an illegal was in possession of a firearm, FIRST off, should not have been, makes this world so unorganized and yet untrustworthy! The fact that they try to make us people believe we are protected is PURE BULLSHIT!they had no right to take my Angels life away! Haters will always be haters! People are so quick and ready to use a weapon n react so quick without thinking! If weapons were never made in this cruelty world we live in,other people's loved ones would still be walking this earth! Those who use weapons ARE THE MOST WEAKEST OF THEM ALL! But one thing for sure, Lopez did fight this sick cruel murderer and the fact that Lopez got hands made this murderer feel inferior BUT BECAUSE HE WAS ALWAYS INFERIOR thats why he is an illegal because he can and never will rise above my Angel or any human being! So fuck the system fuck the government fuck the president fuck the negativity fuck the illegals as well. One thing is for sure, his spirit will remain alive and he will rise from the dead and to those whom were involved in conspiracy and that fat bitch who is acting like she can just snitch and get away with it... No bitch all of you guys r out! What goes around comes around! I rest my case. RIP MY ANGEL!

I went to high school with both Christian and Noe. We grew up together. Being Mexican had nothing to do with the murder. You are so close minded and simple if you believe these things. THEY wer we’re friends with and a part of a beautiful mixed generation. All ethnicities in ridgeland highscoolvclasses 2010-2014 were beautifully interhrated. That being said, they were good kids that made bad decisions. Christian has a beautiful daughter. Noe was engaged to be married. Aaron was a very kind person. I got the blessing to get to meet him a few weeks before this happened. It pains me to think of it alll. My heart hurts for all 3 because I knew them enough to know this wasn’t them. I know they have regret. I know that they would take it all back if they could. Race had nothing to do with it. A group of white kids could have been in the same predicament. The underlying problem here was substance abuse. Methamphetamines and Xanax flood the streets. Sadly high school kids are more and more subject to these drugs. I know because I watch as my friends are slowly decaying from the abuse. I pray for Aaron’s 2 children. They had a wonderful father. I pray for Christians family. As well as Noe. I genuinely would say I wish the pain of addiction and loss on everyone that thinks gang/race violence had anything whatsoever to do with this. My heart aches still.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
