I saw a city of Jackson, Police car, deep inside Clinton, on Hwy 80, blue lights on and stopping someone, Does Bro Stokes, advocace, that the citizens
of Clinton, trow rocks bricks & bottles AT THEM (Jxn police) ? This is a serious question.

Uh, your head line should read:
Jackson City council speaks UP FOR STOKES

How about removing Stokes from the position he holds?
How can any law enforcement members feel safe when having to come into the city of Jackson when one of the council ask the people to attack them.
How do the citizens of other cities feel safe when members of law enforcement are being treated this way?

Good thing Jackson doesn't appear to be a safe haven for criminals.

Jackson has been a safe haven for criminals for many years. The only difference in now and before is an elected official is making it plain. How many different ways do people need to have it explained to them? Jackson is full of criminals. Jackson is run by criminals. Law enforcement is part of the problem.

Nothing but a lightweight, topwater, sterile comment devoid of sincerity and meaning.

To rephrase the council's remarks: "The Jackson City Council is opposed to other jurisdictions endangering our citizens and we ask that they respect our sovereignty. Our brother, Kenneth, expressed our wishes well, although he went a little bit too far in his honesty. We have asked him to reserve such comments for executive session when we all say similar things".

This is not the JACKSON CITY COUNCIL; this might be Priester speaking and trying to hide behind 'the group'. When did the Council get together and put out this as a joint statement? Did they all sign on to it? What is the evidence other than Priester says he is speaking for the Council?

Priester is trying to emulate our fine Mayor and hide while he covers his ass. Once the Council makes a statement that all have signed their name to will I accept it as being 'the Council's condemning' of this idiot. So far, only Foote has spoken as an individual member - where are the rest of them?

It's a nice statement, and much needed, but it should be followed up with a council resolution condemning the comments, voted on by the council at their next meeting. Wishful thinking I know, but it would show whether they truly agree that his comments are inappropriate.

I noticed in the press conference Fat Albert dismissed the statements by the Madison and Rankin sheriffs as only 2 of 82 counties. Perhaps the Mississippi Sheriffs Association should issue a statement immediately to show that more than just 2 LEOs condemn his comments.

The council's "We denounce him but he's right" statement attempts to turn this into a police problem. It's not. It's a Stokes problem. The underlying issue is irrelevant.

7:03 pm More than a few citizens of Hinds County find the underlying issue very relevant and have for quite a long time.

I would remind you that two prominent women were innocent victims of police pursuit when one involved an attempted forgery and the other a car theft by rather young people from a construction site. Both chases occurred on busy streets at high traffic times.

In the car theft, both the car thieves and victim were white so some of us know, even if you and Mr. Stokes do not, that the issue has zero to do with race.

I would like to remind you that two prominent women were the victims of a criminal recently who went around looking for white women to shoot. One that the Jackson cops should have gotten off the street long before he killed two women.
How about Jackson doing more chasing and catching criminals and a littles committing crimes.
