Some big baby steps to report: Bert responded to having his feet pulled and tickled Friday by yanking them back ( the neuro doc was very pleased) AND a dear friend told him to squeeze his hand and he did! Of course he's still very ill and remains on the ventilator, but these steps are good ones! It's forward progress and while we know there may be some steps back when a person is very ill like Bert, so far we've only seen the forward.
I'm advised to take the day off today; his daughter Valerie Case will be the "hostess" today at the hospital for those of you who want to stop by - she'll probably be there sometime after 10am.
For those of you who aren't in this area, you should know the public's caring and concern are unbelievably incredible! Social media has been going wild.....check out wapt.com and WAPT's facebook for a lot of that.
WAPT's coverage of Bert is phenomenal...every newscast updates Bert with great video of him. The Channel 16 family loves and supports him and are so helpful to me as well. The other TV stations here have also reported on Bert which
tells you how well regarded he is.
Prayers ARE working; please keep them coming - no letting up....thanks from a grateful Mary
