Senator Thad Cochran's wife, Rose, passed away. She recently entered hospice care. Funeral arrangements will be posted when available. Governor Phil Bryant issued the following statement:
“Deborah and I are saddened to hear of the passing of Rose Cochran today. Our thoughts and prayers are with Thad and his family. Rose was a gracious and humble lady who should be long remembered for her caring and gentle spirit.”
Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves issued one as well:
“Elee and I are praying for Sen. Cochran and his family as they remember their beautiful Rose. Through Thad’s service, the entire family has dedicated their lives to the betterment of Mississippi, and Mrs. Cochran played a major role in that.”

Please, no jokes or snide remarks from either side of the past campaign.
RIP, beautiful Rose.
She did not deserve what happened to her in her last year on this earth.
2:13 obviously didn't read the first post. No need to make remarks about her or her passing one way or the other. R.I.P. Mrs. Cochran. I did not know you but understand you were a fine lady.
God bless her and her family. She was very much a part of her family's contributions to our state.
Marshall Ramsay says all that needs to be said with today's -I won't call it a cartoon - rather, tribute.
Kingfish -- please remove 2:13's comments from the blog. I prefer not to call this censorship but respect.
Kingfish -- please remove 8:56's comments from the blog. I prefer not to call this censorship but that is exactly what 8:56 proposes.
