Former Jackson Municipal Court Judge June Hardwick sent a racially inflammatory email about Hinds County Circuit Judge Jeff Weill one week before the November 4 election. Apparently the judge does not employ the type of justice she enjoyed from another judge in Hinds County. Ms. Hardwick wrote:

Subject: VOTE for Judge Ali Shamsiddeen next Tue.
Greetings, all,
We are exactly one (1) week away from Election Day. I need a favor please...
My friend and colleague Judge Ali Shamsiddeen is running for the Hinds County Circuit Court judge seat - District 7 - Sub-district 1. He is not running against current incumbents Senior Circuit Court Judge Tomie Green or Circuit Court Judge Winston Kidd.
Instead, Ali is running against Judge Jeff Weill. I would not typically mention the name of the opponent. I am this time only because you need to know who this man is. Weill is an ultra-conservative, who enjoys sentencing black men to the maximum allowable time in prison regardless of the facts presented. I have seen and experienced for myself. During trials, he functions as a prosecutor. Defense attorneys practicing in Weill's courtroom fight not only against ADA's but also Weill. I have argued three (3) trials in front of him:
He made these experiences awful.
He is unfair.
He is a sexist and a racist bigot.
As a result, Weill cannot be fair and impartial. It's just not in him. I HAVE NEVER, EVER WITNESSED WEILL BEING FAIR AND IMPARTIAL!
(Redacted as the paragraph refers to a personnel matter) Regardless, we voters can hold him accountable for his rampant wrongdoing against the black community.
Vote for Ali Shamsiddeen.
Ali is the better candidate. He hails from Georgetown (KF note: That is Georgetown in Mississippi, not Washington DC) and graduated from Lanier. Ali attended Cumberland Law School in Birmingham and later clerked with Judge Tomie Green. I met him back in 2005, when he shared office space with the late Mayor Chokwe Lumumba, Atty. Barry Howard and Atty. Imhotep Alkebulan. He now shares office space with 2014 Mayoral candidate Atty. Chokwe Antar Lumumba.
Ali has practiced law all over the State. I had the honor of working with him on the Municipal Court bench from October 2013 until July 2014. He offered me advice and guidance during my time on the bench. Staff and defendants oftentimes would compare my decision-making and me to Ali. This was a compliment, because I know beyond doubt that Ali cares about the outcomes of every defendant, who appears before him. He actually listens to the facts and arrives at an objective and fair decision based upon the individual defendant and the facts presented to him. Ali makes it a habit to deliberate his decisions before ruling. It is and was not ever his intention to race through the docket. Too many of us have experienced the assembly line nature of criminal justice. However, Ali considers each case individually and takes his time. He is patient. We can expect him to be the outstanding administrator of justice that he is now once he's elected to the Circuit Court bench. Judge Ali Shamisiddeen will continue to be firm and fair.
However, feel free to do your own research. Then, please encourage your family and friends to look for his name - Ali Shamsiddeen - on the ballot next Tuesday and vote for him.
Lastly, during the last stretch of the campaign, the Committee to Elect Ali Shamsiddeen Circuit Judge needs your help. If you're interested in volunteering with the campaign, please reach them using any of the methods below:
Apparently Judge Weill does not serve up the kind of justice preferred by Ms. Hardwick. Here is the kind of justice she likes: Getting judges to bend the law for her. It seems Ms. Hardwick quit paying her mortgage in October 2013. The lender moved to foreclose on the house several months later but the day before the sale, our social justice attorney got Judge Denise Owens to stop the foreclosure sale. She was a Jackson Municipal Court Judge when the foreclosure sale was supposed to take place. Judge Owens issued a preliminary injunction on April 17 and a temporary restraining order on April 8 against Bank of America.
Ms. Hardwick claimed the lender rejected her attempts to modify her loan or "work with her" on the payments. How many homeowners who lost their homes in Hinds County wish they could enjoy such special treatment? Meet social justice in Hinds County.

A sad combination of Grievance and Entitlement. O tempora, O mores!
I am not an attorney but this seems like a matter for the State Bar Association. To issue a blanket statement that "never seen him be fair and impartial" appears to me to be unethical and libelous from an Officer of the Court. Some of you who enjoy this professional status could enlighten us, please.
I would be frightened to go before a judge like Hardwick. Those statements might likely come back on her one day.
I don't think that email was a good idea on her part. What was she thinking?
If she thinks Weil was unfair and impartial before, wait until the next time she is before him.
As an attorney, I can't understand why a licensed attorney would be dumb enough to put that in writing. It only demonstrates her lack of deference for the court and the law. And it can only hurt her reputation as an attorney.
This is a biased and prejudicial statement from one of Jackson's JUDGES. If this is not reason enough to move north, south, east, or west, I don't know what else you need to know.
A matter for the State Bar? ROFLMAO Yup, that will get some attention.
3:00 PM
Writing that email was a Pretty good idea if you think about it.
Now he has to recuse himself in cases where she is involved.
That can be very lucrative.
Dig up Chockwe's dead ass and ask him about how much coin he made by getting lawyers away from Yerger.
Hey, KF, it's worth reading this bat$h!+ crazy woman's letter to Mississippi Home Corp (Exhibit 1 to her Petition for Prelim Injunction, page 6 of 13). Note the last paragraph on the first page of the letter. I wonder who that meany circuit court judge is that reduced her exorbitant bills for court-appointed defense services? Only a racist bigot would look out for taxpayer funds by rejecting bogus billing statements, right?
I am with you @3:38 PM...our late "police murdering" mayor chokeweed was sanctioned several times by the State Bar for his antics in court yet like that proverbial turd that won't flush he kept floating up!
She lost the judge job when Yarber took over. Weill can be a bit over the top at times, but if you think you have a grievance that there is a remedy for, you go to Judicial Performance, you don't publish crap like this.
I've seen Ms. Hardwick perform in court as an attorney. Marginal performer, not very effective from my view, which was admittedly, very brief.
Is this lady black? Everything makes sense if she is.
She makes educated black women look really bad. You want people to stop treating you like a moron? Stop acting like one.
Imhotep. Cracks me up every single time I read that guy's name.
"Ali attended Cumberland Law School in Birmingham and later clerked with Judge Tomie Green. "
Waiting for the third strike now....
"he shared office space with the late Mayor Chokwe Lumumba, Atty. Barry Howard and Atty. Imhotep Alkebulan. "
Bingo - strike three!
Racism is alive and well in Mississippi, thanks to Judge Hardwick.
Welcome to Rankin and Madison County y'all!

"The constitution serves to equalize class, race, crimes, etcetera, and be fair and impartial, and that's what I know that i succeeded at doing on the bench here."
Kinda going back on that statement I see.
What is the monthly mortgage on an 80K home loan? Did she get to keep the house?
How much do lawyers make?
@4:16, 4:53 & 4:57: You people (and I am using the term loosely)are so filled with hate and bigotry. You can't let Mayor Lumumba rest in peace because you know that you have no chances of ever accomplishing in your miserable lives one iota of what he accomplished in his... Bash on, haters! Madison and Rankin can have you!
Just being real 4:54 just being real. Please do share with us exactly in your opinion, what Lumumba accomplished in his life which is worthy of discussion and NOT racially motivated.
Just as i suspected... crickets and more crickets, maybe throw in some bullfrogs if you like.
"You can't let Mayor Lumumba rest in peace because you know that you have no chances of ever accomplishing in your miserable lives one iota of what he accomplished in his... "
You mean that whole thing about being involved in murdering a policeman - yeah, you're right, I never accomplished that.
There is nothing racist in this email. You are some dumb racist idiots on here. I am sure you devils teach Sunday school at church to your little devil children. I hope you let them read some if the racist devilish comments you haters leave on here.
9:23 I know you don't know how to communicate effectively but no one knows to whom you are replying - the white racists, or the black racists. Lumumba was a devil of a black racist, as bad as David Duke in his own way.
I'm still pondering what accomplishments we could credit to Lumumba. He raised our water bills. Does that count?
