Republican Chris McDaniel today echoed statements Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) made on the Mark Levin show Monday.
"The allegations of criminal misconduct against the Cochran campaign and his close associates continue to mount," McDaniel said. "Mississippians deserve a full accounting of the unbecoming tactics the Cochran campaign used in their attempt to drive ineligible voters to the polls in June."
McDaniel made the comments after Sen. Cruz joined Mark Levin's national radio pro and blasted the GOP's strategy of vilifying conservatives in order to recruit Democrats.
"What happened in Mississippi was appalling," Cruz told Levin Monday night. "The ads [Cochrna] ran were racially-charged false attacks and there were explicit promises to continue and expand the welfare state," Cruz said. "And nobody has suggested that the Democrats who voted in the primary will actually vote Republican in the general election," he added. "Instead, they were just recruited to decide who the Republican nominee was and that's unprincipled and it's wrong."
"I very much hope that no Republican was involved in voter fraud," he continued. Cruz said the allegations need to be vigorously investigated and anyone involved in criminal conduct should be prosecuted. "The voters of Mississippi deserve to know the truth," the Senator from Texas concluded.

1. How far can self adulation take you?
Nice to know that McDaniel's decision to go forward had nothing to do with facts, and that his decision instead is grounded on comments made by Ted Cruz on the Mark Levin Show. He knows that Cruz is speculating and does likely has no more information about this than anyone else.
2. How predictable
A few minutes before this went up, I posted a comment on Cochran Campaign Releases Its Own Numbers, writing:
"What do you think McDaniel is going to do when both sides finish examining the polls and it turns out that Cochran won. Do you think McDaniel will finally concede defeat?
Over the part few days, McDaniel has been relatively quiet about the "vote buying" allegations. Nothing much about it since he sent out the email asking for donations and a few resulting media appearances.
My guess is, McDaniel knows the cross over challenge will fail and is waiting for it to be conformed then it's back to the voter fraud nonsense. How long can he drag this out?"
Nice to know we are all on the same page.
Hey...That's Ronny Lott's job. "I DEMAND AN INVESTIAGTION" Ronny Loser
I see how this works. Make baseless unsupported allegations of voter fraud, which in turns lead your flock to make baseless unsupported allegations of voter fraud, and then demand an investigation based upon baseless unsupported allegations of voter fraud you initiated with no basis.
Reply to 1:25 - It makes no more sense to drag this out with no proof than it does to go into a nursing home and take photos. If you drag this out and in the end have nowhere near enough proof you have destroyed your political career. I must assume they are finding something. Likewise with the nursing home - Would anybody think you could gain votes with nursing home photos? No way. You might gain a few, but would loose many many more. I must assume the blogger actied without campaign approval. I know these guys are not the sharpest politicians, but that does not make them complete morons.
Well we all know he has no "primary" debt. However, given he's a trail lawyer that could mean he's millions in the hole with run off debt. So if money isn't the end game here, what is? Fox has passed on offering him a gig and surely no one in radio is still looking at him. He has less of a statewide political future than CoCo the drag queen. And my Lord should a well spoken black democrat come along and unseat him in Jones county, he might burn the Capital down. It really is at the point his family or law partners need to call the men in white coats. He is either bat shit crazy or has a brain tumor. Get this poor man an MRI of the head to find the tumor.
Ted Cruz can kiss my grits.
McDaniel is just CRAZY!! He reminds me of Jim Jones!!!
"He has less of a statewide political future than CoCo the drag queen. And my Lord should a well spoken black democrat come along and unseat him in Jones county, he might burn the Capital down."
We have a winner.
Reminds me of the Conway Twitty song "Louisiana Women and Mississippi Man"!
Temper, Temper. Funny, when you back somebody in the corner with the TRUTH, they become irate. Truth is, what is so wrong with both sides looking at the votes. UNLESS YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO HIDE! That is fair and square. Not something the Barbour/Cochran machine understands.
Notice how he says the "allegations" continue to mount, but not that the "proof" continues to mount. As a lawyer, and one who used to do a good bit of defense work, he should know better. Sure, there are lots of allegations and rumors and speculation going on....but where is the proof, the evidence ? There are allegations that Chris was involved in the St Catherine's scandal, so does the fact that it has been alleged mean it's true, Chris ? One could "allege" Chris is a member of the KKK, that he is an adulterer, that he is a pedophile, a drug addict, etc, but that doesn't mean it's true, does it Chris ? Come on. Stop with the "allegations" and show us some "proof". Allegations are easy and can be made by anyone. Proof may be there, and if so, it should be taken seriously. But it's time to stop with the allegations and show some proof. You keep saying it was wrong for Thad and his people to have made allegations against you with no proof, but yet you and your supporters doing the same thing.
What the "Barbour/Cochran machine" does not understand is why, in order to satisfy the unreasonable demands of a few, this extremely time consuming exercise is necessary in this case. This is not a case where the end result might change. It's not even close. It should not be the case that a small minority of very vocal persons making unsubstantiated allegations can hold the rest of the state hostage to a timely, costly procedure that, at the end of the day, is going to change nothing.

Usually truth is supported by facts. Here you have no facts supporting wrongdoing. Except the FACT that McDaniel's ego is so big that his brain cannot accept the FACT that he was out maneuvered and has lost this election. McDaniel's problem going into the primary was that he continued to appeal to the far right and those that had already voted for him in the first primary. He did nothing to try to attract the people who were still on the fence or who didn't bother to vote in the first place.
If you want to continue giving money in the service of some empty suit's vanity, please do so. But stop with the denial and please stop with the crusade for truth bs.
McDaniel wants to cut government spending? I know where to start: drop your baseless suit against the Secretary of State (which is being defended against with state funds). That way, we not only cut state spending, but the federal court would not have to spend its precious time listening to "I'm Chris McDaniel and I didn't win! Waaaah waaah," and it will be able to get around to hearing actual cases with real problems in them. There you go McDaniel, now you can actually have a specific answer the next time someone asks you what you would cut in government spending.
Why does McDaniel feel the need to include Cruz's comments? It's not like Cruz has been down here heading the investigation or anything. And didn't McDaniel already call for an investigation. This time it's like "look y'all I am bit the only one" when Cruz's knowledge on this likely comes from McDaniel, not personally of course but his from McDaniel's allegations. It's all circular. When you all find that proof and that truth you are posting about, please let someone know. Otherwise, this whole thing is just feeding itself.
I am curious just as 1:18 is about what McDaniel will do when the County by County review process does not yield any material change in the election results. I predict another overblown frivolous accusation. As for the claim that voters who do not intend to support the party nominee in November should not be allowed to vote, if a voter did not vote in the other Party A primary, they are allowed to vote in the Party B primary unless they publicly announce their intention NOT to support the Party B nominee in the general election. I have lost count of how many McDaniel supporters have said PUBLICLY that they will NOT vote for Cochran in the general election. Should their votes be disqualified? I submit also that if they get their wish for a new election, those people absolutely should be disqualified.
Kettle kettle black black
All kitchen wares are talkin the smack.
All the while the house in which they reside is on fire,
All for a seat, a lustrous desire!
Whence forth a democrat came,
To put the grand ole party to shame,
He seeks the seat as well,
So that his life will be quite swell.
Who will win this war come November?
All bets are off for now as they shake and shiver.
Divide and conquer all the way round,
Throwing the people into the Mississippi sound!
As they swim out and come upon shore,
They scratch their heads with stories and lore.
Book deals, lawsuits, etc, and more!
All in the name of settling political a score.
I'm not surprised.
The accusations of voting fraud are working so he has to deflect.
That his campaign was far more flagrant in their attempts to mislead voters is something Chris can't acknowledge!
Chris,
Hate to break it to you man, but you blew it. A week and a half ago you could have just bowed out. You might have ruined your chances for office Jones County, but who knows, a few years later people are more forgiving. And you and your supporters could have spent the next ten years talking about how the election was stolen and your ego would be left in tact. It would be like your own personal Bush v. Gore. Instead, you bought into your own propaganda and when this is finally over, you will know with absolute certainty that you lost.
Milking his 15 minutes of fame. I think he will continue as long as there is a microphone for him.
I heard an allegation that a flying saucer was seen over Hinds county and aliens took over the bodies of Republicans and all voted for Cochran.
In fact, the MS and Texas Tea Party members are alleged to be the only real humans left on earth.
McDaniel Camp hires Brazilian soccer coach to plot comeback. They agree there's still hope.
Where do we think McDoogle will go when this is finally over???? He certainly can't stay in Mississippi!!! He'll wake up one day and realize he can no longer show his face here! And, guess what, it will all be the fault of those mean ole Cochran supporters - WAH! WAH! I want my Senate seat, they stole from me!!! LOL
And they said mean things about me
"A well-spoken black democrat"? Hmmm. I think the last time we heard that it was Crazy Uncle Joe defining the guy who is now president. Instead, though, he included 'clean and articulate'.
You Haley people are so crafty in your code words.
Just as I suspected. Haley and the boys are all posting one right after the other (look at the time stamps ^^^^) attempting to out-silly each other.
They're either assembled at a frat house in Oxford or at Republican headquarters ordering club sandwiches and pecking away. Haley's only instruction? "Keep it sorta clean and do not post Hotty Toddy as that will give us away!"
Can Hayes Dent be far behind. He was in the National Guard, ya know, and has been identified by the regime as having leadership talent.
4:42 am Poor baby! You have to believe that , don't you?
Truth is many of us citizens are just PO'd at your antics!
I've never seen so many Mississippians united about anything like they are for disdain for the Tea Party .
Nor have I seen so many determined to call BS on McDaniel and his people.
As for me, I'm over 65, WASP,comfortable enough to have retired, and living in my own home in Hinds! I have no affiliation with either campaign and vote for the person not the party! I served my country and have the medals to prove it on my walls!
Who the hell do you think YOU are?!
I agree there should be an investigation. To me, it appeared that there was coordination between the McDaniel camp and Ricky Cole prior to the run-off and thereafter. Let's investigate that.
