Trollfest '09
Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.
Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).
Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.
Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".
In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.
In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.
Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.
Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!
This is definitely a Beaver production.

Jackson Jambalaya is the home of Trollfest '07. Catch this great event which promises to leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Sonjay Poontang and his band headline the night with a special steel cage, no time limit "loser must leave town" bout between Alan Lange and "Big Cat"Donna Ladd following afterwards. Dr. Heddy Matthias and Lori Gregory will face off in the undercard dueling with dangling participles and other um, devices. Robbie Bell will perform Her two latest songs: My Best Friends are in the Media and Mama's, Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be George Bell. Sid Salter of The Clarion-Ledger will host "Pin the Tail on the Trial Lawyer", sponsored by State Farm.
There will be a hugging booth where in exchange for your young son, Frank Melton will give you a loooong hug. Trollfest will have a dunking booth where Muhammed the terrorist will curse you to Allah as you try to hit a target that will drop him into a vat of pig grease. However, in the true spirit of Separate But Equal, Don Imus and someone from NE Jackson will also sit in the dunking booth for an equal amount of time. Tom Head will give a reading for two hours on why he can't figure out who the hell he is. Cliff Cargill will give lessons with his .80 caliber desert eagle, using Frank Melton photos as targets. Tackleberry will be on hand for an autograph session. KIM Waaaaaade will be passing out free titles and deeds to crackhouses formerly owned by The Wood Street Players.

As an atheist, I get so sick of the "within 1500 of a church" shit. In Mississippi, you are always within 1500 feet of some house of God since we have the highest church per capita in the whole world.
This is mildly interesting to me because I think I've heard of this guy before. I'm sure the lawyers are interested, but do any non-lawyers care about a meth bust?
A little help with the charges, please. So, 1) possession and 2) possession with intent to distribute for 1/10th of a gram but not more than 2 grams. Is that right? According to my superior Googling skills (not to be confused with my ogling skills), 2 grams is about the weight of two large paper clips. Where does the intent to distribute charge come in? Can we presume he tried to sell it to an undercover investigator?
Sad to see a person throw away opportunity - any opportunity - because of drugs. But it's not an excuse to start arguing that we should legalize everything.
As a non-atheist, I get so sick of atheists' intolerance for church-goers and houses of worship. Cuba and North Korea each have far fewer churches than Mississippi. Try one - you might like it.
Where are the other dozen or so peoples picture who got busted for meth in the state yesterday?
I am glad to see that this snake has finally been caught! Close to a church or not, little meth or alot, doesn't matter! He is a low life person that lives a poor life style and should not be allowed to have a bar number.
Agree 2:22. I've found that the most intolerant people are those that constantly preach tolerance.
Sorry for him. Seemed pretty competent and easy to work with in bad (divorce) cases where attys usually treat each other like crap.
I am not an atheist, but I do think it is so very silly for "Christians" to insist on their right to dominate all public pollicy and then when that's not the case to whine about it and call themselves persecuted. I do "believe" that is what the atheist above finds objectionable. Me too.
If the 2 grams was in seperate bags thats intent to distribute. If it was personal it was be in one bag usually. So thats how they can throw that in.
I'd be curious to see a First Amendment challenge to those "near a church" laws. I am a little puzzled how anyone in society is more injured because I have meth in my pocket near a church and not near, oh, Walmart.
But some religious people are just professionally offended. "Truly, I say unto you, they already have their reward."
"church per capita"....thinking the first poster missed the purpose of this entire blog post. If you don't like the capita ration in MS - move :-)
Actually, the religious are the most judgmental group in the world. All that love thy neighbor crap, only as long as they go to your church with you.
Been on the opposite side of him before. Seemed like a nice guy. Tough break. Hopefully, this is not a career destroyer.
This is a felony affidavit. If convicted of a felony his career is pretty much destroyed as a lawyer. Tough venue in which to be accused of a crime.
Thanks for the answer @4:22.
As for the holy war that has nearly hijacked this thread, maybe we could all agree to give up the "near a church" laws on one side and the hate crime laws on the other and call it even. Just a thought.
I know Louis very well, and this is absolutely shocking. I hate to hear this, but even more interesting I find it almost amusing how ignorant people are of the fact that we are in the Bible belt. It's always been like this and it's prolly never gonna change. I'm the son of a southern Baptist preacher and yes there are very judgemental people associated with the "church" but that doesn't give you and reason to get on here and publically blast the church. I am glad I came across you "atheist" because now I have someone else to pray for. That's very exciting for me and several of my fellow believers who aren't judgmental, but just enjoy seeing God work in people's lives who go against him. The day of awakening is coming....
MS passed the "1500 feet of a church" amendment because of the increasing use of illegal drugs (specially meth) among Southern Baptists. I will pray for Southern Baptists.
First thought when I saw that pic was "duuuuuuh, don't you worry, don't you fear, Robin Hood will soon be here"
I could care less if anyone goes to church or has whatever faith basis they choose, just don't ask me to have the same or give you special rights over me because you believe in a God or go to church. And yes, I have to hold my tongue in public for fear that a mass of pitchforked and torch bearing locals would show up outside of my house at night, all in the name of God of course.
If I'm not mistaken, the "near a church" type enhancements only apply to sale or possession with intent. This could be an overcharge.
More laws keep us safe, though, right?
CRIMINALIZE ALL CONDUCT!
nevermind, just saw the second affidavit.
its not just churches, the statute doubles the sentence when a drug offense is within 1500 feet of a school, church, theatre, park and several other facilities.
the enhancement penalties are in place to hopefully deter the individuals from selling drugs in or around places like churches and schools.
I've worked against Louis and then had other opportunities to sit w/ him in court to chat while waiting to start the day. He was always nice and professional, so whether he loses his license or not, I hope he can at least get his life in order when this is over.
Churches are very often full of kids for daycare centers, preschools, afterschool care, Vacation Bible School, etc. This similarity to schools (i.e., full of young kids) is why schools and churches are lumped together in trying to keep kids from meth dealers. IMHO that's a valid use of laws.
Optional Celebrity Gossip section: a neighbor told me his nephew got a job in Hollywood working on the show Two and a Half Men. He couldn't understand why he had to drive Charlie Sheen to the dentist two or three times a weeks. Seems crystal meth ruins your gums no matter how much you're making ;-)
@9:37, re: full of kids--So is Chuckee Cheese and Walmart.
This is not surprising...have known him for a long time and seen his rapid decline. Hopefully this is enough of a wake-up call to clean up his life regardless of the career he has thrown away. Goes to show the law usually does catch up to you even if in that line of work.
I too have seen his rapid decline behind closed doors for the past two years.
This doesn't surprise me at all. I'm quite sure he'll minimize the whole incident as soon as people will listen .
Less than 2g? That's barely enough to be a fat sack. Pretrial diversion for 12 months, expunged, no harm no foul no felony. Write it down.
Move along. Nothing to see here.
He has always been so full of HIMSELF that its about time he got what was comming to him!!
Snitch-Proof Tips for Riding Dirty
Option 1: with less than 2 grams, keep Baggie in lap with opening partially open. When you see blue lights, casually take Baggie and hold upside down from the bottom, as you begin to reduce speed. Ball up Baggie and swallow. No product, no residue, no jail.
Option 2: in shared vehicle, place product in trunk in spare tire well under spare tire, completely concealed from view. Tightly secure tire well and re-cover. If found, say "that s--t's not mine. I want a lawyer." State can't prove knowing and willful possession.
Holding is dangerous. Jail sucks. Be smart.
This thread was a Doonesbury trip. Thanks KF.
Why in the heck is a person giving tips on "how to ride dirty" SERIOUSLY? Louis knows better, he knows how drugs kill families and their children's lives.I dont care if what he had was small and BLAH,BLAH.
He is grown...and now his family suffers for what he has done...Sad day indeed...He put himself before his kids. I hope he does Time...@ Mr. snitch...shame on you! I hope you dont have children, if so...our future is doomed!
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
And the self righteous flock to the scene. Give yourselves a pat on the back.
Know Louis "Joey" very well up-setting to see this happen to him. Hopefully this will be a wake up call for him to get his life on the right path. He is such a good person & he knows better than this.
Hey 7:47--go take a midol, and when you feel better, come back to the real world
i think it is funny that this has happened to him. he has always thought he was above the law. serves him right.
Churches (and some schools) are typically full of decent people. Wal-Mart usually has a meth head or two walking around at 3:00 a.m. because they can't sleep and don't have a job to wake up early for.. The laws are to keep drugs away from places where honest, productive members of society typically gather.
This has to be really embarrassing for His exwife courtney and two kids.... He wouldn't pay his child support before, guess he won't pay it at all now! Guess we know where is child support was going...
honest and productive, love it. When I was as kid, the preacher at the baptist church downtown was run off for screwing the staff. You are a moron, and thinking that by going to a church and reading proverbs you magically are better than those in Wal-mart also makes you a hypocrite. I would say that the ratio of normal to the morally FUBAR in a Wal-mart verses say your church is no different. In fact, religion attracts the wounded and guilty, so it is probably higher. Nice try, please try again.
I tend to agree with a prior commenter who believes the added penalties are to protect children. Of course, children are at other places at various times. However, at schools and church daycares and theaters, there are usually more children than responsible adults, and typically there are few parents, if any. Compare with places like Wal Mart. More times than not, if children are present, parents are, too.
7:47 "Why in the heck is a person giving tips on how to ride dirty?"
Because jail sucks, dummy.
Like clockwork out come the friends of the ex-spouse to make a "valuable" contribution to the discussion.
He was loud, obnoxious, a little mans syndrome, always the loudest in the group, hey! Look at me! How cool am I, out with a nasty scank looking stripper twenty five years younger than me.
Wow, looks like michael Guest is gona take of him.
Check Club Magoo's facebook page photos for 5/31 and you can find a few of him having a good time. He has to be the oldest guy there.
I hate to hear about this situation... I've known him for a few years and never would have put his face with this. People can say what they want or how they feel about this but true it's wrong but there are devils that go to church too. I don't judge or try to figure out why people go to certain things in life but you truly don't know how low or empty or what there personal life is. Church or Walmart or where ever.. I am sure his mind wasn't in the right place. Drugs are every were here and we are all human so give him a break....

Sad to say but this man defended my ex who is a known drug dealer in a family law case. He was very shady and God don't like ugly. HAHAHHAHAHAhAhAH. Which crooked lawyer or judge is next?!!!
well now i know why he couldnt pay me the money he owes me and it is a great amount of money so if you work on anything for him collect your money up front or you will never get it
I am informed that Mr. Guichet had a mandatory appearance in Circuit Court today and he was not present. Bond revoked - Bench warrant issued.
I do believe that the law pertaining to possessing drugs with intent to distribute within so many feet of a church, school or daycare is especially pertinent to poorer, run-down neighborhoods and areas where drug dealers are absolutely brazen and will not think twice about doing deals in broad daylight in church parking lots. Or worse. You have to stop and consider ALL the areas everywhere that this law covers; not just middle-class and upperscale.
Awesome prison face! I hope he rots in jail and then they feed him to the buzzards which would probably not even feed on his sorry corpse
i hired mr guichet this year to defend me and just about the time i was to appear in court his license was suspended . i had to get a public defender . actually the public defender did a great job i got a fair judgement i got what i deserved . i had a possesion charge and i got 5 years probastion now . i am in recovery for th rest of my life i am clean and sober and it feels great . i hope guichet gets help turns himself in and get all this over with . i think he is a good man who needs direction and a life over haul . no one on here is able to throw any stones at anyone .
I grew up knowing Joey and hid folks. Just really shocked!! Hope he is caught/ found safe and returned to his current home. He has beautiful children that he needs to think about. He needs to man up.
I went to school with. Was a punk. Poor little rich boy
