Hinds County Sheriff Malcolm McMillin raised $33,620 this period and $97,784 year to date. He reported cash on hand of $14,875. His opponent, Tyrone Lewis, raised only $7,180 this period and $61,458 year to date. He reports $26,890 cash on hand.
Meanwhile, here are some of Tyrone's friends at his latest press conference:
Yup. A truly diverse groups: acorns, walnuts, almonds, and a few chestnuts.

Will the walking around money help or will all Mac's voters be in the R line?
Wow. Chokwe Lumumba blames the Sheriff for the crime that is being committed, and says that it is time for Hinds County to elect a black sheriff.
And that poor Constable from Byram. How did he draw the short straw and have to stand up there and endorse Lewis? He looks like he can't doesn't even believe what he's saying.
We can only hope Mac's voters realize that Tater doesn't respond to a call to the Sheriff's department when you are in danger. Mac's people do.
WOW!
Think I might get an early start in the morning looking at new houses in Madison County.
So, let's see. Bill Chandler, illegal alien supporter; Brenda Scott, union leach; some token white chump constable, who must have been reprimanded by the Sheriff; guys wearing the uniform of the Nation of Islam, Tony Yarber included; Chokewa-kill whitey-Lumumba and, of course, Tyrone "Free the Land" Lewis. Ben Allen and David Watkins must be about to shit. When this group of aging radicals, ass-kissers, and losers take over Jackson is truly done. Can anyone say "sanctuary city". All you developers best be paying attention.
Ben Allen has had a hard enough time selling Jackson with Mac as HC Sheriff. If Tyrone wins, Ben's job difficulty factor will increase by 10.
There's not a ton of hope for the city, but with Mac gone, there will be no hope.
Reed, you've just depressed me. I hope Mac will win and Jackson will recover.
To 7:38PM:
I agree that Jackson's problems will only get worse when these "losers take over Jackson." The "token white chump constable" is Jon Lewis who is a hot-headed cop-wanna-be. Maybe Tyrone will make him undersheriff. If so, pray for all of Hinds County.

Not a Hinds County resident, but the thought of Tyrone Lewis as Sheriff is frightening. Take a look at how seriously the Mississippi Supreme Court has taken his opinion on the occasions Lewis has rented himself out as a "police expert witness" on behalf of scumbags suing law enforcement agencies.
As I was driving through Jackson the other day, observing the candidates running, it hit me that there are not any candidates running in Hinds County who are even remotely qualified, professionally or based on ethics. The perennial candidate for the Circuit Clerk position was caught on camera violating campaign laws, as was Tyrone. Just a bunch of folks who are incapable of holding a real job and just want to get on the public dole with a self-esteem boosting title. City government in Jackson is essentially run along the lines of the sleazier bannanna republics.
I suggest Jackson change its promotional theme from "The Bold New City" to "Beirut South"
6:56, its not any better in Madison County. They have kids running around with Ak47 and Canton PD is soo broke they can't afford donuts to feed the officers.
Wow! "it takes a village to raise a child"
Was this the audition for the village idiot?
Micah, Madison and Hinds counties are like day and nite.
Micah,
When I said I would get an early start looking at houses in Madison County, I failed to clarify that I would not be visiting Canton. Canton is a small town version of Jackson. They have a lot in common and the core problem with both is painfully obvious to anyone who cares to open their eyes.
I find it amazing that Tyrone has gone undetected on the issues of his past in this election. From a demotion at JPD for letting his son use the training facility like a nightclub (and profit from it?) to the Supreme Court of MS saying he is guilty of perjury. I wonder how a sheriff who will obviously get sued often will defend himself or his department if the court knows he lies under oath.Tyrone said on WLBT that the judge limited what he could say in court but I seriously doubt he intended for the truth to be withheld. Help us all in Hinds County if this guy is sheriff
I guess everyone has forgotten about the sergeants exam at jpd?
Please remind me about what happened with the exam.
Seems the test was given out a little early to a select few people!
If it were given out early it would be an indicator of Tyrone's methods of handling things which is disheartening since the chief/sheriff was the person responsible for presenting the opporitunity to take that test for the first time in many years. I guess Tyrone doesn't care if you're qualified if you can "pass" the test. There has to be a direct correlation between low moral and the "leadership" of Tyrone. Does anyone else suspect that the ten percent reduction in crime he takes credit for in his 15 mins of fame is due to the fact that Mac was his predecessor? Judy sayin'
