The ABC's made a little bit of progress in reducing the backlog at its warehouse last week.
The backlog dipped to 165,425 cases, the lowest it has been since February 8. It is a 27% reduction from the backlog of 220,027 cases reported on March 1.
Although there is improvement shown in the chart above, it should be noted the backlog has stayed relatively flat for the last four weeks.
The chart of the difference between cases shipped and cases ordered shows the problem.
Make no mistake, the Ruan workers at the warehouse are busting their balls shipping product. However, ABC has not been able to get a breather for the last month as the difference between cases ordered and cases shipped is relatively even since March 1.
What ABC needs is several weeks where shipments outpace orders by at least 10,000 cases. If that happens, one would expect to see a substantial reduction in the backlog.
The cycle time from order to shipped fell to 16.8 days, the lowest it has been since Valentine's Day but a far cry from the standard shipping time of 2-3 days.

Or they can work overtime to eliminate the backlog
Your definition of 'busting balls' sure does not comport with that of any other living human being.
There is only one way to spell I N C O M P E T E N C E and it does not contain a B, U, S, G, A, or L.
Solution is simple. Allow distributors to ship directly to stores (like every other retail product in the state). But that would be common sense which apparently runs contrary to political patronage.
They're probably working lots of overtime just to tread water.
I wonder if the ABC warehouse still has ponds of alcohol in the floor.
Our self-interested shitty Legislature and do-nothing Lt. Governor need to amend the allegedly defective public initiative right to pass legislation via voting to bypass our self-interested shitty Legislature and do-nothing Lt. Governor. The citizens of Mississippi should be able to buy liquor without the socialist ABC system like the vast majority of other states.
But, 5:52, then the governor would not be able to fill several political patronage positions.
