It's nice to hear a dose of sanity in college football when it is so rarely spoken today. LSU Coach Lane Kiffin said what he thought about the SEC adding a ninth conference game to the college football schedule. Hint: He didn't praise the decision.

Did you use Kiffin and sanity in the same sentence? Of course he is opposed. He loses a cream puff on the schedule and that can cost him big bonus money (an his promise to win a natty). He has a bit of a conflict of interest in the matter.

The SEC is so profoundly overrated. They play easy non conference games and then go .500 in the SEC playing middling teams and then beat their chest that “it just means more”.
The sidewalk fans (most of which have never stepped foot on a SEC campus, much less got their GED), follow that’s clowns like a cult.
Hey SEC fans, get your head out of your asses. There is more to life than seer sucker suits and visors, getting wasted on the weekends and drinking down your money when you should be putting in your 401k and having your chubby wife drive your redneck ass around that campus that admits 98% of all applicants.
Kiffin is prominent in "news" because of his relative "youth" in contrast to older, gruffer, more authentic coaches who have never rented a dog for showbusiness, nor done hot yoga to disguise their alcoholism and impulse control issues. He "looks good" on TV....which is all that apparently matters anymore. UM's football run last year was bought/paid for by its Generous NIL Collective. Nothing more. Shifflin will be out at LSU in 3.

I generally don't post LSU stuff on this site. However, Kiffin has been newsworthy over the last six months. I posted his remarks because it needs to be said.
The SEC is committing suicide yet again with its plan to add 9 games. Good non conference games are going to be a thing of the past while the good teams knock each other off.
Sankey wanted $$$$. Unfortunately, not enough schools saw it Kiffin's way .

Have to agree with lot of this.....
Kiffin will be out of lsu fast. A this very moment, he is making excuses as to why the tigger nation shouldn't be expecting immediate results in the football program. One can simply look at his face and see that he has seen the lights in the tunnel and the train is quickly coming for him. He's over-loaded both his twitter account and his mouth and it's time to see lsu's return on investment...but it ain't coming and if it ever will...it won't be fast enough. Can lsu spell s-n-o-o-k-e-r-e-d...nope because Kelly snookered them first and they didn't learn from that fiasco. The Vaught is waiting for that sunny day in September when the coonies slink into Oxford. Looking forward to it...9 sec games or not! :D

There is ZERO reason for a conference championship game in the CFP era. SEC schools need strength of schedule muscle. That will come from better opponents, i.e. 9 conference games.
