I have to admit that the post was very well written. Concise, decent grammar and punctuation, and it follows a nice outline of the perceived problems. It was written by a moron who wants to play victim, blame whitey, and live off of other people's money. But at least it was nicely readable. This comrade deserves a pat on the back.

Honestly, the post is not that off base and it is not necessarily a left position. There are so many pariah REITs and PE /other captial backed rental firms in the city participating in horrible practices. Just look at JXN water and how many weren't even paying for water bills.
Imagine for example if the city worked on providing local landlords property tax credits for upgrading HVAC/Windows for rental homes. The City works with Entergy to calculate if at scale this really frees up a bunch of energy that they can then resell at a better rate to industry. Tenants currently stuck in $300 energy bills for their rentals all of a sudden get an extra $150-$200 a month. They start spending it. Everyone wins.
I ended up in North Jackson(you know, the one they say is the rich white folks part of town) on Ridgewood Road yesterday between County Line and Beasley/Atkins. Maaaannnnn, it sure has changed since the Lumumba administration. People all in the streets, broke down cars everywhere, homeless people, abandoned properties, etc. It's rough. I agree, we shouldn't revitalize it. We should allow Rukia and her friends to keep on doing what they've been doing the last 8 years making a difference.
