Former Pearl Police Officer Christopher Lofton just can't seem to stay out of trouble.
The Capitol Police arrested Lofton yesterday and charged him with witness tampering.
The Rankin County grand jury indicted him on July 28, 2025 for grand larceny.
Lofton allegedly stole $32,000 from a dying woman's house. The now-former Pearl Police officer allegedly pilfered the money during a call to the medical emergency. An MBI affidavit states:
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Dewey Arthur.

Another example of a flawed pre-employment background investigation.
12;20 please tell us about his background if you know. it appears at this point he was a professional criminal thug.
Have a badge and a gun the law doesn’t apply to you
Back the blue. Thank you for your service. Blah, blah, blah. When convicted, this boy needs to do time in the yard with the general population, as does any of these crooked badgesacks.
This thing called a "criminal mindset" has always been very real in every walk of life. They continue to offend their whole life, like a dog that bites.
