Ag Commish Andrew Gipson issued the following statement.
The Mississippi Agriculture and Livestock Theft Bureau (MALTB) recovered a racehorse stolen from Mississippi in Todd County, Kentucky.
On February 23, 2024, the Terry Police Department took an initial report of a stolen racehorse, worth $7,000. On February 28, 2024, the Mississippi Agriculture & Livestock Theft Bureau (MALTB) was asked to assist in the investigation. The MALTB took the lead on the investigation.
During the investigation, it was learned the racehorse may have been stolen by fraudulent means. Additional information surfaced that led MALTB to Todd County, Kentucky. The horse was later located in Kentucky and identified as the stolen racehorse.
With the help of the Todd County Sherriff, MALTB was able to recover the stolen racehorse and have it returned to Mississippi. This is an open and ongoing criminal investigation into the theft of livestock.
MALTB Director Dean Barnard would like to commend the MALTB investigators and the Sheriff of Todd County for quickly locating and recovering the stolen racehorse.

Who wrote this, or what?
The hat always gets his man/horse.
Kentucky has been stealing wins in the Hump for several years now...
Darn, it was a dark horse for the Derby.
Hee Haw.
The Mississippi Agriculture and Livestock Theft Bureau (MALTB) needs to hire a proofreader for the Mississippi Agriculture and Livestock Theft Bureau (MALTB) news releases.
“it was learned the racehorse may have been stolen by fraudulent means”. Stolen by honest means would have been a horse of a different color.
Wilbur got Mr. Ed back!
I just watched Jackie Chan’s Martial Arts Comedy Horse Movie Ride On so I’m getting a kick out of this.
Are there any government agencies that don’t have a police force? Do we have an agency that will look for stolen hunting dogs? Asking for a friend.
YAYHOO!
“wrapped in a sheet.”
you must think you’re casper the ghost?
lmaooooooo
Those guys in the AG unit don’t play. If you wanna steal anything in Mississippi, better go to Jackson. Don’t steal from a farm!!!
Fraudulent means of theft. Maybe, it could’ve been stolen by mistake. Like, they accidentally loaded up the wrong horse. I’ve seen this before. Probably out here in the country.
So horse was found but was anyone arrested? Charged? Who drove the truck?
Too bad they dont investigate stollen land. I got a story for the books.
