A handful of Darwin award winners-
Shocking
Good lord I’m a 42 year old millennial and I thought I was aging poorly.
These people look like the faces of meth!
Sad.
The Faces of Meth
Look at the ages compared to their pictures. Kids, this is why you don't do drugs, especially meth. So sad.
stinking methheads.
god must love em cause he make so many of them
Withdrawal will be a real bitch.
I hope, on follow-up, investigators will find out where they fence the copper, since by law, a scrap dealer cannot buy it without proper credentialing.
Based on appearance, and a due amount of profiling, I'd be amazed if the PoPo was not already keeping an eye on these citizens.
With those barber capes on, hopefully they are all about to get much needed haircuts and makeovers.
Sad. This is what no education & drug use looks like.
Show this to your kids to empower them to stay in school & get good grades.
Good job to the Byram Police.
If Byram can catch copper thieves, why can't the thieves be caught on I55 so we can actually have some light back on the interstate?
Someone had a great question---where are they selling the copper? Perhaps work backwards from receiver of stolen goods to the ones hitting the I55 lights.
Guess we know why the methhead scrappers steal copper wire rather than horses.
An act of terrorism? .....Electric Utility theft sabotage?...
That takes a lot of brass.
Yeah & wonder if it was taken to Greenville by Evan’s ? Bad choices for all as that’s probably what caused our outage last week.
This is why we can't have a nice state.
If they are going to steal copper, they should have thought BIGGER:

AT&T will put a gps tracker in the wires insulation. They will track the wire to a location, then report it to the Police. Not much Police work, except making the arrest and taking the credit.
Interesting how they attach a "value" to the stolen copper. Anyone who has had in-place copper stolen from one of their properties knows that copper metal "value" can be off by a whole decimal place.
I had $20,000 "worth" of copper stolen that cost about $110,000 to repurchase and install! Folks like these assholes above can actually make a property unsellable, because the cost to repurchase / install the copper can exceed the property's value! All it takes is a group of deadbeats like this and a few hours worth of work.
MAN, I hate thieves!!!
I am with the poster above. I am 42 and thought I looked a tad haggard for my age
but this post put a little pep in my step
Don't do meth kids.
Hats off to Chief Errington and his team. Chief Errington was my training officer in 2001 and was leader then. I could not be prouder of his and his leadership abilities and the entire team at Byram PD. Keep up the good work!
Why waste our time and money on these rednecks, arrest the b*stards buying this obviously stolen property. They probably can afford to skate, but at least it will cost them a lot of money for their “respectable” attorney fees.
If anyone needs a Queer Eye makeover, it's these guys!
Interesting note. I ran into an AT&T man on my farm in south Hinds Co last year. Thieves had stolen an entire stretch of wire and stripped it. He says it happens every week around Hinds Co. I asked him if law enforcement was any help. He says AT&T does not even report most of the thefts anymore. They have a protocol to document the theft. They then submit the costs to repair to the federal government. Feds reimburse them millions every year just in this area. Think about how much that adds up over the entire country. AT&T really has very little incentive to do anything about the thievery. Taxpayers foot the bill.
@8:04
Same reason they only go after prostitutes and John’s but never the pimps. If anyone knows the answer please indulge.
Waiting for one of these geniuses to climb a fence and steal some wire from an Entergy Sub-Station.
Maggie Wade would leave the studio to cover THAT one.

It happens all the time: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/shane-joseph-long-christopher-blair-wood-died-electrocution-breaking-into-power-substation-gainesville-georgia/
The problem is that, even if these future Darwin award winners are successful, they leave expensive repairs in their wake that the rate payers have to cover.
10:46 - I grew up with him. It's Reddy.
Offer 'em a deal to rat on the buyer.
What a concept!
Thank you, 5:22AM! That explains a great deal.
