The Pearl Police Department issued the following statement.
A motorcyclist is under arrest after leading a Pearl officer on a chase up I-55 Monday just after lunch.
According to detectives, a Pearl police officer observed a motorcycle with no tag traveling at a high rate of speed near Highway 80 and Bass Pro Drive and attempted to make a stop. The motorcyclist refused to pull over and tried to outrun the officer, getting on I-55 and heading north toward Jackson.
The fleeing motorcyclist, who police determined to be Justin Jerome Gatlin, 30, of Jackson, took the High Street Exit, at which point he lost control of his bike and wrecked. He did sustain minor injuries, but is expected to be okay.
While taking him into custody, officers found a gun on him.
Gatlin has been charged with Felony Fleeing, Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon, Reckless Driving, No Tag, and No Insurance.

The boy don't know this cop saved his crot-rocket-ass!
Lumumba yells to his friend, Ollie Ollie In Come Free! But.....didn't quite get to home base.
But, but, it's illegal for a convicted felon to possess a firearm. Maybe if there was another statute that made I-55 a "gun free zone" (GFZ) this would never have happened, because GFZs are so effective.
Pearl PD for the win !!
Outstanding !!!!!
Where’s a good light pole when u need one?
Hopefully he will be charged and prosecuted in Rankin County, not Hinds, otherwise it was all a waste of time.
Well, at least some junior or senior year medical student probably got an opportunity to apply some stitches at UMC.
So often do they flee that it would appear the rate of success must be rather high. Anybody have any reliable figures?
"He hit him". No he didn't. Anyone else notice the glock without a holster? Bet she's the kind that would scream at a police officer after the police officer shot the homicide suspect.
Head out on the highway…

Have you ever noticed how often Jackson residents, arrested by pure happenstance, happen to be felons in possession?
6:00 is dead-on. The list of his charges could most likely be applied to nearly any Charger/Challenger/rice-burner motorcycle driver on I-55 in Jackson.
How bad was the bike rider's pavement rash?
The only crime I see is nobody films in landscape mode.
5:52 - No Glock in this video. Looked carefully, frame by frame. That black thing was not a firearm of any kind. However, that is one dirty front seat area.

The SCOTUS pretty much scrapped those felon with gun statutes in Bruen. The US v Bullock case in Mississippi in June of 2023 tossed a similar possession case as unconstitutional based on Bruen.
SCOTUS has spoken.
7:14, I think you're wrong. Next you'll tell me that's not a stink-um pine tree hanging from the mirror.
Not so fast 7:29. You can read ten articles re Bruen and get seven different conclusions.

Continuation of Darwin’s theory. Seems to be common occurrence in Jackistan. Along with felons in possession of stolen vehicles and weapons, no licenses, insurance, and multiple catch and release. How can the government elected to protect the citizens think this is ok?

I read each of the decisions and formed my own opinion. You should try it.
As 12:09 states, many of these ferals could have/should have been arrested for various other laws broken.
Yet Democrats will read this and blame the owner of a Ford F150 passing through Jackson who was robbed of his firearm while eating lunch.
If we enforced the current laws, and had an effective judicial system, so much of the COJ's woes could be cured.
But Mississippi's race baiters and useless politicians benefit from the chaos, so I don't expect it to change.
