The city of Jackson issued the following statement.
Due to the effects of this morning’s severe weather and the likelihood of rain tonight, the City of Jackson has decided to postpone the 2023 Juneteenth Celebration. All activities are now slated for Monday, June 19.
The Family Street Festival will take place at the same time as previously scheduled at the Jackson Convention Complex on Monday. Gates open at 7 p.m. There will be entertainment, pop-up shops and food vendors. The fireworks display will begin at approximately 9:45 p.m.
We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to see you then!

Novel idea. Postponing until the actual date. Kind of like the "what day is Halloween celebrated" posts I see on social media.
