The Louisiana Department of Health 6,424 cases of Wuhan Virus and 273 deaths. 1,498 patients are hospitalized while 490 patients are on ventilators. The statistics are double what they were a week ago. JJ reported last Thursday "The Louisiana State Department of Health reported 2,355 case of the
Wuhan Virus and 83 deaths today. 676 patients are hospitalized while
239 are on ventilators." The majority of the deaths continue to be patients suffering from diabetes or obesity as underlying conditions.
Jefferson and Orleans parishes continue to make up the majority of infections and deaths. They comprise 58% of the infections and 66% of Covid19 deaths. However, the virus is spreading through the state. The two parishes reported 2/3 of the infections a week ago. More data can be found at the Louisiana Department of Health website.
Simply put, this was the deadliest day for Louisiana under the virus's reign of terror. The Times-Picayune reported:
Louisiana experienced its deadliest day yet from the new coronavirus, confirming 54 new deaths Tuesday as officials ramped up efforts to alleviate a looming run on hospitals.
The state is doubling the number of beds at a temporary hospital under construction at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans and continuing to beat the drum for more life-saving equipment. Gov. John Bel Edwards said the state was adding 1,000 more beds to the convention center in response to worsening projections that the New Orleans area would run out of hospital beds soon – now as early as next Tuesday. This is one cynical way to abate the South of morbid obesity. Lay off the fried chicken, fatties, and you will live longer!
Give a day or so and half the ventilators will be freed up.
Maybe you should move on to another place, and stop acting like there's something exceptionally wrong with NOLA and Louisiana: https://mississippitoday.org/2020/04/01/mississippi-has-nations-highest-covid-19-hospitalization-rate/
The media is quick to tell us the dead are piling up in morgues at New Orleans and New York.
But not one reporter has addressed where the dead will be entombed. The solution is mass burials..most likely at State parks.
The news from Hattiesburg that the dying will be moved there to a 200 patient facility leads me to believe that the New Orleans dead will be laid to rest in trenche at the DeSoto National Forest.
The mission of the 200 bed hospital facility at Shelby is to house survivors of the virus now on the mend.
Previous information of Shelby being a dumping ground for NO virus victims was an ugly rumor.
