Sore looser...
Ain’t that some CRAP!

Anonymous said...

He can't hold his nose long enough to endorse Tater Tot.

Anonymous said...

Good. Good on steroids. After Reeves lies his ass of about him, and will make an unbelievably shitty governor, GOOD. Had he endorsed him, he would have backtracked on his entire campaign.

Anonymous said...

Is this official from Waller? If not, who said so?

Anonymous said...

Not really surprising.

If "official" or not, if Waller was a true conservative he would have endorsed the victor of his primary runoff race within 48 hours.

Until then, I hope Waller shows in one Hood's commercials about shopping at a Chickasaw County Piggly Wiggly.

Anonymous said...

Why should he? We are far from the collegial Newt Gingrich, Tip O’Neill-type days of politics. Waller ran against Tater on principle. It shouldn’t be expected of him to endorse someone with a drastically different platform and vision for Mississippi.

Anonymous said...

If Hood can get just part of the Waller voters he will win.

Anonymous said...

I'm proud of Waller for not endorsing Reeves. With his sleazy commercials and mailings, Reeves went too far in attacking Waller and ended up alienating many of the Waller voters. I voted for Waller and will definitely vote for Hood.

Anonymous said...

Forgot to add:

Perhaps Waller can help Hood reload some buckshot and "fix" a bushhog.

Anonymous said...

Waller is a man of lofty principles. Beating Jim Hood is the most important thing. I'm a Republican. I'm a conservative. Very principled as long as it suits him.

Anonymous said...

Sounds like the ole boy describing himself to the voters as a "conservative Republican" was a big fat lie. I have 0 respect for this guy.

Anonymous said...

Jackson got the convention center and the coast got the stadium. Developers, lobbyists and attorneys got the money. Taxpayers get the bill.

Anonymous said...

Proof he's not a conservative. Never been any proof he is, and this cinches it.

Have you ever noticed that it's usually Republicans who eat their own. Virtually never would you find a Democrat who will get "out of step" and do something like this. It's almost as if Democrats play to WIN!

Anonymous said...

Why would he/or should he give his endorsement to that doofus Tate Reeves.

Reeves is the typical, life-long politician that will suck our State dry and live off our government's teat for the rest of his and his entire family's lives.

Anon-E-Mouse said...

That’s what he gets for calling him a big city liberal

Anonymous said...

Principle over politics. Very rare to see in today’s climate. Good for the General. Like him or not, he won’t sell out his beliefs....and that’s called integrity.

Anonymous said...

This is my shocked face (0_0)

Anonymous said...

Thank goodness!

Let the best man win. Giddy up. Cost Tate a lot of his treasure chest to just get through the primaries. Will be happy even if he wins as long as his campaign chest is in the red for him to do so. The stripping of his "retirement" fund couldn't have happened to a better person.

Anonymous said...

You can't expect a Democrat to endorse a conservative. He aligns much better with Hood.

Anonymous said...

Why is Waller obligated to endorse Reeves just because he is Republican? If Waller feels that Reeves is not a good choice, isn’t the lack of an endorsement the least he could do? That’s the problem with this State - too many people who are too concerned about being conservative to try to fix the very real problems this State faces

Anonymous said...

Proves a whole lot of things that were assumed during the primary - mainly that he has much more association with the Democrats in this state than the Republican he claimed to be.

Also shows what a thin skin he has - too thin to be involved in elective politics.

We all knew all along that he was talked into the race by Josh and his team because they couldn't stand losing their gravy train that they have had for the past decade, and would do so if Tate were elected Gov. Guess they must now have made a deal with the devil and sold what little soul they still had to Hood by 'advising' their boy to not endorse his opponent.

Hell, if Taggart could endorse a Dem in sheep's clothing after losing to Fitch, Waller has no basis except his bruised ego to take this wimpy ass step.

Let him live on in his own ego-stretched thin skin. Sorry he got so butthurt and followed such poor campaign advice.

Anonymous said...

If true, I respect Waller more for not doing what the establishment THINKS he must. If he thought Tate was worthy, he wouldn’t have run. The act of forcing a defeated candidate’s hand is ridiculous. If republicans were worried about Hood, they should have ditched the tot. I’m a registered republican and WILL NOT vote for Tate.

Anonymous said...

Once a Democrat always a Democrat-

Anonymous said...

The party isn’t helping Mississippi. Why back the party? Why back the guy that lied about you and attacked your character? If Tate had leadership skills and a vision for the state, maybe. In my opinion, Waller is thinking of the state by not making this endorsement. Good for him. Good for us!

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

I have even more respect for former Chief Justice/General Waller. Unlike the dullard/dingleberry on the Water For Money network, I think this shows a sense of character, not a bent towards “democrat”. Tater Sack acts like a bag of ***holes.
reCAPTCHA is a wonderful thing.

Anonymous said...

Regardless of what you democrats posing as Republicans post about Waller. We know that Waller is a RINO and will not support his party’s nominated candidate. Waller is finished in politics. He will probably try another run as a Democrat in 2024.

Anonymous said...

Had he won the run off ,would he endorse Hood then ?

Anonymous said...

Waller is a statesman, Reeves is just another political prostitute.

Anonymous said...

@7:48: I’m 7:01 and I am NOT a democrat posing as a republican. I will not vote for Tate. If Hood does win, I’ll survive just like I did with Obama. The sky won’t fall and the world won’t stop turning (...unless Jesus returns).

Anonymous said...

Ha! Love it. And...might be pointed out that Waller is right in step with Tate’s home county.

Anonymous said...

@6:07

Integrity ??? The guy lied to the public that he was a conservative Republican and he clearly is not and never was. AND as far as him being a general...there is a large element of politics involved in getting promotions at that level...reckon didi's connections had anything to do with that ?

Anonymous said...

7:48 keep up. He didn't and certainly doesn't give a shit about politics. You are around 30 years old, aren't you? What he did(or didn't do in this case) defines integrity.

Anonymous said...

If Tate attacked me as he did Waller I wouldn’t endorse him either. Matter of fact I would campaign against him. I would not want to be part of a party that thinks these attacks are just part of the process.

Anonymous said...

8:25. The "new" RINO Nazi's that have taken over the moderate party of Reagan, are small minded, close minded, dressed up rednecks of the highest order. KUDOS Bill Waller. Phuck these bigots!

Anonymous said...

Waller has totally discredited himself. What a sad end to his public service career.

Anonymous said...

So wait. First Tate lies about Waller. Calls him a liberal. Says he’s no good for Mississippi. Wants to raise your gas tax $500 dollars. ( by the way you would have to drive a car that get 15 miles to the gallon 75000 miles per year to pay $500 dollars a year. And just in general beats the hell out of him and slings mud and THEN WANTS HIS ENDORSEMENT. come on ... let’s be real. Tate isolated Himself from all the Waller and Foster supported. Sometimes karma sucks.

Anonymous said...

I've voted Republican for the past 20 or so years and I don't recall taking any loyalty oath or being required to. I'll bet Waller didn't take one either. When it becomes required, that's when I move to Canada.

Anonymous said...

Waller and Hood are one in the same. Put Waller in the old folks home. This is not news.

Anonymous said...

The teachers's unions have it in for Tate and it shows on these blogs and social media. Your $4,000 raise was a mirage and quit blaming Tate. It was never real.

Anonymous said...

Now that Tate is the nominee what am I supposed to do? Justice Waller will always have my respect and admiration. As another poster pointed out, Justice Waller is a statesman not just a run of the mill politician. I just don't know for whom I am going to vote. Here's how I see it:

Hood -- lifelong politician, will be pressured by Pelosi and AOC and the Squad to move further to the left.

Reeves -- lifelong politician. Let me just put it this way: "it's more important to have character than to be one." (I don't know who said that originally).

Stay home -- if one does not vote then one has no right to complain.

The last Democrat I voted for was Kane Ditto. That was long before I moved to Madison.

What to do?

Anonymous said...

All of you low intelligence posters need to get a life and read the Mississippi Constitution and statutes. Bill Waller, JR has never run as a Democrat. Judges (except JP's) run as non-partisans.

Bill's father ran as a Democrat because in 1971 you could not get elected Gov if you didn't run as a Democrat. I knew the Gov well. Worked many cases with him. He was a conservative Mississippian.

Anonymous said...

I don’t believe Jeb or John Kasich ever endorsed Trump. And they were hailed as standing up for their beliefs, according to the Washington elites. Most Waller voters will never vote or support potato head. Hence the hashtag #nevertate

PS: if we were gonna vote for mr. potato head, we would already have done so on TWO different chances and declined! And believe me, third time won’t be the charm for mr. potato head.

Birds of a socialist feather; Jim Hood, Hilliary Clinton, Barack Obama..... NOW Bill Waller!?
I know. Some of u r saying that is just a label. Folks, that’s the American political system as we know it today. And yes, as long as we have a democratic process one will often find oneself voting for the lesser of the evils. Grow up folks. That’s political life in America.

If you support unconstitutional red flag gun confiscation programs that lack due process, you should support Hood-wink.

If elected, Hood-wink would sign an executive order implementing red-flag confiscation.

You read it here first.

Tate Reeves and his supporters seems to have only one drum to beat on, which is that none of his opponents are "real conservatives." This argument is defined as follows:

"No True Scotsman: Making an Appeal to Purity as a way to dismiss relevant criticisms or flaws of an argument.

"This fallacy is often employed as a measure of last resort when a point has been lost. Seeing that a criticism is valid, yet not wanting to admit it, new criteria are invoked to dissociate oneself or one’s argument."

Anonymous said...

The little Tater Tots sure are worried. They know this is the best case scenario for Hood.

Anonymous said...

Like it or not. Wake up to reality. There is a political fence. One HAS TO BE on one side or the other, not both, not neither. Do u want to move toward socialism, get on that side of the fence? Do u want less intrusive government, lower taxes, (how bout abortion), etc. get on that side of the fence? Mr. Waller has chosen the wrong side of the fence for me!

Anonymous said...

I’ve got news for some of y’all. That was Jesus that walked on the water, not Bill Waller. If Bill Waller’s father had not been governor, Jr would not have been a judge nor general. Now just because y’all prayed for Waller’s election, u think God should do what u say. His ways r not our ways. Rather than being mad at God for not doing as u said, do as God says & pray for Tate Reeves.

bill said...

Simple solution. In order to qualify to run in the Republican primary you must sign an agreement to publicly endorse the winner. Don't want to sign? Run as an Independent.

Anonymous said...

The hell with a party affiliation, it’s about who the voter thinks will look out for their interests. I can do without both Hood and Reeves! I worked hard all my adult life, made a good living and have a good retirement and don’t need handouts, medicade or Medicare.
I’ll survive who ever wins like I have the past 65 years. I don’t get caught up in the rehortic because, “ non of them gonna do jack shit”!
All they are gonna do is look out for their buddies and pay back the ones that gave big.

The ones like me, posting ain’t gonna get NOTHING, but high blood pressure!

Anonymous said...

Waller has votes in democratic primaries for years... Surely no one finds this surprising...

Anonymous said...

Those republicans who are losing their shit because someone they didn’t vote for won’t support their guy are the same ones killing this country. You fools are party first, country (or in this case, state) second. Waller has integrity and will stand up to the bs republican machine. Good for him.

We’ve seen a lot of negative and tough attack ad style campaigns in MS. Barbour vs Musgrove 2003, Wicker vs Musgrove 2008, Thad vs McDaniel 2014, CHS vs Espy 2018.....and anyone who can be honest for 1 second has to realize those were all 1000 times more negative than the passive ads run by Tate against Waller or Waller against Tate. If Waller is offended by Tate Reeves calling him a nice man but not conservative on taxes, healthcare, etc then he’s the most thin skinned candidate we’ve had in a generation.

If anything, Waller’s ad with an obnoxious kid swinging blindly at a piñata was more personal than what Tate ran against Waller.

Again, we’ve seen nasty and vicious campaigns in MS in the last twenty years and Tate v Waller isn’t in the top 20 of these races.

What a joke.....

Anonymous said...

9:13 you need to just google Judge Waller Jr. He ran as a Democrat in the 80s and it was not for a judgeship.

Anonymous said...

I have not read all 50 comments, but the fact that Waller will not endorse Tate just proves everything conservatives have been saying about Waller for months.

At least Tate won't have to shoot new commercials. The can just dub in Hood in place of Waller's name in the old ones.

Anonymous said...

Waller probably would have endorsed Reeves despite their policy differences, if Reeves had run a more honest campaign. Tate’s MO is to bully and destroy those who disagree with him and then expect them to get in line behind him.

Anonymous said...

Word on the street is one of Tate’s staff (maybe former staff now?) is passing info to Hood’s campaign through friends.

Anonymous said...

11:24- Ronald Reagan was also affiliated as a Democrat at one time. What about all the MS politicians that switched from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party and are still in office? Does that make them Democrats still? What is your point other than trying to discredit a man who has served his state and country honorably? The bottom line is both candidates for governor today are well known to most informed voters and therefore the comments on this blog will sway very few if any votes. There is no reason to try and tear down a very good man in Judge Waller. The more you guys criticize him, the less you help the cause (Tate) you are trying to benefit

Anonymous said...

11:24 Don't have to google anything. ALL politicians holding office before the 1980's in Mississippi were DEMOCRATS. It's meaningless bullshit. If Waller were a Republican he would have been branded a Yankee liberal and told to leave town. Party loyalty is for bird-brains and sheep. Loyalty to your principles mark the man.

Anonymous said...

10:26 spoken like an enemy of Mississippi. You’d probably vote for Satan as long as he was running against a democrat. Shame on you for dragging down this state and putting worthless party affiliation above decency and accountability.

Anonymous said...

I agree with 6:46 p.m.

Anonymous said...

Let’s look at the big picture. Hood’s elected, nothing is going to happen, because none of his programs will get through the Republican super majority in the house and senate. Gridlock. Reeves elected, the people he stepped on, on the way up the ladder, will hamper his every move. Gridlock. Look at MS as a microcosm of your national government.

As much as I admire what Trump has done for the economy, MS has not shared in the wealth because while the national economy has grown 20+%, MS has grown at 2%. That shows real leadership on the state level.

And, last but not least, for you “no new taxes crowd”. Donald J. Trump has implemented the largest tax increase in the history of the U S without it ever being pasted by Congress. It’s called tariffs folks. And that’s the bottom line.

Anonymous said...

Waller is a prime example of the career politician who has slid into everything because of his Daddy’s accomplishments and name. If you believe in “white privilege” Waller could be the Poster Boy. In the current political climate people are distrusting of politicians without the mirage of questions Waller as a Republican raised. Waller is a nice man but was seen by most as Democrat thrown in this race simply to make Tate spend money and help Hood . Wether it was dirty politics or a strategic move must be decided and interpreted by each voter and they did. Waller should respect the decision of the people that voted in the primary and runoff of the party who’s nomination he sought and do what is required to move them forward United. He portrays the characteristics of a non committed team member and a sore loser.

Anonymous said...

Absolutely incredible to read how many of you want to bash Waller for not endorsing Tate. Why should he? Tate's entire campaign to beat him was literally burn cash with very thinly sourced attack ads painting him as a liberal. And y'all want him to turn around and kiss the ring of Tate like y'all are all so eager to do?

Nah. Bill's smart enough to see Tate has zero plan for this state, so why back a bad candidate when you simply don't have to?

The liberal label is a tired trope for those who are lazy and unwilling to look past the end of their own noses.

Anonymous said...

Mr. Waller's skin is so thin that he takes umbrage at being referred to as a liberal? You've got to be kidding.

Not sure what is funnier. Waller being upset or all the trolls here at Jackson Jambalaya making it sound like being called liberal is some sort of over-the-line never-seen-before outside the bounds of acceptable political behavior attack!

ROFLMAO Get a grip losers.

Anonymous said...

I agree with 7:12, I am a life long Conservative have never voted anything but Republican and I’m hoping Tate can win me over somehow.
But the insults and demands to tow the party line from his Tot-tastics here are not exactly encouraging me to hold my nose and vote Tater at all.

Anonymous said...

I am laughing my ass off.

You Mississippi nimwits are going to elect Tate Reeves as the Governor of your state.

Oh man.

Onward blindly! Y'all just cannot get out of the shallow partisan waters.

"Mississippi: Forever 50th!" Should be your new state motto.

Anonymous said...

Unlike Chris McDaniel, he has the stones to stick to his guns and not be a sellout on his beliefs. He is sticking to his guns, and not trying to remain relevant.

If your vote is based in whole, or part, on what you read here then please seriously consider staying home because stupid ass voters is not what we need to advance Mississippi forward.

The lack of a Waller endorsement only shows that His Honor is not a team player nor is he a true Republican. Sort of reminds me of the Bushes and Trump. They seem to be too good to support what is best for Mississippi and the USA. Always just pick up their toys and go home. In this case its the home of his father.

There is just about as much hate on this site toward Tate Reeves as there is toward Trump on the national level. Rave on y'all; you are only hurting the State you say you love. Beginning to see you haters as socialists. Lambs to the slaughter of our Country's hard won and hard held beliefs in freedom.

What's a "true Republican"? Is it Reagan who was a Democrat? Rockefeller?
Bush? Tate Reeves? Ross Barnett? Get your head out of your ass and realize it's just a temporary convenience for politicians not a lifetime commitment. Endorsing Tate Reeves who might be a huge failure is not the same as declaring loyalty to a set of principles which are not tied to some so-called political party. Too much obedience to a "party" is far more dangerous than independent thought. Just ask the Germans.

Anonymous said...

Good for Waller. I voted for Waller and like him, I refuse to support Tate Reeves, who I think will be a disaster for this state. People who support Tater are the kind who would consider the Brownback tax cut experiment in Kansas as a raging success.

Anonymous said...

Reading some of these comments reminds me why we are so entrenched in our politics and are always ranked #50.

Anonymous said...

The fact that Waller will not endorse Tate Reeves
is not good. Swaller your pride, brush off defeat
and support the only conservative candidate in the race.
If he can't do that then to me he is showing his true colors.
This is why myself and many others did not support him.
The choice is very clear. We want a Govenor that will work
with and support our State and President. It is plain to
see Waller would not work well in this situation.
Vote for Tate Reeves or we will just be another state
that will start the transition to more liberalism.

Anonymous said...

You forgot Barry Goldwater. He and President Reagan were, perhaps, the last "true Republicans."

Anonymous said...

I've read all of the comments above, and blah, blah, blah.

It all gets down to one thing, i.e., here's the bottom line:

ONE of the remaining candidates is going to become our next Governor. Irrespective of whether your guy or the other guy prevailed in the primary, the fact remains that only one of them won. And THAT'S the only guy who is going to go up against Hood (a Democrat, in case you didn't know)

Now, there are some of you "never Tate" idiots who will steadfastly claim that "I'd rather vote for a Democrat than Tate." Blah, blah, blah. That's sort of like saying, "I'm so angry with you, I'm going to burn my house down." At the end of the day, there's either going to be a liberal Democrat or a conservative Republican in the Governor's mansion next year, so YEAH, there IS a BIG reason to vote for Tate. It's my opinion that, unfortunately, Bill Waller showed the man behind the curtain by not being bigger-than-himself and not endorsing Reeves. That's his business, but I also believe he, like Chris McDaniel before him, sealed his future political fate by making that choice.

All that being said, this is actually a VERY simple issue, in that we now have but one choice: do you want a person who has a history of clearly liberal associations and leanings or do you want someone who has a history of the opposite? Both have records that are easily searchable, so go take a look. For whatever reason, people - at least in central MS - don't particularly like Tate as a person. Some even go so far to imply that they'd allow the State to be adversely affected by Hood, just to prevent Tate from getting what he wants (financially and from a career perspective. What?) Again, not sure why, but that's just the case. However, you can't make the case that he'd be a worse executive than Hood. His record simply won't allow you to draw that conclusion.

Even if it gets to the point for many where you have to pick the lesser of the evils, Tate still prevails. Every time. (NOTE: YES, a liberal Democrat in the Governor's office WOULD be worse than Tate. That simple enough to understand?)

Anonymous said...

11:07 since you are calling your presumed audience "idiots" in the second paragraph, I'm not sure they will make it to the end of your blathering nonsense.

This is a free country last I checked, and neither the Republican Party nor the Democratic Party own's anyone. This is why our current electoral system is so fucked up. Party loyalists on both sides presume that you must kiss the ring and agree with 100% of the party's position (whatever that means) to be a candidate.

Eat watching or listing to Tate whine for 4 (8) more years .

Why should Waller, who ran as a Republican, now put his support behind Reeves? Here’s why. Hood is a LIBERAL DEMOCRAT through and through and toes the party line 100% of the way Every decision he makes, every bill he signs as governor will be titled in favor of the DEMOCRAT agenda. Be it “tax the rich” or “corporate America”; be it gun rights; be it abortion rights; be it whatever....he will quietly veto any legislation with a conservative tilt and take his photo-ops while signing the most decisive LIBERAL piece a garbage legislation to cross his desk. Count on it. This is why every person CLAIMING to be conservative and every person CLAIMING to be moderate had better get over the silly-childish, nit-picking personality challenging and TOTALLY IRRELEVANT reasons for opposing Tate Reeves. Stupid stuff like claiming he eats every meal at a buffet because he can’t make simple decisions like what he wants for dinner!!! You must understand and remember that a person who takes the time to actually UNDERSTAND an issue before firmly committing to his position on that issue will PROBABLY make a better decision on that issue than the one who quickly commits based on what someone else TELLS him to believe..or, even worse... on how he should “feel” regarding the subject.

For all his reported (and probably made-up faults)...at least Reeves IS a conservative....and that’s ALL that matters at this point.

The only good thing about most of the commentary here is that it's from Mississippians, and we are generally out of step with the rest of the country, if not the world. Some of us would define the Republican party so narrowly that only the skinheads and KKK would feel comfortable giving it blind support. They would also define ALL Democrats as communists and anarchists engaged in constant treason. Their world is scary. It's all or nothing, no reasonable alternatives, just one-way. Anyone within the party not marching in lock-step is the enemy. They even scare members of their own party. But if only we could think better, we could do better. I guess I must be a liberal commie. I thought I was a Republican.

In today's polarized, hyper-partisan and tribalistic political environment, how valuable is an intra-party endorsement anyway? I guarantee you that many of the Waller supporters will come home in November to vote for Reeves, regardless of an endorsement from him, because after listening to 2 months of "Hood is an evil, dangerous, socialist liberal in sync with Obama, HRC, Pelosi, and AOC" attack ads they will happily vote for this entitled little toad because of the 'R' after his name.

Anonymous said...

I voted for Gov. Waller and would do it again and again.

Reeve's campaign was very dirty, misleading and mean spirited. Even at the end when he seemed to have a tiny bit of remorse, he ran two different ads. One with "Saint Reeves" saying I will tell you Mr. Waller is a fine man; we just disagree", and the other showing his Nesoba County Fair ad where he was putting fake words in Mr. Waller's mouth and putting red slashes on his face. Did he not think we knew that both were his ads? Such a fake and such a hypocrite --how Mr. Reeves could even think to run them both at the same time?

I don't usually write here , but I ALWAYS vote REPUBLICAN. If this is how Mr. Reeves runs his dirty campaigns, I will be voting for Jim Hood and telling all my Republican friends. I don't think I could put up with Mr. Reeves lack of character for the next 4 years.

Just vote for Jim Hood -- a silent protest against Reeve's dirty politics.

Here's my biggest issue with deciding on my vote:

I don't know that Tate has articulated what he would DO was governor. He should have some sort of agenda. I do get that he is "against raising anyone's taxes." But, beyond that, what? What will he DO?

He's shown in 8 years that he has no inclination to raise teacher pay to be competitive with other states (and state trained teachers leave the state). He's shown in 8 years that his agenda for healthcare is "No Obamacare". But, what is the plan for healthcare in the state.
He's shown in 8 years that he is happy to defer state maintenance on roads and bridges (or to even try to give the next governor (presumed to be him) latitude to decide where limited resources are spent) so that someone down the road will have to deal with it.
He's shown no interest in reducing personal income taxes - except as a throw in to get the corporate tax reduced. (Someone please let me know as an employee that gets a W-2 where my taxes have been decreased.)
He showed no interest in a heart beat bill until an election year.
He showed no interest in immigration issues as corporate donors like the cheap labor.
The biggest issue of all is population decline or stagnation and the fact that the economy has barely budged in his time in office while surrounding states are up about 20%. What's he going to do to get the economy moving?

What does Tate plan to DO besides "be conservative", whatever that means?

Hood is getting this Waller vote. Tate is just too much. First time voting for a Democrat in my nearly 50 years (30 years of voting)... Admittedly, I'll be holding my nose, but not as hard as I would be to vote for Tate.

12:35, you have your Yergers confused. Wirt Jr., the founder of the Republican Party in Mississippi and the recognized dean of all the old guys, supported Tate and is probably going to do it again. Wirt III is his son, who supported Waller but who the others on the letter believed they could use to fool people into believing that he was the real Wirt Yerger. Apparently it worked with you, but Wirt III is the son of the icon.

12:35. You are correct it fooled me, however the $30,000 contribution from a Yeager indicated pretty strong support. We don’t run in the same social circles but I do know the father pretty welll and don’t believe he would give a lot of support to a candidate with with Tate’s character. I’m done

I guess I don't get some of ya'll. WHY would Waller stick his neck out for Tater face when his own county didn't carry him. It really ain't that hard people to understand WHY he wouldn't back that guy! Good for Waller. He's staying the hell out of it, 'cause neither side ain't really worth a damn anyway!

The Little Emperor is not pleased by these developments.

50+ years voting straight R but probably won't be able to do it for Tate. Never thought much of protests.. until this dilemma came to be.

I regret Waller didn't go ahead.

Great job Waller. 44% of the vote on 1/5 of Tate's budget. Tate clearly is not the ideal candidate.

I see a lot of posters here (assuming they are truthful) who say (some version of) 'I can't stomach Tate so I'll vote for Hood'. If that's the case, then I assume you also said, 'I can't stomach Trump so I'll vote for Hillary'. I see that as a direct parallel.

The noise coming from you house at night is so bothersome that I'm going to pour gasoline on all the shrubs and trees on the property line.

And, no, that's NOT a logical fallacy.

Who we put in the governor's role is much too important to quibble over who we dislike the least.

8:12 You should seek counseling.

Voting along party lines, even if the candidate is absolute crap, is no different that any of you calling into question why the minorities continue to vote for the DEMS even though they've done nothing but perpetuate slavery into a modern form.

Good for Waller, he seems to have integrity. My family, who's closely tied to Bryant, know for certain that the GOP can't stand Tate.

Hood has done far more right than wrong. Tate is status quo, and if elected, y'all deserve every bit of it. Keep plugging away at the bottom. I am so glad I left the state. Between the ignorant Democrats and equally ignorant Republicans, y'all will never get out of your own way. Both just keep pointing fingers while running in place....

@September 5, 2019 at 8:12 PM no they had a 3rd choice no matter how kooky he was, to send a message by voting Johnson/Weld. I get it, Libertarians have some great policies but kooky candidates, hard pill to swallow.

Both parties can just eat themselves because neither represent anyone with integrity. Every election, votes have the mentality "crap sandwich or crap sandwich with cheese."

I just wish people would start using logic over emotion.

The “Establishment” has given us another Barbour candidate who has a lot of negatives. The Democratics will hold all their voters and if just a small fraction of Waller/Foster voters vote for Hood or stay home (like me), Hood will be the next Gov.. Waller was a candidate most all the Republicans could have gotten behind and would have been very electable.

All you Tater Tots calling Waller a sore loser remember this. You ain’t won yet and everyday it seems a little less likely you will. Enjoy your “win” while you can.

I supported Waller voted twice for Waller Think the world of him. But unfortunately this stance makes the despicable commercials where he was accused of being a democrat running as republican look spot on. This is disappointing Bill you have always taken the high road on issues. Dont disappoint us now support The Republican nominee.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
