Apparently more than a few bedwetters are upset that the former Starbucks CEO might, gasp, run for President. Roll out the tumbrils. The Wall Street Journal reported:
The man who turned Starbucks from a four-store chain into a global business with more than 28,000 coffee shops has angered many Democrats by saying he might run for president as an independent. It is a prospect that high-profile Democrats including Michael Bloomberg said will only split the vote and help President Trump win re-election in 2020. Some Democrats are calling on Starbucks’s large left-leaning customer base to boycott the chain.
Mr. Schultz doesn’t appear to be backing down. “I must be doing something right to garner this much attention and this much interest,” the former Starbucks CEO told “CBS This Morning” on Tuesday.
This isn’t the first time Mr. Schultz’s politics have resulted in a backlash for the company, although their impact on customer traffic is less clear....
Mr. Schultz risks alienating the coffee chain’s core customers. A 2017 survey by Simmons Consumer Research found that self-described liberals were 43% more likely than the average person to have visited a Starbucks in the past month, while conservatives were 16% less likely to have done so. A sizable portion of Starbucks stores are located in or near major cities that tend to have large concentrations of liberal voters.
Robert Reich, a labor secretary under President Bill Clinton, on Tuesday called for a Starbucks boycott if Mr. Schultz runs.
If billionaire Schultz decides to run as a self-financed independent because (1) Democrats want higher taxes on the rich and Medicare for all, but he doesn't, (2) he doesn't care if his spoiler campaign gets Trump reelected, (3) his ego needs it, then (4) we boycott Starbucks.
On Monday, Democratic operative Nate Lerner bought the web domain boycott-starbucks.com in hopes of pressuring the company to push Mr. Schultz out of the race. By midday Tuesday, only about 250 people had signed up for an email list on Starbucks boycott activities, Mr. Lerner said, but he said he has plans a broader media rollout if Mr. Schultz enters the race as an independent.
“This is the only tool we have to stop him,” Mr. Lerner said. “I’m sure he’s very close with the board members and biggest shareholders. If this becomes a P.R. nightmare, they’re the ones who can put pressure on him.”
A Starbucks spokesman said the company has successfully navigated past efforts from special interest groups and boycott campaigns and that it plans to stick to its values.
Mr. Schultz didn’t respond to requests for comment on Tuesday. During his appearance on CBS on Tuesday, he sought to paint himself as a centrist. “If Republicans have a choice between a far left, liberal, progressive candidate on the Democratic side, or President Trump, President Trump is gonna get re-elected. If I can get in the race, and I only need 15% to be on the debate stage, I will provide the Republicans with a choice that they do not have.”
His political aide, Bill Burton, said Mr. Schultz is “prepared to defend what was a really incredible time as CEO.” Rest of article.

Shocked that a Trumptard would take this position. Absolutely shocked.
Eating their own is what leftists do. It's actually got a double meaning since they also often starve.
This is why young people really need to learn history. I'm always comparing the crazy Democrat socialist nonsense to maoist red guards and leninist bolsheviks. See, when the revolutionaries ran out of bourgeois to kill, they always began turning on each other.
This is due to the fact that socialism and communism will always ultimately fail and lead to starvation. Somebody has to be blamed and it can't be party leaders. Therefore the revolution can never end, it must invent new adversaries to focus the revolutionary plans of action and resolve.
Whether it be socialism, communism, marxism, or even feminism they will eventually figuratively and possibly literally have to eat their own as a matter of survival.
"If billionaire Schultz decides to run as a self-financed independent because........."
Uh, the Republicans had 17 candidates in their primaries two years ago, and the winning candidate was the only who could be described as "a self-financed independent".
Maybe Schultz learned something from that.
Not that I care much for Al Gore, but I'm still pissed at Ralph Nader. And then there was that champion of the people, Ross Perot. Does the GOP not remember him?
Big ego plus big money equals big trouble. Exhibit A is the hot mess in the Oval Office.
I’m more interested to see who from the moderate right is going to take a crack at it. I am 100% not voting for Trump so much so I’d be willing to vote for a Bernie Sanders type if that’s the only other option I get. I don’t believe that the GOP is going to just hand this election over, so I feel like there is some hope we will get a real candidate.
4:33 - I get damned tired of saying this,but....consider the alternative. Next?
Run, Howard, run!
It's pretty hilarious that the extreme right still uses the term "bedwetter" in light of the current president's alleged affection for Russian hooker golden showers.
He will fade away by the end of the week and put his support and money behind the next president. Whoever the Democrats select will blow Trump out the water. Then the US Attroney for the Southern District of New York is going to dismantle the Trump Empire.
Starbucks just can't win.
Riots in the streets? Bust out some windows at Starbucks.
Got time to waste? Hang around Starbucks like a vagrant and cause Starbucks to look bad.
Hate the current administration and then hate the Starbucks guy for trying to change the administration.
@6:07 - give it up, that made up bs died a long time ago.
6:07 is nominated for the most deceitful person posting here.
So "self described liberals" want confiscatory taxes on those who work hard in order to buy over-priced coffee?
@6:57, not sure what you mean. Trump said it couldn't be true because he never stayed overnight in Moscow at the time it happened. That denial was proven to be a lie by records of him staying overnight at the time of the alleged shower. Seems more likely to be true than not at this point especially now that his many hoooker payoffs have come to light.
@6:21
You clearly haven't been to many places in this country that the democrats must win in order to take the white house... the Midwest is gone for democrats and Trump has a massive increase in Hispanic support. Even more than Bush did and GW did exceptionally well with that demographic. Also look at new NAACP poll. Trump is hitting 31% black support. You should look at it in real terms. Not some msnbc poll. Thought you would have learned that already.
As usual leftists are all heathen satanists
Donald Trump is just running interference for Jared who is serving God through Chabad-Lubavitch. The true legacy of Donald Trump is in the Holy Land. What is important is the destruction of Al-Aqsa Mosque andthe rebuilding of God's Holy Temple.
Al-Aqsa is an offense to God Almighty and it should be the focus of the nation's hatred. Moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem secured America's place at the side off the Messiah at his return and guarantees we are on the correct side of the Battle of Armageddon.
I find it odd that Bette Midler called Schultz a white privilege male. This guy grew up in public housing in NYC. The idea that people on the left are critical of success is proof they're not in tune with most of American voters. Also, the dems are already lining up challengers to primary Alex from the bronx Cortez. They know they can't win national elections with her in the party.
What a bunch of BS, Trump has 31% of the black vote. I guess you believe Trump knows more about taking a dump than anyone else too.
I’m all for anything that Loosens the 2-party grip on the nations balls. My favorite part of the trump presidency is watching the reactions of both parties to someone who doesn’t follow any of their rules. And I don’t like trump. I probably wouldn’t like this guy either but he’s probably better than anybody the regular goons would get on the ticket.
The Democratic party is now made up of the leftovers of the country. As individuals most of them simply can't keep up in today's society but as a group they've worked very hard to bring everyone else down to their level.
He's not strong enough to survive. Money wont buy it for him. If so, Steve Forbes would have won. The Donald was too willing to get in a verbal fight to with his opponents in the race and as we all know he's a serious counter puncher. HS seems too mild and meek. Does anyone think the Donald would have been quiet like HS was when protesters started shouting at him? I think not...and there's the difference.
Didn't he just release a book? And isn't he currently in the middle of a book tour? Publicity stunt?
@9:14 proof that Trump has received a “massive increase” in Hispanic support? Of course, it is hard to go down from zero.
For some reason the popular belief is that because this guy sells coffee he's going to take Democrat votes. He isn't promoting any idea that is attractive to Democrats. Even the less liberal wing of the party is further to the left than Schultz.
Republicans are the ones that should encouraging him to drop out. He's running as a more centrist Trump. The same self made billionaire, against socialized medicine, outsider profile.
He just knows he can't run as a Republican because Trump will be too strong in the primaries.
10:15am is correct. Schultz also wants to cut entitlements and opposes taxes on the wealthy. He is a somewhat centrist Republican. The "Eating Their Own" title just shows how little Kingfish knows about national politics.
We do not need another amateur in the White House.
@12:41 PM
I agree, that amateur Obama was terrible. What was his great accomplishment prior to being elected President?
12:41 au contraire.
Hope to never have another 'seasoned' politician as POTUS. In fact, would hope to have MANY less seasoned members in congress.
This guy can run if he wants, Trump will be rejected either way.
He will carry a few southern states but he will lose the rest.
@2:13, he was a US Senator, as were many past presidents.
@3:32
He will carry the mid west. He will carry the former blue wall that he won last time. He has way to much minority support. The support with Hispanics alone will carry over as well. Your very misinformed and it's obvious. You certainly don't u derstands work I g class people.
Even the democrats are freaking out over working class voters fleeing the party. There also concerned with the number of blacks that support Trump. Remember they only make up 12.3% of US population. He only needs 11% of that to win. Bottom line is the democrats are a bicoastal elite party that has forgotten the working class. Democrats won the 20 most wealthy zipcodes in the country and are party of the elites.
9:14pm did you see what happened to Republicans in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan...these folks have figured out that Trump was a grave mistake. Folks in Iowa and Ohio are beginning to understand too. The Republicans only hope is to primary Trump and most are too afraid to try.
Trump supporters make up alot of working class people that only vote in presidential elections. Many haven't voted since bill club to . 48% of Trump voters voted for Obama at least once. He draws from many different faucets of the population. Needs to do better with households making over 250k though. Look up the trumpocrats
@6:07,
Trump voters are generally voters that only vote in certain elections. They in fact voted for bill Clinton. Ronald Reagan and Trump. Most may never vote again after Trump wins in 2020. Call them blue collar call them high school educated if you will. These aren't traditional Republican party voters. Most would never vote for a pretty boy Romney or a Haley or a bush in general. Try to understand the demographics of lower educated working class people. Republicans after Trump in 2020 will not get theses voters to turnout for a different candidate.
The ill informed comments are too numerous to address, but the winner for "Can't Connect Dots" goes to 3:34 pm.
Question: Which word is not like the other words?
communism, socialism, capitalism, feminism
If you don't know the answer here's a hint: 3 are economic systems and one is not.
@11:11
Hey, don't worry about 3:34... probably a graduate of social justice from a private university and makes his decisions based on feeling rather that fact. Likely a millennial and we all know about that great generation of entilmtled brats.
