The city of Jackson issued the following statements.
Due to the recent loss in water pressure from a water main repair, the City of Jackson Water/Sewer Utilities
Division has issued a precautionary boil water advisory until further notice for the following:
• Presidential Hills subdivision
• [5800-6899] Medgar Evers Blvd (Hwy 49N)
• [5800-6899] Medgar Evers Blvd (Hwy 49N)
THIS ADVISORY AFFECTS APPROXIMATELY
1000 CONNECTIONS ON OUR DRINKING WATER SYSTEM.
This is a precautionary advisory.
This
notice does not mean that your water is unsafe, but it does mean that
you must take precaution and boil your water before use. All customers
are advised to boil their drinking
water until adequate pressure is restored to the system. Water should
be brought to a rolling boil for one minute for the following: cooking
or baking, making ice cubes, taking medication, brushing teeth, washing
food, mixing baby formula or food, mixing juices
or drinks feeding pets, washing dishes and all other consumption.
RESIDENTS WILL BE NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY WHEN THE ADVISORY IS LIFTED.
For
more information, customers may call 601-960-2723 during business hours
or 601-960-1778 (or 601-960-1875) after 4:00 p.m. and on weekends. Kingfish note: A boil water notice was also issued for part of McDowell Road. Water service will be suspended from four to six hours at 4:00 PM today due to an emergency water repair.

12:16 - Madison County didn't have people living in it when these water pipes were installed in Jackson. Madison the "city" hadn't been conceived in the womb. And all those developments in the stripped land areas were tree farms for lumber mills on the eastern and southern parts of the state
