JPD issued the following statement.
Jackson Police are investigating a stabbing after a male was transported to a local hospital, by private vehicle, just after 10:30 this morning.
Officers responded to the hospital to learn that a black male was suffering from at least one puncture wound to the back area. The victim was responsive and told officers that the incident resulted from a domestic altercation involving his girlfriend, however, the victim refused to pursue any charges.
Officers later learned that the incident occurred at a residence in the 2000 block of Cooperwell Drive. Officers traveled there to find evidence which suggest that the incident occurred just outside the residence. The girlfriend of the victim was present when officers arrived.

Thought domestic violence was an automatic arrest regardless of victim's wishes?
I love my women so much I ain't filing charges against her. And the state will pay for all my medical expense.
I'm not understanding police logic here. If not pressing charges ends the whole thing, why would the police go and locate the residence and interview the perp?
Besides, black womens been 'cuttin' folk for generations. It's simply a cultural reality. "Ima cutcho ass!" is taught in school before how to spell your name.
Movin' right along....
I understood that felonies are crimes against the state?
