JPD issued the following statement.
Jackson Police are investigating the kidnapping of a 6-year-old child that occurred yesterday evening on Glenmary Street.
Officers responded to a residence located in the
100 block regarding a disturbance. When they arrived, the child’s
father told officers that his daughter, Samiyah Gaines, had just been
taken by black female driving a white sedan, following
a verbal altercation. The father stated that the suspect was a friend
of the child’s mother and had been sent to retrieve the child. The
verbal altercation arose shortly after the suspect arrived. The father
had decided not to allow the child to leave
with her but the suspect refused to return the child before fleeing the
scene.
An AMBER Alert was issued. A short time later, the
child was safely returned to Police by a third party. Officers later
located the suspect, who is identified as 24-year-old, Jazzlynn
Tommynik Simmons, at an undisclosed location and
she was taken into custody.

Did you mean to have the age at 24 and not 42? Rough life.
So this waste of taxpayers resources was over an argument between a couple of Darwin recipients? And the child was with someone designated by the mom?
There is so much that could have been done before using the Amber Alert system to teach a beach to mess with him.
I agree, 3:22. This is NOT what 'Amber Alerts' are for.
Certainly do not know the details of this, but abductions by non-custodial parent are seldom in the best interest of the child; they are usually for vengeance. The non-custodial parent is often addicted. So,to dismiss with "Mom" sent her is not a good thing to do.
I am sure with Kingston Frazier’s murder they are taking all measures necessary in order to recover the child as quick and safely as possible.
6/13 @ 8:52, we don't which parent is the NCP in this case. Typically the mother, but not always, and who's to say the child doesn't actually live with a grandparent or other family member who is not one of her parents.
