The city of Ridgeland issued the following press release.
Ridgeland Municipal Court to Offer Amnesty for Outstanding Arrest Warrants on Contempt of Court
The Ridgeland Police Department and Ridgeland Municipal Court will offer an amnesty program for people with arrest warrants for Contempt of Court. This amnesty period will run from Friday, February 23rd until Friday, March 9th, 2018.
During this limited amnesty period, individuals paying their unpaid fines will have their arrest warrant dismissed by the court and the Contempt of Court charge(s) will be dismissed. Under state law, a person convicted of a Contempt of Court violation faces up to 6 months in jail and/or a fine of $1,000. Individuals who participate in this amnesty program will have any Contempt of Court charge dismissed and will not face any additional fees due to that contempt charge. Alternatives to an immediate full payment may be available to those individuals that participate in the Ridgeland Municipal Court Amnesty Program.
If you have an arrest warrant with the Ridgeland Municipal Court or wish to find out if there is an active warrant for your arrest due to failing to appear in court, you may call Ridgeland Court Services at 601-853-2001. The Ridgeland Municipal Court Services office is open 8am – 5pm, Monday through Friday and is located at 115 West School Street in Ridgeland.

In essence, "We never cared about the offense you committed, we just want your money."
That is the Ridgeland we have grown to know in the last few years..... just give us your money!!
Appears to me to be an indirect courtesy warning that Ridgeland is about to step up arrest efforts. Good for them!
DAMN, when is everyone going to believe it is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS about the money.
Get out from under your rocks. Cities across the country offer these amnesty days. And 10:37 is correct.
Automatic Contempt of Court charge for not paying a fine? Will the SPLC get involved?
I thought Michael Guest's moonlighting bidness was taking care of these fines. My bad....
10:37 AM: YES!!! We need a debtor's prison. Vote for Guest! LAW AND ORDER!!! Now I feel superior!
Fun fact, Guest's business DOES NOT OPERATE IN MADISON AND RANKIN COUNTY..that clear enough? And it's the agency that says you owe the money, they send the information to the business... if that's too complicated you probably do owe money for unpaid fines
