Jackson VA one of the worst

This is the same place that a doctor was shot and killed in clinic at point blank range and another doctor had pool acid thrown on her face in the parking lot, both my VA patients. I have a tshirt that says I survived my tenure at the VA.

Anyone who has ever been to the VA in Jackson already knew it was one of the worst in the country. I have a case against them but don't think there will ever be anything done about it. Patients have to wait over 2 years to see a doctor. 75% of the time the doctor does not even show up for your appointment. After 1 year without seeing a doctor the VA drops a patient from it's rolls and they have to go through admittance all over again.
Doctors give checkups to patients while walking down the hall.
One patient died from blood loss after surgery because no one ever came to check on him. A lawsuit was settled with them for rusty instruments in surgery. They said they would try to clean them next time.
Patients would be much better off going to a veterinary clinic for treatment and would receive a lot better care and be given more respect.

2:27 - Did you mean to say both of the PERPETRATORS were your patients rather than both of the doctors? I don't think the doctors were VA patients. Or did you also make a typographical mistake in claiming to be a doctor, yourself.

Is the Donald going to take credit for this too or is this Obama’s still? All pre vious prior administrations have failed our vets. Billions of dollars go to the military each year and this is the best we can do for our vets.

6:07 takes an opportunity to swing & miss at DT? Really? If we're looking for blame I'd say it probably lies with LBJ or slightly after. The VA has been a disgrace for years. We are simply a society which now communicates more clearly & crassly than it used to, thus abuses have come to light in the past 50 yrs. What I find amazing are the number of Congresspeople who claim special relationships or interests in veterans - then continue year after year to fail them. If we had an investigation of the VA funded with a fraction of the money spent on this Russian witch-hunt perhaps we could find some solutions.

2 doctors I know said the worst part of residency was 2 months spent at VA facilities...both said they would have quit if they had to work at a VA hospital...1 said there are worse things than death...being a VA patient can be 1 of them..

10:35 only two?

90% of the docs i trained with hated the system. When I was a resident (not in Mississippi) I thought it was very telling when I saw the obituary of a former VA physician, retired military himself, who got all his own care at the county hospital.

No, 6:07, The Donald won't take credit nor is he to blame. But progressives like you will attempt to push that claim.

Although, as 7:06 pointed out, every president after JFK (at least), shares responsibility. But, at no time in our history have we heard more do-nothing-posturing and insincere bloviating about this subject than in the 8 years prior to the current administration.

Please return to the dugout. You struck out. Take the bench-seat at the far end.

FYI, should any of you still have a living WWII vet in your family who is denied benefits because of the " fire" that supposedly burned all the "records", the VA location in your State where your father was released from service always has had a copy of those records.
I discovered this when my father died and I was able to guilt a VA worker into sending me everything they had on my father.
VA denied knowing he was ever wounded but the records are extremely detailed about his severe wound in France and subsequent treatment down to times and doctors and every action taken or not taken. The letters denying to not only my father, but our elected representatives that my father was wounded are also in the very thick file.
I've offer to copy and share this file ( and let them see the original documents with elected officials and reporters for years but no takers so far.

It is very simple. No one actually cares about the veterans. Of course you will see people at any parade carrying their little China made flag that they later throw in the gutter. I have tried talking to the news media. They will not even answer the phones. There is no one at the VA hospital to talk to. I have even called the governor's office. Forget call the suicide emergency number, no one will answer the phone.
The VA hospital should be an embarassment to all of our citizens. It isn't as none of the citizens care.

My Dad is now 98. His brother is 100. Both are retired military. Both are long time Mississippi residents. In my Dads case it was the Navy during WWII then the Naval Reserve for 28 years. In my Uncles case, he was a Marine Corps pilot in WWII, Korea and the early days of Vietnam. And while they both have had their own medical issues in life, one thing is certain: Neither stepped foot in the V.A. Hospital. Ever.

My retired USAF dad would have been a hundred a few years back. I remember a multitude of surgeries and other medical procedures over the years. He (also) never set foot in a VA facility.

The DOD budget gets TRILLIONS each year for their black budget projects and cannot presently account for over $21 Trillion. The Pentagon is currently undergoing its first audit ever. Each day our Congressmen spend $2BILLION on the war which our grandchildren will be paying off when they're grandparents.

"War is a Racket" by General Smeadley Butler and "Every War is a Banker's War" are required reading/viewing if you are still making the ill-informed argument that it's a particular political party at fault. The answer...they're all in it together and we aren't in their profit sharing club, nor do I want to be. Since the days of Ceasar, Veterans of war have always been mistreated/discarded after they're no longer useful and that is an absolute disgrace!

Whatever happened to the VA doc who blew the whistle on the Jackson VA for prescribing the ridulously high amounts of opioids? I don't think the VA's policy changed...until recently w the draconian regs but that only placed the vets in a worse situational hole to have to crawl out of now w the added horrors of facing a massive withdrawal added to their other conditions. Yes, the VA really is a fabulous federal agency...NOT!

My grandfather fought in Italy in WWII and I wonder what he would've done if he knew that:
1. That the transnational corporations (ie Standard Oil and Ford)shipped essential items (fuel) to Germany and Japan that made the attacks on London and Pearl Harbor possible. Balfour and his ilk had to pull the US in

2. That Hitler was allowed to escape and live in South America into old age, even though the FBI and CIA both knew where he was and NEVER attempted to apprehend him- the most notorious mass-murderer in our recent history

I remember asking him his opinion of going into Iraq before Bush 2 invaded. He told me that more diplomacy was needed first. I would watch the agonizing/sickening/disgusting look come over his face when the war hawks would flippantly banter about sending troops in. I so wish now that I had asked him more but I'm sure he wouldnt have told me the specifics because he NEVER discussed the bad parts of his experience over there.

I have been a patient at the Jackson MS VA for years. I have found the doctors and nurses to be incredible. While I agree the system is not perfect, I have been very happy with the service received from the Jackson VA.

In my training, I worked at a number of VA hospitals, one in Boston, one in Albany, NY, and one in Pittsburgh, PA. Although I hated the mentality of the folks who worked there, the quality of medical care was good. This, I believe, was because of the quality of the medical schools associated with them.

Part of my med school training was at the VA. It was bad. The reason is you can't fire anyone. Incompetence, laziness and general surly attitude prevail among the employees.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
