Andre Kennedy was arraigned on April 21 after he was indicted on February 26 for the May 2015 kidnapping and armed robbery of a Northeast Jackson doctor. The doctor managed to escape and kill Kennedy's alleged partner Edwin "Guttalife Dee" Robinson.
The victim was going to his truck in the driveway of his Ridgewood home when the two thugs jumped out of a car and
held him up at gunpoint around 7:30 AM. The two hoodlums forced the
doctor to drive to an ATM and then to some
woods at Eastover Drive and Pinewood. They robbed him of $1,500 and
told him they were going back to his home to do some unmentionable
things to his wife. He managed to jump out of the vehicle and grab a
pistol behind the seat. Guttalife went to the gutter as the good
doctor pumped him full of led while Kennedy fled. The victim was
ironically packing his truck to attend a shooting competition at
Magnolia Pistol and Shooting Range when he was kidnapped. May 2015 post.
The case is assigned to Hinds County Circuit Judge Jeff Weill. Hinds County public defender Chris Routh represents the defendant. Mr. Routh asked the court to dismiss the case after he charged the court had taken more than thirty days to arraign Mr. Kennedy. Judge Weill set Kennedy's trial for August 8, 2016 at 1:30 PM. Judge Weill set his bond at $150,000 ($50,000 per count).

Weill vs Routh again? Getting tedious.
It's unfortunate the good doctor did not get both of them, then the taxpayers would not have had to feed and house this one or pay his legal bills when everyone knows he is guilty. What a waste of time and money!
So, for a few thousand dollars he's back on the skreet. Also charged with capital murder.
How many counts were there?
he was initially charged with capital murder, but the grand jury didn't indict him on that charge. in a law school exam, he's responsible for his partner's death, but in the real world of first judicial district of Hinds county, not likely to get a conviction where the victim kills the robber...
Maybe the doctor will get another chance at the one who got away. Can't depend on the law for help. They let them out as fast as they commit the crimes.
In Hinds County they sure do.
This article didnt mention it, but I think a previous article at the time of the suspects capture menrioned his was a guard with MDOC. He may go back to the same place and just change uniforms.
I love my Doctor - HE IS THE SHIT!!! I am so thankful he was not hurt and he was able to defend himself and his wife from this dirty scumbag. Only wish he had put some led into this thug too so he wouldn't have to relive the incident all over. SMH!!!!
