Well, this story just will not quit. The Clarion-Ledger just reported that Pete Perry, yes, that Pete Perry, was arrested for a DUI last night:
Officials with the Leake County Sheriff's Department confirm that Pete Perry of Jackson was arrested for DUI Saturday night.
A Leake County jailer confirmed the birth date and address of Perry, who is the chairman of the Hinds County Republican Party. Perry is from Leake County but lives in Jackson. Rest of article

Wouldn't be surprised if he was targeted.
Well, he HAS had a stressful few weeks.
Well, after the week he just had . . . .
@12:37
Apparently, the TP doesn't have a lock on conspiracy theories.
Were the individuals listed below the only elected republicans who appeared on the podium with Thad on election night?
Tate Reeves
Dick Hall
Gregg Harper
Delbert Hosemann
Phil Bryant
Stacy Pickering
Thanks!
This is beginning to remind me of the old Southwest Football Conference. For those who are not football fans - The Southwest Conference was a powerhouse conference. It include Texas. Oklahoma, Arkansas, and several more schools. Most from Texas. It lasted for 82 years. In the 1980's the schools started turning each other in for recruiting infractions. Some major and some minor. The biggest blow was that SMU was given the 'Death Penalty'.
Eventually, all but three schools in the conference landed on probation. This weakened the league. When leagues started cutting new TV deals, and stealing members from other leagues the weakened SWC could not survive.
As has been stated on here before the Republican party in Mississippi does not have a long history. They have been very small until recently. Now they have real competition within the party and neither side has a plan for dealing with it. I am certain there are smart people on both sides of this fight, but they are not acting smart.
This should cost Pete about $10K. No one should drink and drive..
At 1:21, of those you reference only Tate and Gregg Harper were on the podium to my knowledge. The Governor wasn't even in the country.
Will Kingfish publish the police report of the DUI arrest? What time did the arrest occur?
Set 'em up Joe and play Walking the Floor.
Using TP logic, Chris McDaniel and all of the politicians endorsing him are responsible for Pete's problem
If he did wrong, he deserves to be punished. He should know better - especially at his age. I am a friend of his, but wrong is wrong.
Blame it in Boosh! Viva la Mehexico!!
Where is the mugshot?
121 Wasn't Mary Hawkins on the stage with him?
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
No wonder KF site gets so interesting in the evening....toddy time.
Yeah, sure, he was targeted....oohh by the tea party..yeah that's right. What did they do? Send a knock-out blonde with a drink in her hand and pour it down his throat? Yep, he was targeted alright. What kind of conspiracy theory can the Cochran campaign come up with on this one? It's nothing but irresponsible behavior just like other things that have been done. Is this worth $60,000? Is this what they paid for? WOW!
Hope he wasn't consulting while he was drunk - but I guess you get what you pay for...
Pete Perry is the Junior Samples of Republican Politics. The only thing he was guilty of was cruising around looking for a roadside garbage freezer to steal and make a worm-farm out of. He has the instructions from Billy McCoy.
Let's see a mugshot KF!
I am a Cochran supporter and make no apologies for my choice. However, I do not care who you support in the Senate race, what age you might be, what color you are, if you are Democrat or Republican, you SHOULD NOT DRINK AND DRIVE. You are a menace to yourself and others on the road. Pete should have know better! Regardless of this issue, it has absolutely nothing to do with the current Senate race. It is just one more subject to gossip about.
Was Pete Perry trying to drink his sorrows away for he fears this McDaniel investigation may catch up with him?
Kim Wade came out on Wednesday announcing at least 5K fraud votes are in Hinds Co Court House because he went there and investigated Wednes morn. (He said QUOTE him on this news!)
PP has been soooo arrogant in this race. No wonder he took a big fall in Leake Co. Who's next?
Changing the subject... Mississippi deserves that number 1rank position as the most corrupt state in the nation! Mississippi has taken a huge fall.
Thanks Haley and Cochran and Pete Perry and Henry. McDaniel ran a much cleaner race than you slimy dudes did!
Come October, I am sure Travis will be showing Cochran and Kay Webber in their all too close pictures to all bluish gray haired elderly ladies who will turn on Thad! And you folks will regret Cochran ever ran again.
Mississippi will take another HUGE blow in November when Cochran gets the boot!
We'll all look like stooges and will deserve it. No wonder we are ranked last in everything except corruption..!
If he gets convicted maybe he can get Haley to have Phil pardon him.
Good old boy politics at it's worst.
The arrest report said his breath smelled like J&B.
In case you missed the Brit's Daily Mail post with the accompaning radio broadcast audios authorized by a Barbour front organization, Citizens for Progress and carried out by Carol Stern.
Wonder how many commenters here are free from guilt in ever having had a few drinks behind wheel. Give Pete a break.
Thank God for Mississippi.
lemme guess, butler-snow is representing pet and the arresting officers will suddenly suffer from selective mnesia....the only good thing is that the necks in leake county justice system are rigid beyond belief!
Is someone trying to put a spin on how a DUI arrest is relevant to the election results?
7:12 please tell me you have gone to bed and put the bottle down. Read your post.
40 days on the County Farm
The Daily Mail = Fox News who pronounce schedule as 'shed-ule'.
Don't be fooled by the accent. They're just as daft.
503 -- PP has absolutely nothing to do with the senate race? Have u like not been awake for a while??? Rumplestilskin...?? oh heck too long to spell but u get the message.
Sorry folks, no setup. Highway 16 runs in front of the Silver Star and 26 miles back toward Jackson is the Carthage city limits. Roadblocks are common and the highway is well patrolled. There is a Wally-World, McDonald's and other businesses. It is a major artery through the city. Drunk drivers would be a major hazard. Thus, heavy enforcement. Have a problem with that? Don't drink and drive. This ain't Fondren.
1259 thanks for your input but.....ANY road is a hazard for a drunk or an innocent person not just in that area. it does not have to be I heart traveled area it only takes one drunk to kill or hurt someone. My sister was hit by a drunk driver and wheelchair bound rest of her life, broke her spine. she was on her way to work. and the other person was not on their way to work they were on their way back from getting drunk. so it doesn't matter if its a neighborhood street or a highway any area is unsafe for a drunk slob.
and it would not matter if it was a set up as some people may say that cops were waiting on him, if he was drunk on the road then the drunk needs to be put in jail and taking off the street. drunks are drunks. if they can't wait to go home and drink then they have a drinking problem. it is just responsible behavior. so anytime you see someone drinking at a restaurant or bar and then leave in their car and drive, that is a hazard and I wish cops would sit outside and wait at these places and catch their asses before they kill someone. A drunk is a drunk is a drunk is a drunk and I don't care who they are...republican or democrat
8:25....i wrote that post on an ipad while watching tv....wish i had a bottle, it'd be better than watching the MS republican party commit seppuku by continuing to follow haley's narratives. i should have realized there were some politically-correct grammar-nazis on here so i will try to proof em in the future for your benefit
I agree it's irresponsible behavior.
I don't agree " targeting" wouldn't matter.
I find " probable cause" to be an important individual protection.
Law enforcement can't be used in a free society for political or personal gain.
Maybe he was set up. I got a call last Monday night from a Joff with a Carthage number inviting me to a tea party tele-town hall meeting. Hmmmmmmm......
But, whether he was set up or not, if he was indeed intoxicated and driving, I'm glad he was removed from behind the wheel.
He got caught driving under the influence. That is the bottom line.
What really concerns me is that he was released in about an hour, which means he was released still under the influence and could have climbed right back behind the wheel.
6:43pm, There is NO excuse for drunk driving, I don't care who you are or who else has done what, there is NO excuse.
@11:31, you said "He got caught driving under the influence." Actually, he got caught ALLEGEDLY driving under the influence.
The next time you get accused of doing something wrong (and you eventually will), let's hope people don't PRESUME that you are guilty.

3rd time is the charm 12:56, 12:58, and 1:00.
I understand some TP-Carthage-version-of-Barney-Fike pulls P Perry over, sees his Thad shirt and bumper sticker, recognizes his name and hauls him in...that doesn't mean Pete was actually charged with a DUI. What's the real story here?
I did not think of that ......if they did not keep him overnight he was still intoxicated. The alcohol does not leave your system that quick. Surely the police department did not let him get behind the wheel when he left.....hopefully he had someone pick him up. Did they give him a breathalyzer or did he refuse? If they did and got him for DUI, he is not innocent until proven guilty. In my opinion he is guilty of being drunk. And for the person that asked how many of the bloggers have been behind the wheel drinking --me never! I lost two dear friends to drunk drivers, one was a child. So for those of you that are defending folks that get DUIs, you have never lost a loved one due to a drunk slob.
Rumor is that Barney Fike arrested P Perry, took him to the station where Pete took a breathalyzer test which he did not fail, subsequently he received a citation for speeding, and was allowed to leave in his own. Can you haters/TP'rs please explain where this info originated?
Pete"the Cheat" Perry---Drivin' after Drinkin' in that big ol' Lincoln, kinda' pissed off after the big runoff,so he drank some Smirnoff to try and cool off,-----and then he took off, drinkin'and drivin' in what he thought was his hot rod Lincoln. He then got caught and taken' to jail, only to be released with no bail, and with the ability to set sail, yet again in that big ol' Republican approved hot rod Lincoln.Carthage,MS---Leake County. Several local media outlets reported PP was arrested and charged with DUI.
