Thanks be to God. What a merciful blessing his death is. He and Susan are reunited.
WELL STATED, #1 POST,...
he escaped earthly justice. he had another gate to get past before being "reunited" with his victim...
7:29, you sure sound bitter and judgmental. If you are a Christian I would hope you would pray for him instead of condemn him with your unkind words.
sooooo-729--then I guess the Nazi guards who accepted "Jesus" get in da Pearly Gates while Jews they guarded--many who lived "good lives" are condemned to hell?
ive seen the word "thug" on JJ used to describe man persons- was this man a "thug"? Does a "thug" deserve the condemnation of the Lord? What about one of the men crucified with Jesus- Showed him some big time mercy. NONE of us knows why he murdered his wife- none knows what happened in his mind and heart after a momentary thug moment. but what we do know is that if repented there was mercy, grace, and acceptance
8:45 you are an idiot. Please castrate yourself today.
So glad Susan is reunited with her murderer!
I have not really commented on this subject but I'm going to respond to some of the comments. My comment and opinion are based on information from the police, neighbors, and family friends.
Dr. Mayfield suffered from Parkinson's. Serious problems began with the medication used to treat the condition. He began hallucinating. The Monday night the tornadoes and storms ripped through Mississippi, he left the house because he was terrified by them and hid in the bushes of a neighbor's house. She had to come get him to come home.
Supposedly when he shot her, she didn't want to go to the hospital because she was worried about him. He allegedly grew extremely agitated when he though a man was calling her on the phone. Sad part is a man probably was from what I'm told.... because his long-time friends and colleagues called on a daily basis to help her with him and see if he needed anything.
Someone claimed we were giving a pass while beating up on certain thugs on this website. Here is the difference. You take some guy, has a history of violence and crime, we get mad because you can tell from his history this is a bad guy who needs to be locked up.
This doctor was well known. Helped many people throughout his life. IN other words, you had a long life's body of work to review in order to determine his character.
Then he suffers from Parkinson's, everyone around him says he started having severe side effects and hallucinations from the drugs, and suddenly he freaks out with a shotgun and shoots his wife.
I seriously doubt the DA could have obtained a conviction. We all criticize the system but the system does provide for a mental evaluation of this man in order to determine if he really knew what he was doing. The insanity plea is often abused but it was created for cases such as this one.
I was told he never truly knew what he did. I think this is just a tragedy.
Kingfish, This is 8:29PM--I wanted to say thank you for your comment. While I know he probably had his moments, as recently as December Dr. Mayfield was a great help in changing my 8yr old daughter's Rx to help her migraines.
And to @12:32: Yes, Dr. Mayfield killed Mrs. Susan but he was no murderer. I am relieved for all involved that this is over.
Good one Kingfish. Find a highly emotional one and throw it at the wall to see if it sticks. It seems to have, to some degree. You got the semites, the anti-semites, the Christians, the jurors, those who stand in judgment and the weepers from the pews all ginned up and having a pissing contest.
Takes the heat off Rose's Thad for a moment.
Read that last comment from our host. And that, my friends, is why he's the KINGFISH.
And why 3:49 is a sad, PATHETIC POS.
That you Kingfish (at 6:16 and 6:38)?
there are some sick people in this world and I am talking about the one that made such horrible comments. we did not know the health of this man. Parkinson's is a horrible disease. I was a caretaker for a man with Parkinsons and dementia and I can clearly understand how things like this could happen. don't be judgemental until you have had to deal with this terrible sickness. taking care of the elderly with these illnesses opens your eyes to a reality that such closed minded individuals will never encounter unless they have to deal with it themselves.... but usually people that make comments like that are usually the ones that throw their family into nursing homes collect their money and move on.
Such a sad case. Thankful this man is no longer suffering.
William and Susan were long time friends. He had been going down for the last year. At least they are reunited in heaven. God bless them!
What's this 'reunited in Heaven' shit?
Thank you, Kingfish, for publicly saying what many privately knew. No one wants to expose the private battles many go through as they age, particularly when illness and the medication that go along with treating it can cause a wonderful person to leave reality for periods of time. As sad as I am for the family, this is the best possible outcome. From all reports, they loved and tried to protect each other. When your father, mother, spouse, or friend loses their grip on reality due to no fault of their own, you may not be quite so judgmental. And I hope that your loved ones don't condemn you should it be you that has to live such a nightmare. Hoping he never had a clue what happened. The family will always be broken hearted, but, yes, they have the ASSURANCE that Bill and Susan are together and happy. If you don't accept that, it's ok, but don't critcize those whose faith is real and sure, even in such a horrific time for them.
7:33, I am praying that God will open your heart, remove your hate, and give you peace.
For those who have never experienced how some medications can effect a person (Parkinson's in particular), please do not make judgements on this subject. This is a awful disease process and sadly, the meds that help with many aspects of it can cause these terrible side effects. It truly is a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation.
Wonder if his family will get any of that big fat retainer back,
