Chris Keiffer reports in the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal a new education PAC has been created:
A new organization has formed to advocate for public schools in Mississippi.
Better Schools, Better Jobs filed papers with the Secretary of State’s Office on Jan. 8 to form a non-profit with the planned activity of “advocacy for MS public schools.”
On Friday, it turned in paperwork to create a political action committee, which allows it to raise funds for political activity.
“Today is starting the effort to get organized with what I hope will improve our schools and get us off the bottom of the nation,” said Jackson CPA Charles Lindsay, who filed the paperwork.
Lindsay, who served on the Jackson Public School Board from 2000 to 2006, said he hopes the effort gets statewide support.
“We will be exploring ways to improve education and build strong schools,” he said. “The fact is we are consistently last on several lists. This is an opportunity to bring together people from across the state to focus on education. Our children need and deserve better.”
The organization is still planning its course of action, he said. Article

How many more advocates does the public school system need? Obama wants to give the "middle class" free college educations, ratification in school curriculums and testing, more spending, and on and on. When will the focus begin on discipline and concern by parents?
