The Apothecary issued the following press release:
JACKSON, MISS – The Apothecary at Brent’s
Drugs, recently named one of the South’s best new bars by both Garden & Gun and Southern Living, will be participating
in Southern Living’s South-Wide Happy
Hour this Friday, Feb. 7, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
For the event, Southern Living editors scoured the region and have chosen some of
the South’s best new bars. In celebration, bars across the region will be
featuring special happy hour drinks and prices on Friday. The Apothecary’s
feature cocktail will be the “Doc Noble,” named in honor of a former Brent’s
Drugs’ pharmacist and made with pecan and cayenne infused rye, demerara,
angostura bitters, and lemon for $6.50. Other cocktails available for the happy
hour price will be Apothecary favorites like the Mamie Taylor, Rum Old
Fashioned, and Chamomile Collins.
“We are honored to be chosen by two
outstanding publications as one of the South’s best new bars,” says Apothecary
co-owner Jonathan Shull. “It’s a privilege to be in a category with
establishments of this caliber. We are grateful by how the community has
embraced The Apothecary and look forward to lots of great times ahead in our
little back room.”
The Apothecary at Brent’s Drugs opened in
June 2013 in the back of the Jackson institution of Brent’s Drugs, located at
655 Duling Avenue in Jackson’s Fondren district. With a goal of bringing
classic cocktails made for the highest quality ingredients, the fresh approach
to imbibing has been well received by the City of Jackson. Visit
