Here's another home that is becoming an eyesore in Northeast Jackson. 5444 Ridgewood Road, right before Saratoga. Its owned by Timothy Hawkins. Quick search of county records reveals he owns another home on Enochs and apparently lives on Westchester. Have not been able to reach him by phone. City informed me said plywood is NOT illegal when I just called.

You need to go after the one on Old Canton and Adkins with the blown out garage. Looks like someone drove into the side of the house about 5 years ago. Plastic has been dangling there for years.
2:54, I agree. This eyesore has been a focal point for anyone stopped at the light or just passing that house.
What a mess. I hope the owner doesn't think they are covering the awful condition of that structure by just putting up that flimsy piece of plastic blowing in the wind.
Things just keep getting worse in Jackson, but it seems all the focus of the moneymakers is on making downtown Jackson the "magic city" while the rest of Jackson falls into ruin.
And no, I do not believe a successful downtown will improve the overall problems here.
If only we could get a new arena built in Jackson all of these problems would suddenly solve themselves and disappear.
Guys, I can only do this one at a time. Hang in there.
It is a shame with people needing housing that these are left as eyesores!
Always amazed when people construct an argument that no one ever made, then tear it to shreds.
Jackson's on the road to becoming a little Detroit.
Surely our Jackson City Council will understand the merit of passing an ordinance that will forbid the boarding of windows and doors with plywood.
A ghetto takes shape one boarded home at a time.
Taxes! Are usually the reason a landlord cannot pay for repairs.
I don't see a thing wrong with this house. Are y'all going to go around and cite houses you don't like for destruction?
Plywood windows for nearly a year? Oh well, some pigs like living in slop.
If a foreclosed home has broken windows the bank requires the windows to be boarded for safety, not only from vandals but from the elements, as well. If the home receives water damage, it will be much harder to get financing.
