thats right next to Churchhill Smoke Shoppe, which has large crowds on saturday nights
The detectives will grill the suspects until they confess.
Another sports bar with a fancy name staying open way later than even the West Coast games require. Unless, maybe they're entertaining the multitudes of Soccer and Cricket fans in the area... 🤔
A shootout in Jackson??? Wow that’s a surprise!
When will crime become a priority for Jackson’s mayor and city council?? Good thing I don’t live in Jackson
Stay TF out of Jackson. Always.
Hear, hear.
This must not be within the Capitol PD's area. The JPD does not deter thugs, period.
It will never be a priority. If crime went down, more businesses and people would move into Jackson, the people in office now would eventually be voted out. They have to think about their jobs and careers.
Thanks a lot Othor. 39211 has gone to shit. Admit it.
Isn't that where the video store used to be? The owners were nice. Different world, now....
My favorite video store moment was when an elderly man came in, and loudly asked, "You got any Burt Reynolds movies? Ah lak ol' Burt Reynolds!" (our adolescent daughter, who'd recently had the difference explained to her, between closeted men, and overt types like our Decorator and or Ad Man, was casting sardonic glances at her brothers).
The kid behind the desk, recommended Boogie Nights (which concludes with Mark Wahlberg fishing-out a gigantic prosthetic - um - "thingie" - and saying into a mirror, "Om uh sthar. Om uh great-big shinin' sthar!"
My husband suggested sending an ambulance to the address on the man's membership card, since he'd probably be having a heart attack, in about two hours. But I'm thinking the man, thereafter, started saying, "Ah LAK ol' Mark Wahlberg!"
That’s what I do for almost 30 years
Madison Hoodlums. Grill the suspects 'til they fess up!
I lived in NE Jackson for 80 years!!! I cannot believe what Jackson has become. Moved to Madison 5 years ago…… best decision I have ever made. I weep for the home of my upbringing …….
Power School, Bailey Jr. High, Murrah High, Millsaps College …. Office on Capital St. 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵
Grew up about a mile N of there. What a great area then! Radio Shack, Swensen’s, DeVille Cinema, Wilson’s…… Wonder why it’s changed?
Just Sadd!! But same folks go other places, like Jazz Festivals in other counties and get some act right all day long!!! Sadd!!
If she left hospital before being treated then someone knows & SHOULD report her!
3:49 It looks like we both had a similar life track except that I left Jackson in 1975 and moved to Madison. When we lived in Briarwood I could hop on my bicycle at night and ride down to the Tote-sum and get something at night for my wife or children. I would not do that now. Same age and college.
Swensen’s and DeVille Cinema were my first thoughts as well 3:53 PM.
Jackson is not only a different world in 2026 ... but a different universe.
Deville Plaza is now a place
no one will want to go. So goes
all of north Jackson.
That is the sight of the ole Dog and Suds. They have the best Wings in town but I am afraid to venture into it.
Ace Hardware manager, in nearby slot of Deville, told me cost paid during business hours for armed guard presence in parking lot outrageously expensive.
I like the store, but can see the extra security cost reflected in prices.
3:53 You probably lived in the Belhaven area and are a member of the Murrah ‘64 crowd. Back then there were no shootings in any part of Jackson.
That place needs to be declared a public nuisance. They can’t not shoot each other, much less not trash the parking lot every night. Lazy worthless ownership.
Callaway class of 1975. Jackson was safe then, too. At this point, it's too far gone. Even if Horhn wanted to fix Jackson, he's up against the fact that black voters consider any move towards law and order as racist. This ghetto attitude has pervaded every aspect of life in Jackson making it a miserable place to live.
Kim Waid for King. King Kim has sort of a ring to it. Krown Kim King! He'll put a stop to this here shit.
Mair Hohrn is aptly named. All he gone do is toot it.
Callaway and Murrah grads, I've children your age and you shouldn't have been out that late. There certainly WAS trouble at the Dutch Bar and other such places. Indeed, there was a serial rapist murderer and a high school boy from a good Jackson family was murdered in those days. I doubt y'all were keeping up with the news. Parents need to know the parents of their kid's friends and know who supervises well and who doesn't. The divorce rates weren't as high and both parents working wasn't common in those days.
8:23am
King Kong Kim, Radio Strong Man, surfing from building to building via radio waves.
No one is claiming that there were no murders in Jackson in the 1960s and 1970s. But Jackson's recognition as the murder capital of America is based on the current phenomenon of feral young black male killing another feral young black male.
Start playing country music and oldies at these establishments. They’ll all run back to south JXN. However, I feel that with the family unit never returning to most homes in Jackson, it will never return to a civilized city. Unfortunately, every one of the suburbs will look the same way in 50 years.
"Capitol Grill" seems a bit of a rip off of "Capital Grille", a high end steak house restaurant in other cities.
