It wasn't that long ago that Madison was little more than a hamlet.

Man, I miss Jitney.
And Madison will stand the test of time. Why? Extreme covenants. And the buildings are made to be timeless in design, they'll never have to be "renovated" to be brought up to what the trending style is.
God save Mayor Mary and let her successor be just as extreme in the right direction. Critics of Mary fail to realize it's one way or the other. Either you are hardnosed and a "tyrant" about covenants, or you end up with Pearl or Canton. or Jackson.
Correct. Right ON.LONG LIVE MARY!!
9:13 AM makes great points.
Mary Hawkins Butler has done a phenomenal job with the City of Madison. She err’s on the side of extreme caution, she doesn’t trust anybody and automatically assumes the worst of people, but at the end of the day, she does what is best for the City of Madison, and has made it the incredible city it is today.
I wish they would make Madison the state capital
Madison is one of Mississippi safest places to live. Jackson is one big Sanford and son
Oh I don’t Kroger is much better
Madison is safe, clean and has good schools. No ghettos here
Exactly. Madison will always be the envy and butt of the joke for the less fortunate mouth breathing dreamers. They hate it because it's everything "they" aren't and can never be. Repeal the 19th and watch America become great again.
Amen! Thanks to Mayor Mary, Madison has NOT become Jackson!
"Timeless" is just another word for "bland"
AMEN....we can thank Mary Hawkins Butler, whether we agree with her on everything or not. Madison is a great place to live and raise children.....thank you Mayor Mary for your "tenacity"!!
