Someone got stupid over at Green Ghost Tacos in the Fondren. WAPT reported:
At approximately 12:30 AM, on November 30th, Capitol Police officers responded to a call regarding a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers found one individual suffering from non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. Officers gathered information and evidence and made contact with the driver. The driver, 19-year-old Rodolfo Padilla, was arrested and charged with failure to stop and remain at an accident resulting in serious injury.
WAPT reported the truck drove into the group of people during a fight. Green Ghost Tacos said no one involved was a customer.

Looks like a bunch of high school kids. Does that place have an age requirement?
Now that Fonden is becoming increasingly "diverse", it is doomed.
Junior varsity - no guns involved.
This is way I stay out of Jackson
People try to play it down by saying it’s an isolated incident. Well Jackson seems to have a LOT of isolated incidents! Why don’t people just be honest. Jackson is like the movie road warrior
The Fondren is doomed.
nothing like a parking lot of crappy cars
Was there Saturday and never will be again. The “culture”
Attention retarded “Fondren is doomed” crowd: Green Ghost Tacos is good mexican in the daytime, but at night it becomes a club. Shit happens at every bar and every club. No this isn’t right, but it HARDLY means Fondren is “doomed”. If you don’t think this could happen at Shucker’s, you’re wrong.
“This is why I stay out of Jackson!!” says idiot #561248. Why would you go to a late night club in any town? Do you think they will run you over if you go to Jackson? My gosh, you people are delusional. Do y’all not see the incidents in Jackson are almost always DOMESTIC? You are not going to be shot or robbed if you stop at Highland Village or eat in Fondren. Hell, not with Capitol Police in town!
Then it's doomed when the sun is down.
You must be the COJ's spin doctor.
Have more / better security.
I like most am totally fatigued, really tired!
For every pearl clutching paintywaist that “won’t go to Jackson”, I see plenty of Madison county tags in the Roosters, Fondren Guitars and Saltine parking lots, every day…
All the businesses in Fondren close at midnight. And I would remind the old folks that the Dutch Bar and old Cherokee had fights break out as well late in the night.
6:33 am is absolutely right. And, I would remind the "old white folks" and "newly self-righteous" that The Dutch Bar and Cherokee were once night spots as well as the old Lamar downtown. Then there are the legislators party spots where they hang out at night. I swear, some of you must have never had any friends or any fun at all ever.
The best fights were at the Hat & Cane on McDowell Road back in the day. I once saw 2 waitresses get into a brawl stabbing broken off beer bottles at each other in the middle of the bar floor. We were underage and thought the cops would show up so we left. And never went back.
And I see nothing but Hinds county tags at both Krogers in Madison, Walmart, the new Aldi, Costco, Sam’s.
You can keep Roosters, lol.
@7:46 - The cops were probably already there having a drink. The only time that I went to the Hat & Cane was with an off-duty Jackson cop. Some of his coworkers were there too.
One of the worst fights I personally witnessed was in the parking lot of Pops, which is very near the Hat & Cane. The police never came - probably because they weren't called. Some college boys learned the meaning of FAFO.
@8:41am Go to Highland Village and check out just how many Madison County tags are at Whole Foods at any given time. You can keep your cheap grocery stores, peasant!
@7:45 AM - I saw some good fights at the Embers Club, also on McDowell Road. In Fondren it was the Recovery Room, Shakey’s Pizza, Beer Garden (Big Mike’s) in addition to those mentioned above.
9:19, You think lower income residents can afford Whole Foods, genius? Jackson is a food desert especially South and West Jackson. Just because you elite Belhaven and Fondren people can afford $8 a gallon milk at WF doesn’t mean the rest of us can. There aren’t enough affordable grocery stores in Jackson. You’re slamming cheap grocery stores and the poor that need them.
9:19 for the win. Suck it, 8:41.
@9:46am, I was only matching 8:41's snobby attitude, but hopefully you know there is a Piggly Wiggly on Meadowbrook, Kroger on 55 frontage, Corner Market in Fondren, and Corner Market on Northside Dr... Plenty of Whole Foods alternatives. I don't even shop at Whole Foods, Corner Market for me!
I miss the old Cherokee
Shout out for the Recovery Room!
AGREE 8:43. Done. The culture.
Had my first beer in a bar at the rec room….I was 15
Not all of the culture, but always the culture
The affordable grocery stores in south and west Jackson closed shop because of theft and parking lot mischief, among other things. Those responsible for the closures then protest about and wonder why those areas have become “food deserts”.
