Handicap abuse is rampant in America these days and there are TONS of Hinds County tags parked at Madison businesses in handicap. Why do we have to beg law enforcement to enforce the law? Even in Madison it seems like there is no control or order.

I wish law enforcement could go after folks who park in these spots. I understand there are 10,000 more important crimes. But as someone who had a mom in a wheelchair and an elderly friend on a walker, its a nightmare when folks park for "convenience". I have to admit, when someone parks in one, I glance at the rear view mirror and the tag. I get this lady's frustration. I've spoken up before--excuse me, this is handicap parking and I get the nastiest look. Wish I could give them a $500 ticket.

I will say this, having a couple of friends that require handicap accessibility......there are those that feel they are entitled to park wherever they want, and HC spaces seem to be their favorite. I assume it is mental handicap for them, as what I have viewed shows no physical need. Watched one female park in a HC space and go in the gym to workout.....go figure

Common courtesy and decency is lost on some.

The woman who parked illegally posted this on a Clinton FB page bragging about it. It was taken down but it's still on her own FB page. Makes you wonder which laws, if any, she is willing to follow.

I moved to metro Jackson in 2022 from Chicago. It’s funny people try to compare Jackson to Chicago except the city of Chicago is only 27% black. This stuff wasn’t common at wal mart there. It’s southern culture I think.

The solution is never to confront a person who is improperly parked in a handicap space. The solution is to call the local police department as the manager of a store in the area and report th tag number and request an inspection and tow.
