Update: JJ verified with law enforcement the alleged incident happened at Rainbow Daycare in Florence.
Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey issued the following statement.
On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department arrested Sharon Elaine Young for seven (7) counts of Contributing to the Neglect of a Child.
The arrest comes after a week-long investigation into allegations that Young abused multiple children while she was employed at a Florence day care facility.
During the course of the investigation, evidence was obtained that unequivocally shows Young abusing children under her care at the facility. Investigators with the sheriff’s office are working this case in partnership with the Mississippi State Department of Health.
At the conclusion of the investigation an arrest warrant was obtained through the Rankin County Court.
After her arrest, Sharon Young was transported to the Rankin County Detention Center and given a $20,000 bond.

The press release is very vague. What exactly constituted the abuse?
Bryan Bailey is the poster child for abuse.
Which daycare?
"Unequivocal" and "alleged." Pick one.

Maybe she was feeding the kids Cheap Peanut Butter...
RCSO and JJ are keeping this very quiet. The daycare owner must be connected.
I would bet my last dollar on, “they connected.”
Maybe they are vague due to it being children involved. There is, more than likely, camera footage of the incident that they are not going to show online. Would it be a good idea to release all the evidence early in an investigation?
They should at least name the daycare. Unless this woman was running the daycare out of her home, she had managers and colleagues. Tell us the name of the daycare!
Gotta watch those cameras. Damn things are everywhere now a days.
@7:47 - Ah, of course children are involved. It's a daycare. Revealing details of abuse does nothing to endanger or identify specific children. Seems to me the 'shopping public' has a right to know what was going on and where.
But Kingfish has other ideas and, as he often points out, it's his blog.
