Hinds County District Attorney issued the following statement.
Hinds County District Attorney Jody E. Owens, II, announced today that 50-year- old, Willie Alexander, Jr., former assistant basketball coach at Clinton Christian Academy, has pled guilty during trial to crimes involving a 14-year-old student-athlete under his supervision. On June 14, 2022, the victim’s mother reported to Clinton Police that her son disclosed ongoing sexual abuse by Alexander. The player reported that the abuse had been ongoing for several months at Alexander’s residence in Clinton. He explained that Alexander engaged in repeated sexual acts, forced him to participate, and attempted to normalize the conduct by grooming him with gifts and promises. The student also reported traveling with Alexander out of state to Dallas, Texas and New Orleans, Louisiana and said there were plans for additional trips, including Disney World. The player’s mother further reported that after her son’s disclosure, Alexander unexpectedly appeared at her residence. When confronted, he admitted to teaching the boy how to put on a condom.
The next day, Alexander voluntarily left a basketball game he was coaching and detectives executed a search warrant at his residence. During the search, investigators discovered sex toys, several recording devices, cellphones, media storage devices, laptops, tablets, lubricants, and a hidden recording device that had been concealed inside a Glade battery-operated air freshener in a shared bathroom. A van located at the residence also contained sex paraphernalia, including silicone devices and bottles of personal lubricant. Alexander was later transported by detectives to the Clinton Police Department. Alexander plead guilty to Sexual Battery and two counts of Exploitation of a Minor. He was found guilty on all counts and was sentenced to 30 years to be served under the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. “A coach should be a role model, not a predator. By speaking up, this child is a hero, who helped bring an abuser to justice,” said District Attorney Owens. “We will protect our children. We will protect our community, and we will hold abusers accountable.” Special thanks to Detective Amanda Johansson with the Clinton Police Department for her investigation.

B*llsh*t!!
Since Jody was indicted we can't shut him up. Is he working on his resume to be used at sentencing? No longer a "part-time" job?
One sick fuck! I have a feeling that someone at the school felt something was was going on with this coach, just something not right, just a gut feeling and said nothing!
CCA has been a cluster since its inception. A school that only exists so that boosters’ kids can be athletes and cheerleaders and the parents can be movers and shakers. Whatever. Meanwhile Clinton public beats their ACT scores by 150% and heaven knows how bad the sports scores would be.
He's probably wishing he was in DeSoto County. They go easier on this sort of thing up there.
I'll never understand why castration is considered "cruel and unusual" punishment for a crime as this. "Appropriate and overdue" is a better description.
I agree. If you see something, say something.
