Jackson developer and investor Gabriel Prado issued the following statement.
Gabriel Prado watches John Horhn speak
Gabriel Prado, CEO & President of PraCon Global Investment Group, announced today his endorsement of Sen. John Horhn for Mayor of Jackson. “Over the past several years, Pracon Global Investment Group has proudly invested in numerous commercial properties, businesses, and projects in the City of Jackson,” said Prado. “During that time, it has been my great privilege and honor to get to know Sen. John Horhn. Senator Horhn is a man of the people. He is someone who cares as much for the kids in the City’s neighborhoods as he does for the City’s business leaders. He will fight to bring security and prosperity to the people of Jackson, regardless of their background. I can personally testify that Sen. Horhn values all people as being created equally in God’s image. Sen. Horhn is a leader who serves the people,” Prado said. “Sen. Horhn’s extensive experience, his many accomplishments, and his collaborative approach to governing make him the perfect candidate for Mayor of the City of Jackson,” added Prado. “As the owner of many commercial properties and businesses in Jackson, and as a resident, I enthusiastically and wholeheartedly endorse Sen. Horhn for Mayor. I urge Jackson residents to make plans now to vote for Sen. Horhn in the runoff election on Tuesday, April 22, 2025,” Prado stated. Regarding the endorsement, Senator Horhn commented, “I’m deeply honored to receive Gabriel Prado’s endorsement. It’s a powerful vote of confidence in our shared vision for a stronger, more prosperous Jackson community. Together, we’ll keep pushing for the progress the City of Jackson deserves.” PraCon Global Investment Group invests in undervalued assets and transformational companies in the areas of real estate, finance, agriculture, technology, energy, healthcare, and automotive. Waiting for the no risk, snarky comments in 3. 2. 1…
I'll vote Horhn in the runoff and Kim Wade in the General, if they let me. Horhn is too old and too autocratic to be effective in bringing important business and prosperity to Jackson, but getting rid of Lil Choke is 1st order of business.
Dude you must be bored today.
I'll vote Horhn in the runoff and Kim Wade in the General, if they let me.
As long as you didn't vote in the GOP primary there is nothing stopping you from doing so.
Kim Wade has what experience other than a radio talk show host?
I'll vote against Lumumba in the runoff (ergo, vote for Hohrn) and vote for the candidate with some executive experience in the General - DePriest. Not going to waste my June vote as you are on Wade - the guy that said he knew he couldn't win but was running only to beat up on Chockwe; which is something he decided not to do once the campaign started.
While I disagree with your assessment on Wade, I agree on Hohrn; anything is better than Lil Choke, and Hohrn is too old and too autocratic. Besides, he has never run anything before, only been a member of the legislature and a not so effective one at that.
'Developer and investor'? Name something he's developed. He's a snake oil salesman and slum lord, one step above a used tractor-parts salesman.
"PraCon Global Investment Group invests in undervalued assets and transformational companies in the verticals of Real Estate, Finance, Agriculture, Technology, Energy, Healthcare, and Automotive."
Talk about 'word salad'.
4:51pm re Kim Wade:
Experienced real estate broker but I don't know his business credentials. He has been a credible conservative, public speaker and excellent communicator for Conservative causes since the Tea Party days or before. I personally wanted Tim Henderson to win but that dog didn't hunt. I'll take a look at DePriest.
@3:06 Horhn is one year older than Wade! LOL!
9:07 - Bravo - calling out the perfect example of no-knowledge posters knowing nothing and spreading ill rhetoric. Shitload of that on this site.
#anyonebutLumumba Seriously, I'd vote for a rabid raccoon over Chockwe. Or a rock. He's pushing out 24/7 promos on Jackson city social media that are just jaw dropping. A help line for property in disrepair? How bout an emergency number that answers 911? That'd be a start.
Let's see, developed TopGolf and is building a mixed-use development right next to it. Bought several gas stations in NE Jackson, made them much nicer and their crime problems disappeared. Bought the Drury hotel and is improving it. Bought the old Meadowbrook McRaes property and has plans for construction of loft apartments. Nope. Hasn't done anything.
Enough experience to not pretend to know what he doesn't know and enough wisdom to know that it is imperative that he surround himself with a highly experienced staff to which to delegate. My guess is that a Kim Wade win would result in accomplished people eager to help pitch in to turn Jackson around.
And the person I would hire immediately to lead the new position of Jackson Transparency Officer is Kingfish.
Typical of the Lumumba crowd to take shots as those who have actually accomplished something. Supposing the loser above would call your comment Kingfish "ill rhetoric".
Top Shelf!! Hahahahaha
"top shelf" is pretty funny. However, his current projects are impressive, his management of retail and residential in Jackson have been very positive and a lot of people are going to wet their pants when Prado announces the next business that is coming to Ridgeland...
DePriest has serious experience in entrepreneurship, corporate leadership and providing for/protecting a healthy family. Rodney has also spent the last few years getting to know the people on the "other side" of Jackson, learning what their drives and needs are and earning their respect. He is a respected and active member of 1st Baptist Jackson. You won't find a better candidate for mayor in jackson.
I’m voting for Horhn. Kim Wade wears makeup. I saw him in Sam’s in Madison this past weekend relaxing in the patio chair on display.
Confuscious say you do not hire someone who has been in the sytem 30 years and expect change
10:04. I love dreamers. Funny you say he has learned from the "other side of Jackson", as he obviously hasn't, if he actually thinks a white person can win in this demented, racist 85% city. SMDH in amazement.
The fact that Wade has no prior governmental experience is impertinent to whether he'd do well as Jackson's next mayor. What Jackson needs is an understanding of the main problems that plague the city and a willingness to actually name them AND address them. Listen to him any afternoon, and you'll discover he knows WHAT is going on in Jackson, he knows WHY those things are occurring, and he knows what to DO about those issues.
100% you'll never see Horhn make those connections OR do anything about them, if he does. He's a politician first, plain and simple. He's playing a game to defeat his opponents, not to make changes. If he prevails, you can refer to this post, wherein I TOLD YOU SO!
TJ’s in a no go unfortunately…
