A suspect apparently watched Beverly Hills Cop II a few too many times as he used a concrete truck to run though a few vehicles last Thursday in Desoto County. Police were forced to fire upon the suspect but he survived. Video of the chase and shooting is posted below.
The incident took place at the intersection of Goodman Road and Highway 51. The police chase began after the suspect was involved in a hit and run incident.
Just couldn't resist including this video.

Concrete trucks are dangerous...some concrete truck drivers are dangerous...most are ride rougher than Camel Back spring suspension Mack log trucks.
About 30 years ago, a concrete truck driver I knew was coming up on a stop sign on a major state Highway. Just prior to the stop sign was a convenience store. The driver became distracted by a girl wearing short-shorts walking to the store and forgot about the stop sign. The local Bank President's son had stopped at the stop sign in front of him. The wreck almost killed the boy.
Luckily the truck drivers father died about 4 years ago, and the driver became the 6th richest person in the County and promptly retired.
Thank you for correctly calling it a "concrete truck."
For the ignorant, it IS NOT a "cement truck." A cement truck is a flatbed that carries BAGS of....wait for it...cement, in BAGS.
@8:44 Cement is to concrete, as flour is to a cake. Cement is an ingredient in concrete.
You are correct, it is a concrete truck in the video. Cement is also carried (dry) in a truck with hoppers, similar to a truck that carries hydrated lime. So it's not always in bags.
The original post actually erroneously called it a cement truck. KF corrected it yesterday or today.
But it is clearly a concrete truck.
So a nut case having possibly a bad day driving a large vehicle mixing cement with aggregate and water plows through other vehicles, but we are blaming the truck?
So, now Mississippi Materials is on the hook for all of the damage! Which is not fair but with a team of lawyers going after them because the feller driving sure don’t have any insurance
Mississippi Code section 63-15-4, driving without proof of insurance could lead to conviction of a misdemeanor, imposition of a $500 fine, and suspension of driving privileges for up to one year (or until the offender can demonstrate that he or she is properly insured). I can tell you that the company Mississippi Materials has fleet coverage which will cover their driver, insured or not for his/her own POV. You will see a bunch of Morgan and Morgan/Richard Schwartz truck accident claims filed. Either way he is in trouble as will be the cops, if certain folks have their way, for using justifiable force in stopping the guy. He was using a deadly weapon.
