The Chief of Staff at the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics had enough and called it quits this week. MBN Chief of Staff Allison Killibrew pulled no punches in her resignation letter:
Kingfish note: Here is what is probably going on at MBN. The State Auditor has been investigating the spending practices of MBN officials for nearly two months. Word on the street is Dowdy has gotten very paranoid and is going after anyone he thinks is a rat. Apparently Ms. Killibrew had enough and said see ya to the Director.
Some people also don't get the sissy reference. Here ya go.

Up in Smoke.
This is how officials operate in third world countries. Why should we expect any different from the poorest state in the Union?
I'm glad Shad is putting the fear in them.
I knew Allyson when she worked at another State agency. She was always straight forward, gave advice straight from the regulations and state statue, and kept our agency director and deputy director mostly out of trouble even though they tried at times to run roughshod over employees. As it turned out the director was not reappointed and the deputy director was quickly fired by the incoming director. So I imagine Allyson would not go along with something illegal at the Bureau of Narcotics and received the Director's wrath. Too much of that goes on in state government. Good ole boys get appointed to a job and think they are untouchable, especially from a female attorney.
Everyone in power with dps is only looking out for number one or just MHP.
The only question at MBN is just how big of a check is Dowdy going to be forced to repay for flagrant unauthorized spending. We all knew this was coming and now Dowdy does too.
@ 6:09 PM - you know her so well yet you don't even know how to spell her name correctly? I think you just lost all credibility.
Want to bet Director Dowdy is tossing and turning in his sleep? Waking periodically with thoughts of what Ms Killibrew knows and may be telling to the Auditor.
This is very disappointing to hear. He was the head of the Criminal Division of the southern district for the US Attorney and I thought he was solid gold. Most unfortunate for our state if he lacks integrity.
Howdy Dowdy is nothing more than a political hack riding on his daddy's coattails. He is a deceitful, conceited, ineffective leader, and not really that great of an attorney. Knowing him like I do, there is no doubt he was trying to beat the system somehow.
MBN thinks they are a super spy agency and are not transparent even with DPS. No state official has the guts to take on DPS or MBN.
I bet she can tell the State Auditir a lot. However, Phil appointed him so his hands may be tied.
I've listened intently to Dowdy on Gallo's radio show and am not at all impressed with him. Among several weaknesses I spot is the fact that he is driven by his PERSONAL whims and compass rather than state and federal law and the mission of his department.
Also, I see no reason to refer to her as 'sissy'. This is not the first time Kingfish has called someone a sissy. It makes no sense and perhaps he can explain. Or not.
I suspect a lot of prosecutors have criminal minds. I might be off the mark here, but it seems like discovery violations are more prevalent, and much more egregious, among prosecutors than civil litigators. Just my $0.02.
People with cancer and slipped discs are sissies. Don't argue with John Dowdy. Or Phil Bryant.
A person with any integrity has no place in the legal representation of State agencies in Mississippi. Good old boys only see honest (sic) lawyers as a deterrent to their goals.
IZBO She was foolish to take such a job in the first place.
@11:09 PM
You should be ashamed of yourself for using secret code in your post. I doubt anyone under the age of 30 can decipher what "$0.02" means.
why “Sissy”?
What about his girlfriend at the Capitol? On the House side!
Maybe you'll come back when you can make sense, 4:29. I know a man with cancer and I have a slipped disc and we can both whip your ass.
We have a very sick notion of loyalty being promoted in our country these days.
The idea that loyalty is a two way street and is earned and depends on agreed principles seems to escape us these days.
Too many of us seem to believe that even if a friend or employer or person in power engages in criminal behavior and breeches every moral code known to mankind, we should condone destructive and criminal behavior and the friend or person in authority. To hell with the effect that will have on our society.
We've lost our understanding that in a democratic republic, the ability to speak truth to power and oversight is key to balancing power. The notion was that neither the tyranny of the majority, nor the power of the state, should trample individual freedom or be destructive to higher shared ideals.
Here's an easy test...if you wouldn't be happy with a person or party in power that you don't support personally or like to take the same action or authority, your loyalty to that person and support of the action and authority claimed should end.
If you don't see that, you are blind in your loyalty and are a hypocrite.
@7:47 I hope more than $0.02 is in the offering plate. Is that what you're referring to being passed around?

I don't know Allison Killebrew, but I have a heck of a lot of respect for her after reading her resignation letter.
7:35- were the fired director or deputy director?
There is two sides to every story... Alison is a bit of a narcissist and a know it all.
Turn-over rate at MBN is high. The reason why you ask? Well MBN promotes a married female Captain who dances on top of windshields naked for the sake of attention but doesn't get fired? The upper echelon does what it wants and conducts witch hunts on the Agents to find scapegoats. A few at the top need their heads cut off or maybe they should submit resignation letters also, huh?????????????????
Don't agency staff attorney's work for the attorney general and assigned to state agencies?
Two lawyers with Type A personalities in the same office is analogous to two tomcats in a gunny sack.
Hissssssssss.
3:28 - No. They are DPS employees.
Windshield naked? What? Where is that video? Who is it?
@ 3:17 Ahem, do tell.....
As a follow up to @3:45, they're MDOC rejects
I wrote about it a long time ago and it took place when fisher was MBN director.
@ 3:17 - "A few at the top need their heads cut off or maybe they should submit resignation letters also, huh?????????????????"
Stop making so much sense, those "few at the top" will never do what's right.
Isn’t dowdy related to former democratic congressman Wayne Dowdy. If so, it’s what democrats do.
@6:18, it would be great if you could provide some facts to support your comment.
"Alison is a bit of a narcissist and a know it all."
Well...she's an attorney. Then there's that.
"Isn’t dowdy related to former democratic congressman Wayne Dowdy."
Father and son - ears and all.
I don't know this for sure, but it doesn't make sense to me that Charles "Wayne" Dowdy is the father of John M. Dowdy, Jr.
One down, 2 need their resignation letters written, Director and Deputy! That will end the witch hunt that took over in late 2016.
Sorry, 11:15 - I muss got my Doodies mixed up. There muss be three of 'em.
Want to become a common enemy? Start criminalizing people's healthcare. From allergies to extreme pain....that'll do it.
John is not Wayne’s son but nephew. Family, but definitely NOT on the same page politically.
Wayne Dowdy is John’s uncle but to two are definitely different politically.
