It appears some of you haven't exactly read the Open Meetings Act. The Kingfish has attempted to look at minutes of various government agencies only to be told that he had to file a public records request. Um, no. Since a few bureaucrats, politicians, and gummint lawyers haven't bothered to read the law, here is what the Open Meetings Act actually says about minutes:
§ 25-41-11. Minutes of MeetingsNo ifs, ands, or buts. If the public visits the government body and wants to look at the minutes during the business day, it has to be allowed to do so WITHOUT FILING A PUBLIC RECORDS REQUEST.
(1) Minutes shall be kept of all meetings of a public body, whether in open or executive session, showing the members present and absent; the date, time and place of the meeting; an accurate recording of any final actions taken at such meeting; and a record, by individual member, of any votes taken; and any other information that the public body requests be included or reflected in the minutes. The minutes shall be recorded within a reasonable time not to exceed thirty (30) days after recess or adjournment and shall be open to public inspection during regular business hours.

Who Kingfish? Expose them.
Omg PLEASE tell us what agency. I gotta know.
You are speaking in the singular.
You're right, you're right. Which agencies???
I think a lot of administrator-type govt. employees don't know who they really work for. I would love to see a declaration of public policy that all government employees work for the people, not the other way around.
Really no reason why approved minutes should not be posted online.
The minutes won't tell you anything. The real business is handled in the illegal pre-meeting(s).
Thank you for the post. While your at it, ask to review the budget, which should always be available for inspection.
Expose them! Let the beacon of truth shine on their corruption. They aren't a private family run business dynasty. They are public servants spending public funds.
Joe Sixpack may not care, but some of us do. I am a small business owner and I am a property taxpayer and I want to know!
Department of of Wildlife - Senator Mike Seymour has taken them on and has received a Ethics Commission opinion against them! What Wildlife is doing is illegal! Seymour has proved it! Let's see if Shad White has the halls to go after them!
