Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey issued the following update on the hunt for the suspects in a home invasion and shooting of a Rankin County gun dealer last month.
Three Suspects Arrested for January Home Invasion
On January 26, 2017, at approximately 0200hrs, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from Flowood Merit Health Hospital that a 61yoa male victim had arrived at the emergency room with multiple gunshot wounds to the legs. Deputies were dispatched to the emergency room as well as the victim’s residence.
The victim stated that he was at his residence in bed when he heard a noise at the front door, he went to the door and was met by a male wearing a ski mask. The male entered the residence and demanded money from the victim. The victim said he heard the voices of two other males speaking. The victim was then struck in the head with a pistol by the suspect. The victim was forced to open a gun safe where he keeps his weapons. During the robbery the victim was shot multiple times in the lower extremities. It appears that approximately 30 weapons were taken. The victim advised after the suspects left, he made his way outside and was able to climb into his vehicle and drive himself to the hospital.
During the initial investigation, deputies developed evidence that the victim was known to at least one of the suspect’s. That suspect is identified as Lisa Michelle COURTNEY. During the investigation, deputies were able to collect evidence to show that Ulylesses Demonte DEER and Gregory Kurt HUMPHREY were a part of the home invasion and assault. Warrants were issued for all three suspects.
Gregory Kurt HUMPHREY was arrested on February 1st by the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force in Jackson and was transported to the Rankin County Jail and charged with Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery. Ulylesses Demonte DEER and Lisa Michelle COURTNEY were arrested today by the U.S. Marshals Task Force in New Orleans. The will be detained there until extradited back to Rankin County to face charges of Armed Robbery, Kidnapping and Aggravated Assault.
The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office has had multiple investigators working on this case tirelessly. Sheriff Bryan Bailey thanks the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, the Brandon Police Department, the Jackson Police Department, the Rankin County District Attorney’s Office and the numerous other local law enforcement agencies that provided invaluable assistance in this case. The citizens in the Metro Area can have some peace of mind that these dangerous suspects are incarcerated.
We have leads on several of the weapons that were stolen and have recovered one weapon from the McComb area.
Rankin County District Attorney Michael Guest will bring all three suspects before Rankin County Court Judge Kent McDaniel for Initial Appearances.
Additional arrests are expected in this case.

I wonder whats the REAL story? Was the homeowner entertaining the "HO" that evidently set him up?
