The Thad Cochran campaign issued the following press release:
U.S. Senator Thad Cochran's campaign released a statement and updated county-by-county review numbers:
An extensive review of 79 out of 82 counties has confirmed what we already knew: Senator Cochran clearly won the election. While there have been baseless accusations, the county-by-county review found very few votes that could be questioned and were due to routine clerical errors found in any election. It is time for Republicans to come together and focus on making sure this seat is part of a new Senate majority.
The updated totals show 909 votes that could be questioned out of over 382,000 votes cast statewide, which is less than 0.25% percent. Senator Cochran's margin of victory was over 7,600 votes.

The tone deafness continues.
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor??? Absolutely not!! Watch for McDaniel to continue his asinine quest. Praise the Lord this guy didn't get elected. He's proven himself to be a bigger idiot than Al Franken.
Cochran says fewer than 1,000 questionable votes. McDaniel says some figure greater than Cochran's margin of victory. Isn't this the EXACT reason why we have a judicial branch? I think we need to reserve opinion until the matter is presented to the courts.
What Cochran's camp is calling "clerical errors" might be the very batch of voters who voted improperly. Each side appears to be trying to win the battle in the court of public opinion. The winner will be decided when the courts figure out whether these were "clerical" mistake or whether these were "illegal votes."
5:56 you embarrass yourself.
That is funny. Polls show Franken up strong in his bid for re-election.
Search "franken re-elect polls 2014" to satisfy your bout of lame.
I just hope all the McDaniels supports gmad and leave. Hopefully they will follow Kim Wade to the Democratic party where they will fit in nicely. Glad to see you go.
UH...5:56 pm The Germans didn't bomb Pearl Harbor, the Japanese did.
I agree with you McDaniel's quest is less than honorable, but you aren't helping if you don't get your facts right.
Is this guy getting paid by the DNC. If the Democrats aren't paying him they should. This will never endddddd!!!

6:23 Rent Animal House this weekend. You will get it...
Try to watch Animal House, or Google "Germans bomb Pearl Harbor." You must be either very young or very old (or don't watch movies).
The Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Please make it stop! My brain hurts now.
Uh 5.56......I think you should be on Double Secret Probation.
Ps....you must be one of the few people who haven't seen Animal House 1,233 times......but McDaniel was definately an Omaga.
How can the exercise of a constitutional right be 'less than honorable'? Idiots have invaded this blog like fire ants.
Oh, but wait! Cochran said less than a thousand votes are questionable. So, hearing that, let's just call this whole investigation off. You know Cochran's puppeteers wouldn't lie.
6:23.... Never seen Animal House, eh?
I do not believe it is illegal in a literal interpretation of the statute to vote in the first Democratic primary and the vote in the Republican runoff. If that is the intent of the law it would say that. The law simply says you must intend to support the nominations in the primary but of course it is legal to vote a split ticket in the general election. If a voter says he intends to vote for the Democrat in the House and Cochran in the Senate he would be eligible to vote in either first primary. The AG's opinion and the intent statute raise a cause for the poll workers or a poll watcher to challenge the crossover vote in the runoff but I think under a literal interpretation of the law if the vote is not challenged at the polls it is legal.
I'm standing side-by-side with Kim Wade and pounding your sorry ass any day of the week LOSER.
Apparently the crowd at The Dexter Lake Club (Animal House) took more than their dates. They took their votes!! Wait till Dean Wormer hears about this. Faber College was counting on Omega-McDaniel to make it to the Student Senate.
Kim Wade and everyone who stands by or with him are losers. Sore Losers that is because it didn't turn out the way they want they pickup and go to the democratic party, Since I voted for Thad I guess I am not conservative enough either so I am sure you will be gald to be rid of a party of people like me. As far as pounding my ass I don't swing that way but they will love it in the Democartic party with all the gay right supporters and all.
I think to narrow the issues we should throw out all the Jones County votes on general principles and direct that those folks vote from now on in Louisiana.
You ARE adulterous enough 8:07 PM. Wade and his bravery reach more in 5 minutes than you've reached in your life. Toddles chump.

Really? You are that totally stupid to make such a throwaway suggestion?
McDaniel has every right to inspect the ballot materials - for 12 days. Then he either has to put up or shut up. This constant barrage of PR BS about what he is 'finding' doesn't do anything but aid his fundraising efforts.
If he finds thousands and thousands of questionable votes, then he should present a contest - to the courts. And the judge will follow the law as to remedy. But finding a few thousand (i.e. 8000) possible crossover votes doesn't begin to meet the legal requirement. And when his crack attorney team of Tyner and Watson start talking about 'automatic' new election, they obviously have never seen the inside of a courtroom in an election challenge.
Time is running out CM - put it up, with facts, or shut up and go home.
I am a conservative and didn't particularly like either candidate. With that said, I think the winner and his supporters better stop the hating of the supporters who voted for the loser or else they will become the loser. If you take out the democratic voters who voted for TC the majority of potential TC voters in the general election did not vote for him. Therefore, basically calling out CM voters as white trash is suicidal. I challenge TC campaign to be as vicious against the democrat as they were against CM. Somehow that doesn't seem to be the mode of operation in the Repub. Party as per the last two presidential elections. I guess I will have to hold my nose when I vote for the third time in a row.
I don't have a problem with Thad, other than the fact I have not heard him speak in the last couple of years. Please if you support him, tell me he will at least speak at the Neshoba county fair. If not, I feel like we are electing an interim Senator like Haley. I have no problem with Haley, but if that is what is going on, I have a problem with the deception in getting him in there.
In the name of all that is Holy, SOMEODY PLEASE MAKE THIS STOP!
This is great news for McDaniel. See you just have to apply tea party logic. This proves that the other 6,758 illegal votes are being concealed in the remaining 3 counties. Call a press conference!
The All Citizens For MS Pac filing tonight is going is about to change the narrative. Worse than anyone expected.
That must have been Ole Thad talking about those kamikaze Germans bombing Pearl Harbor.
McDaniel = Nedermeyer.
As I suspected, this blog is infested with thirty year olds. Otherwise, how is it possible that so many of you know so much about that stupid movie. Rock on Fratties.
They are really showing their ignorance.
Where is the McDaniel press conference today? I hope it's not at the Hinds County Courthouse - I hate going downtown after dark. But wait - Jon Lewis will be down there to provide security!
Remain calm... All is well...
I saw the movie once.
I remember the music was great and Bluto's mash potato scene was good and I like the parodies but, I don't remember the lines. Besides, that was 1978!
"Some of you are in desperate need of Chanel" if you think a line from a movie that old is going to resonate.
Do 30 year olds even know what a toga party is? Are the Greek systems still strong enough to have an animal house on every campus?
That would be somewhat reassuring, actually.
Let's all go over to Georgia Blue and have cake.
Toga Party? Went to a swinging one in Reunion. Oh yea!
No intention of supporting Cochran. Whether he was involved in a primary or whether he has an opponent in the general.
Since the primary, I've seen others who will never get my support again. The filth that has come out of the rep party is astounding. Vote buying, party switching, propping up someone who should have retired, paying off a county party leader, etc. The list is endless and represents so many of the things I despise about the old repubs who simply won't go away.
If there's hanky panky at the polls, then I'm glad someone will stand up against it.
6:23
It's a joke from the movie Animal House. Commonly used phrase for decades to express a futile attempt.
no idea if this comment will get posted
Appears some in the rep party violated one of their own rules. Rule 11(b)—republican nomination contests should be decided by the votes of Republicans, goes so far as to declare that the Republican National Committee shall not recognize as the nominee of the Republican Party any nominee whose nomination results from a process in which voters who participated in the selection of a nominee of any other party also participated in the selection of the Republican nominee.
Oops.
Clarion Boondogle today has headline stating: "Voter Fraud Debunked". Apparently their junior reporter, whose article was approved by an editor, doesn't know the definition of debunked. Nothing is affirmed or 'debunked' until a court rules on this fiasco. A response of denial from the Cochran Puppeteers debunks nothing. It only states an opposing opinion.
Help me here a little bit. We had a Party Primary, the Winner of the 1st Primary thought he had it made for the 2nd as most of the time it may work out that way. TC made it known he was reaching out to African Americans-Democrats-those Republicans who stayed at home on the 1st Primary. CM also made a good effort to reach those same Voters for the 2nd Primary. Nothing ILLEGAL about those who didn't Vote in the 1st Primary voting in the 2nd Primary-right?? Problem being that CM got out maneuvered-out Politicked and came up short in what he and his Team thought was a solid Win over an Incumbent. Well, we have all seen and heard for 3 weeks now how that came out and it's time to move on toward a General Election in November, this was after all a Primary Election for the Winner to Represent the Republican Party in November--suck it up, be an Adult and let's go WIN in November as a Party. Ego's heal, attitudes heal, nunbers speak and Adults accept results--let's move on and not have a Democratic controlled Senate -- FOR AMERICA.
"TC made it known he was reaching out to African Americans-Democrats-those Republicans who stayed at home on the 1st Primary."
Oh, now that you explain it that way, I've changed my mind. Not. What a stupid spin on what really took place.
