Lewis to Graham: "Screw you"

Hinds County District 4 Constable Jon Lewis minced no words in responding to District 1 Supervisor Robert Graham's insinuation that Mr. Lewis let three individuals into the courthouse on election night. Mr. Lewis sent Mr. Graham an email this afternoon that simply stated "screw you".

Hinds County Supervisor Robert Graham said he was "shocked" to learn that an elected county official let supporters of Chris McDaniel into the county courthouse in the wee hours after the June 3 primary election.

"I was briefed yesterday by the district attorney," Graham said Tuesday. "The reports that a county employee let them in is completely wrong. It was an elected official."

Graham would not name the county elected official who allegedly let the McDaniel supporters into the closed courthouse.

District Attorney Robert Shuler Smith has been looking into the courthouse incident after the Sheriff's Department concluded an investigation. Smith has said he does not expect any criminal charges, but is looking to see if there was a security issue at the courthouse.

The District Attorney said a "county employee" let the trio in the courthouse but Mr. Graham said today it was "an elected official. Mr. Lewis sent Mr. Graham this email this afternoon:

Mr. Lewis also provided to JJ a copy of the log documenting who used his card to enter or exit the building that morning. See below.

So what does this mean? That Lewis is not the elected official? Was he named as the elected official? Or does this indicate whose card it was?

Anonymous said...

I'm only surprised because there were no misspellings. (Poor punctuation was to be expected.) Must we have constables?

Anonymous said...

Lewis should have sent "Screw you police officer impersonator".

Anonymous said...

What was Ivan Johnson elected to?

Anonymous said...

Frank Melton's crew had a hand in this. Look who came in and quickly got rid of the evidence at 3:38!

Anonymous said...

Ivon Johnson who came in at 1:25 AM works for District Attorney Robert Smith. What was he doing there at 1:25 in the morning?

Anonymous said...

Interesting. So it was someone with the HCSO that opened the door? Who was it?

Anonymous said...

Johnson was there to get his payoff from Pete Perry.

Anonymous said...

or "Screw you, legend-in-your-own-mind".

Nicely done, Jon.

to 5:59, an "elected official" did not let anyone in or out of the courthouse that night. It was a member of Robert Schuler Smith's District Attorney's office. Mr. Lewis IS an elected official but an elected official is not involved in this. Robert Smith needs to quit pointing the finger and look into his OWN office, the office that is supposedly conducting and investigation on this!

Anonymous said...

Did the investigation run aground because Marcus Wright was involved or because Robert Smith's employee was involved?

Anonymous said...

He claimed it was an elected official, per the Clarion Ledger's website. Why are they hiding the truth. Who was it?

Anonymous said...

Marcus Wright works for the Sheriff's Office. Lots of hands in the cookie jar!

6:02, Yes we must have Constables. The office of Constable is a constitutional office in Mississippi. Of course I would not expect someone as ignorant as yourself to know that, so I am just posting this to help enlighten you.

As for you Constable Jon Lewis, Good job Brother!

So an ADA was the last person to use an acess card before the trio came in. Did he come in then call them and leave a door open so they could enter. Looks like the two Roberts are in this together. This would explain why Air Waves was able to take money from the county for so long and do nothing and no investigation.

Anonymous said...

This media outlet (Jackson Jumbalya) should go down with the rest of the "Cochran idiots"!!! What happened to journalist reporting the truth and facts?!?!?!

Anonymous said...

Courthouse access card sounds like a Fuelman card on that night.

Anonymous said...

Ivon Johnson is an assistant district attorney that works (obviously) for the District Attorney's office in Hinds County. (Or at least did at the time of the incident. Not sure about tomorrow)

Kingfish said...

First of all, you can learn how to spell correctly.

So since this site does not agree with you all the time, it must go down. Why exactly do you consider it to be a Cochran site? Roy, is that you?

Matt Eichelberger said...

The Tea Party trio went in through the west door that morning, not the east door. So Mr. Johnson's late-night run to the office doesn't involve the door in question.

For those of you wondering what an ADA was doing going to the office at 1:30 am, it's likely that he was in trial that week. That sometimes leads to panic-induced trips to the office to make absolutely certain you have everything you need for the morning.

Anonymous said...

This same elected constable post on his Facebook page pics he has taken of complaints he serves & makes fun of them. He has also been very vocal about his support of McDaniel. Sounds like this elected constable has issues.

Anonymous said...

To 12:22 AM, you said "This same elected constable post on his Facebook page pics he has taken of complaints he serves & makes fun of them. ... Sounds like this elected constable has issues."

You are right that "this constable has issues." He also supports Charles Lindsay for constable in Rankin County. Jon Lewis and Charles Lindsay make quite a pair and both embarrass REAL law enforcement officers. The only difference between the two is that in 2004, Charles Lindsay got caught taking money for arrests he didn't really make and now Lindsay wants to get elected again (June 24) to have that opportunity to put his hand back in the cookie jar. Constable position is out-dated. Constable duties need to be performed by deputies (who are REAL law enforcement)!

Until Mr. Johnson steps forward with a statement that is only speculation on your part.

Anonymous said...

not unusual for ADAs to be at the courthouse late at night and on weekends. they are on call 24/7/365.

as Matt noted, Mr. Johnson did not use the west end door; that late at night they all park near the Chancery building and use the east doors.

why do these records not show the egress records?

Anonymous said...

Matt,

A common observer would note that the list contains ingress/egress actions starting at midnight. That observer would note that the first and only ingress was by Mr. Johnson.

Therefore that observe would have to assume that the many officials commenting about this incident are not telling the truth, don't have a clue what they are talking about or both. Either someone let them in or they didn't. Only one door ingress action was logged.

Anonymous said...

Mr Graham at 12:22 and 3:46.

Out of curiosity I just searched on facebook for this profile where say he took pics of the complaints and makes fun of them. I saw nothing related to his elected position on his facebook page.

I saw nothing saying he supports any other constable, but I did see where you supported Obama, so therefore you must be a liar and incompetent. (using the same logical fallacy you attempted to use)

Car 54 said...

For the dunce at 8:08. The question was 'must we have them'?....not 'by what authority does the position exist'.

To re-axe. 'Must We Have Them'. 8:08, you are free to interpret this as 'Do we really need these people?'

Anonymous said...

6:27,

The word OUT... is a synonym for egress.

Matt Eichelberger said...

6:27 and 7:02,

Am I missing something? The highlighted records show "EAST DOOR IN" and "EAST DOOR OUT" for Mr. Johnson, do they not?

Anonymous said...

I am assuming the times are military times.

If the West door is the entry, it doesn't make sense that it shows just two entries at times 4+am and 6+am.

Those times seem irrelevant.

The times on the East door coordinate with the time of the call to be let out. And, also, the likely time to be let in.

This stinks to high heaven.

I would remind everyone that the Watergate burglars were unsuccessful in obtaining what they hoped to obtain.

A " no harm, no foul" attitude wasn't taken then and shouldn't be taken for this incident.

If this was an attempt to tamper with ballots that failed, this is very serious.

And, so far, all explanations have defied credulity.

Anonymous said...

Maybe Robert Graham wants to be constable since it would get him a lot closer to law enforcement than his JFP police officer impersonation act does.

Anonymous said...

Car 54, I answered your "must we have them" question. Since you are obviously not able to understand the constitution, YES, we must have them because the constitution of the State of Mississippi says that we must. Now, is that plain enough so that even you can understand it? Some how I doubt it!

Anonymous said...

It's a fact that Jon Lewis is a Hinds County Constable and also the appointed Director of the Mississippi Athletic Commission - Governor Bryant needs to remove him - he's double dipping! Didn't Lewis get in some hot water a few years ago - see link -

Anonymous said...

And, so far, all explanations have defied credulity.

Including your own.

Anonymous said...

9:09 there is no way that what Constable Lewis is doing could be considered double dipping. The office of Constable is a fee paid office and is not paid out of public funds.

Constable Lewis also did not get into "hot water" as you implied in your post. The problem there was that you had a bunch of county supervisors who didn't have a clue as to how the Justice Court system works or how the Constable is paid. Instead of looking into the facts, they tried to make a political thing out of it and again made fools of themselves.
Hinds County is notorious for electing supervisors who are, shall we say, not the brightest bulbs on the string.

Anonymous said...

Yes, "constable" is a constitutional office. But our constitution has been amended more than 250 times. It could be again and eliminate this waste of taxpayer dollars. I realize "constable Lewis" wouldn't want to eliminate this "waste of government" - a part time position where he makes $150,000/year. Nor would this same 'Chairman Lewis" of the MS Athletic Commission - another part time position where he makes an additional $45,000/year - want to eliminate this 'waste in government'.

No - "chairman Lewis" tried to get his salary for this part time position increased to $75,000 last year. Failed, but he tried.

Also, he is suing the county and state to try to get retirement benefits on his $150,000 fees - something not allowed by law but guess he is coming out of that McDaniel lawyer mode and trying to increase his benefits.

Oh - just realized why he might be such a big McDaniel supporter - Senator McDaniel did get one bill passed during his 6-year stint in the state senate - a bill to allow the MS Athletic Commission to issue fines! Guess that is a 'growth' in government under "Chairman Lewis's" tenure.

Good job John. Keep up this charade. You admit that you sent them to the courthouse at 2 in the morning - how did you explain to them that they would get in? And what did you expect them to do while they were there.

There is a simple way to find out how these three cat burglarers got into the building - put them under oath and ask them. And ask what they were doing there. So far, according to the sheriff's report - there have given three different answers.

That was before the sheriff shut down his "investigation" - an investigation done without questioning the three intruders, and without examining the election materials in the hallway. I'm a 'million percent sure' that Sheriff Lewis shut down this investigation early at the behest of his strong supporter, Constable Lewis.

Tricky Dick says.... said...

Constable Lewis conducted his own investigation - which he said was to clear his friends that were screwing with the election materials? I thought the purpose of law enforcement's investigations was to find the facts, not to clear up a friends problems.

Sounds more like the good constable was trying to create a coverup for a third rate burglary. And we all know where that leads. The coverup is generally worse than the crime.

Hinds County is notorious for electing supervisors who are, shall we say, not the brightest bulbs on the string.

Hinds County is also notorious for election supervisors who impersonate sworn police officers.

"Good morning. I am your instructor for the morning. I'm Lieutenant Robert Graham of the Jackson Police Department and I'd like to talk for an hour. I'm going to move pretty quickly about a subject that is very near and dear to my heart. The subject is called "Officer Down". For over 35 years I spent in the dispatch center as a dispatcher I'm a little but unusual type of police officer. The reason why I'm kind of unusual is every time the chief would put me on the street, I would mess up bad enough for them to put me back in dispatch."

IT NEVER HAPPENED. Graham WAS NEVER on the street. 100% fabrication.

Anonymous said...

To 11:00, the taxpayers do not pay Constables salaries. They are fee payed! Because he was appointed to the Mississippi Athletic Commission doesn't mean he's double dipping, it means he works his ass of working 2 jobs.

Anonymous said...

10:55 - constable is a fee paid position. as such, the income is not subject to state retirement matching by the county. But Lewis is suing the county to get hundreds of thousands more taxpayer dollars creating a retirement benefit that fee paid officials are not entitled to.

He already gets state retirement off his Athletic Commission salary. But if his constable fees do create a retirement basis for him, they are no longer fees.

Just like everything else for "million percent sure Lewis" - he goes both ways. What's good for the gander isn't good for his goose.

8:58; You're still blocking my view with that dunce cap!

I liken the question "Must we have them?" to my not wanting to ride the Tilt-O-Whirl again....I would ask my children, "Must we ride that danged thing again?"

I'm sorry you can't see the simplicity here.

12:14 -- Seems to have plenty of time to mix in elections and campaign! Wish I drew $200k for that kind of work. He does seem exhausted! Brief emails like "SCREW YOU" are probably his response to a tight time schedule.

Anonymous said...

I'm sure Mr. Lewis wishes he did make 150k a year as constable. Get your facts straight, morons. There's this little thing called a claims docket and you're about 50k high. Oh, and Eichy-poo, ADA's are such dedicated employees that they go to the office at 0130 - what a crock - give me a break! Maybe that's why they're never there during the day.

Anonymous said...

Matt,

Is this really that difficult for you to follow or are you really wanting just to appear stupid?

I believe anyone with a middle school education can figure out that the sheet shows the ingress/egress for the building starting at midnight. There is no ingress/egress entries for the west door during the times this allegedly occurred.

You are stating, as fact, that they entered the West Door, with, what appears to be, solid contradictory evidence against. The evidence would make it appear that Mr. Johnson is the only one to make ingress during this time.

So, either no official provided ingress, or that official was Mr. Johnson, barring some other logical explanation.

car 54, It is a waste of time to try to explain anything to you.

Lewis is a joke. The athletic commission is a joke. He doesn't like being called out.

Anonymous said...

To the one that continues to ask if we need constables. The answer is yes! There is a constable in every district in the state of MS (5 in Hinds Co) because they are needed. If you don't fully understand the duties of a constable, then look it up. They do a lot of work and the Justice court would be in even more disarray if the constables didn't exist. Lewis is hardly making $200k. Their salaries are public so take the time to look that up. Keep in mind that they pay ALL of their expenses including their vehicles, etcetera! This is about the wrong person being accused of something. Everyone wants to get to the bottom of this. Lewis's card was not even swiped on Election Day. Stick with the facts! Robert Graham was wrong to point the finger at someone without proof! Perhaps he needs to point that finger back at himself. The DA's office is covering up something clearly! It was their personnel in the courthouse at those hours!

Anonymous said...

This post shows two document - (1) a list for June 2 of all cards that accessed the East door; and (2) a list of times Lewis' individual card accessed the courthouse during the same time period. There is not a comprehensive list for all cards that accessed the West door.

So y'all have argued all day about nothing. What's new. . . .

I assume you are in politics in some form. Because only someone in politics can either lie so easily or be so stupid to assert something without even to look to see if their assertion is based in fact.

This post shows two documents - (1) a list of all cards, all names, all departments for all locations from 12:00am on 4 June through 11:59pm on 4 June; and (2) a list of times Lewis' individual card accessed the courthouse from 12:00am on 1 June through 11:59pm on 4 June

Anonymous said...

6:32, you are correct, I completely misread the header on that document. My apologies.

Anonymous said...

No one's addressed the bigger picture here. It has never been firmly established what time the Tea Party people went inside the building, only what time they called and were eventually let out. So why isn't Lewis including the previous day so we can see who was let in at the west door late that night?

Showing a list of all times from June 4 proves nothing if they were let in on June 3. It also does NOT absolve the constable.

Anonymous said...

Good golly did you even read all the reports? Can you read and comprehend?

Anonymous said...

11:28 -- Interesting concept -- HOW LONG were they actually in that building. Did they come in when others were entering and exiting, and just disappear into a corner or bathroom, later to find out they were locked in????

Maybe we've been thinking too "narrow" here, and there's a bigger picture. Wonder if there is video of the interior of the courthouse which will show movement after the supposed "last" person left around 11:30, or is there actual external video showing a time stamp when they entered.

Another option, no one is looking at is, did Mr. Lewis leave the door propped open for entrance, knowing it was malfunctioning, and then it was closed and locked, after they entered, and they were "stuck" inside.

Last real question -- why were they there that late, wandering around. Either they entered early, stayed after everyone left, and got locked in, or entered knowingly into an empty building, after everyone left, and got locked in........one or the other and neither smells very good.

Pretty obvious from Kingish's original video, one can easily see when the Courthouse is empty, it's not too hard to figure out since the entire bottom floor where the vote counting was taking place is dark, the double doors show a darkened office, etc.

Anonymous said...

KF why is the first time sheet for June 4th and the second showing Mr. Lewis for June 2nd?

Anonymous said...

...the second showing Mr. Lewis for June 2nd?

READ. Please READ. Are you that disabled?

The report for Lewis, Card# 9294, is for 'All Locations' from June 1st @ midnight all the way to June 4th @ 11:59 PM

What the heck is happening to the readership here Kingfish? Looks like you need to implement a literacy test.

Question? where is Barbara Dunn in all of this?

Anonymous said...

12:41 -- I believe she went home and went to sleep, at 11:30 that night. Then the "creepers" crept in....while the shop was not being watched.

Anonymous said...

Barbara Dunn? She left with all the 'normal' people - when the work for the night was done, she went home (or at least she left the courthouse; not laying claim to where she went for the evening.)

Simple answer to this stuff - but they aren't saying. Ask the four (yes, four) folks that were there that night (1) how they got in and (2) what were they doing. So far, they have given multiple answers. Put them on a poly - except I bet they aren't willing to do so.

John Lewis claiming that he had nothing to do with it is as bogus as much of the rest of his crap.

And for those that are trying to 'lower' his earnings to $100k for his part time job, check his total earnings. That's what he is basing his lawsuit against the county on; claiming that the part that isn't fee paid gives him entitlement to retirement benefits. But it was a good try to cover for your partner in crime.

Anonymous said...

June 19 @ 4:54.....Lewis has volunteered to polygraph! He also challenged others to do the same! Since you know so much, you should probably be the first one to ploygraph!

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required.
