It will be a steel cage, no rules, no time limit, loser must leave down match next month as the city of Jackson and the State of Mississippi square off in a federal courtroom over who controls the airport.
U.S. District Judge Carlton Reeves stated in the docket today:
Reset Hearings: Bench Trial set for 6/22/2026 at 09:00 AM in Courtroom 5B (Jackson) Reeves before District Judge Carlton W. Reeves
It's time for some war.

It's a bench trial where he will use AI on his tablet to make decisions from the bench.
You're thinking of Judge Wingate.
Until then this is all up in the air.
Oops, sorry. Thanks for the correction.
The commission is worried that if the state takes over the airport there won't be any more junkets to Paris.
@12:28, I am worried that State picked grifters will spend TANF funds in Paris.
We already know who's going to win this one.
Chokwe seems awfully quiet lately. Can't imagine why he hasn't been all over this defending the citizens of Jackson.
Has he moved on to bigger things?
Have the airport folks been to Hawaii lately? To do 'business' on the taxpayer's dime?
Bench trial with this Judge. We already know what the outcome will be.
10 years. That’s how long this $h!+ has been pending. And at least another two years to go before the 5th Circuit finally puts a bullet in the head of this abortion of a lawsuit.
Why hasn’t Jackson done anything to develop all of that land north and east of the airport?
1:04. Because developers don’t want to lease the land! Same reason PRV still has numerous undeveloped land.
1:04 did you just use the words ‘Jackson’ and ‘develop’ in the same sentence?
Carlton Reeves will rule in favor of Jackson. The 5th circuit has all but directed him to rule in favor of the State in the airport case.
