The Madison Police Department issued the following statement.
On February 27, 2026 at 11:35am officers of the Madison Police Department were contacted concerning a possibly deceased individual in the parking lot of Home Depot located at 205 Colony Way in the City of Madison, Ms. Officer responded to this location and discovered a male individual deceased inside a truck backed into a parking space near the business.
Investigators were contacted and responded to begin the preliminary investigation into the manner of death. At the time of this release, the matter still remains under investigation and the vehicle and deceased have been moved to the State of Mississippi Crime Lab for further investigation. The name of the deceased will not be released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
The Madison County Coroner, District Attorney’s Office, and Mississippi Bureau of Investigation are also aware and assisting in the investigation. Further details will be released at the appropriate time.

Sometimes the body they find is alive, sometimes not.
I'll let the coroner and medical examiner know. Your internet expertise has saved the taxpayers time and money. (Pro tip: if you find someone unconscious and call 9-1-1 DON'T TELL THE DISPATCHER THAT THE PATIENT HAD A HEART ATTACK!!!)
If a natural cause, or suspected natural cause, why take the truck to the Crime Lab? I don't know why, or why not. Just asking.
7:34 If the patient is deceased he does not need an ambulance, but they need to transfer the body from the death scene to where an autopsy can be conducted.
The autopsy must be performed to officially determine the cause of death, so you have to protect the potential crime scene, the truck, until you know the cause of death.
A friend of mine overdosed in the parking lot of a retail store one night. An employee found him the next morning and called it in. I still feel horrible for that employee and the way she had to start her day.
RIP my friend. May God forgive you of your sins and welcome you into the light of His face.
