The Mississippi Department of Public Safety issued the following statement yesterday.
Today, Mississippi Department of Public Safety Commissioner Sean Tindell announced Tadd Pitts as the Colonel of the Mississippi Highway Patrol and Amy Vanderford as the Director of the Office of Standards and Training.Colonel Pitts is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi where he earned his Bachelor's in Criminal Justice. During his tenure in law enforcement, he has worked as a deputy for the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office, he is a graduate of Cadet Class #59, served on the Governor’s policy team, and served as Executive Protection for the Mississippi Speaker of the House. Colonel Pitts has served as Deputy Commissioner and Director of Governmental Affairs, where he managed MDPS legislation, handles legislative requests, and coordinates with various officials and groups to ensure effective policy measures.

“Tadd and Amy are two incredibly talented individuals, and I know they’ll do a great job in their respective roles,” said Governor Tate Reeves. “Enhancing public safety throughout our state has always been one of my top priorities. As key members of the Mississippi Department of Public Safety’s leadership team, I know Tadd and Amy will help us continue keeping Mississippians safe.”
Amy Vanderford will serve as Director of the Office of Standards and Training, bringing more than 25 years of comprehensive law enforcement experience to the role. Vanderford has extensive background in training academy leadership, narcotics investigations, and curriculum development. She currently serves on the Mississippi Peace Officers Standards and Training Curriculum Committee and has demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing effective, high-quality law enforcement training programs. Vanderford previously served as Director of the Mississippi Delta Community College Law Enforcement Training Academy and as an agent with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics. She is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in political science and holds both a master’s degree and doctorate from Delta State University.

As a former deputy in the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department, did Pitts have knowledge of The Goon Squad’s atrocities and participate in the 20ish year cover up? Was he aware and looked the other way, as so many did? This is the magnitude of the dark cloud Sheriff Bryan Bailey has put over The Rankin County Sheriff’s Department.

BTW the locker room is the dining room set aside for the speaker and the lobbyists . it's not exactly in plain site .
you got to cut through the kitchen to get to it.
you will know its up and running when you see guys in $5000 suits passing in and out of the kitchen door in the bar.
during the legislative session a different lobbyist comes by each evening and pays the ''tab'' from the night before.
if you want to infiltrate it i suggest you go undercover by dressing up like a dishwasher.
Pitts has driven politicians around most his career and been Tindell's yes man. Should work out well for accomplishing Tindell's last objectives.

Wow...what an embarrassment. Tadd has no experience at all in a supervisory position and has been a "driver" for politicians to include Tindell. Why not choose someone with supervisory experience who has worked more diverse duties than this?
Who is in charge of ethics and accountability? MHP is a cesspool of roided out hotheads and head jobs. I have never seen a law enforcement agency with such a bad reputation…except maybe JPD.

Nobody’s ever been able to get a handle on the trooper steroid abuse problem, and nobody’s going to either.
I dressed up as a hooker and was welcomed with open arms.
Word to the wise....become a driver for Tindell or other politicians. Tindell made one of his drivers, Beau Stewart Deputy Director of the DSB on the coast. Seems to be a great resume builder.
